Well, I must say I am extremely put off and disappointed in Unicorn Cafe. This is a pity because I was just getting comfortable there too with its mediocre ambiance and so so staff. I am an NU grad student who was going to Unicorn Cafe on and off for the last few months. I am a very very generous tipper and student and the Owner knows this very well. However, one day last week I purchased a cup of coffee and sat down to enjoy it at my table inside Unicorn Cafe. After my first sip, I noticed it was rather cold. So I returned to her at the cash register to ask her to warm it up. She curtly told me I would have to buy another coffee at the refill price. I was stunned and at first I thought she must be kidding. I realized she wasnt when she repeated it to me again more loudly. I then told her I did not want to waste my coffee but only wanted it warmed up. She then did so reluctantly and with great bother. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to Cafe Mozart and neither will my family and friends. To bite the hand that feeds you is beyond me and there are so many nicer, kinder and, gentler cafes in Evanston. Avoid Unicorn Cafe at all cost.

As far as indie coffee shops goes, this place hits the sweet spot. It has a good atmosphere, just the right amount of noise, and multiple places to sit (even if it has not the most comfortable chairs). The place is constantly busy and the favorite hang out of many of my friends. I dont always go to coffee shops, but when I do, I go to Unicorn.

Love the atmosphere and the coffee. Also, had their tomato soup and grilled cheese, which were very good. The only thing I would change is asking for the coffee to be extra hot. I always do that and I just forgot, so I just gulped it down. It was very good, nonetheless.

As long as youve come prepared with cash for your stay at Unicorn Cafe, youll be all smiles. Their selection of Colectivo/Alterra coffee is the best in the Chicago area, and they have a great selection of bakery and made-to-order sandwiches.

Cute little college coffee house < about sums it up honestly. The staff is kind - the music is great - welcoming environment. And honestly, who couldnt love a cafe called "Unicorn Cafe? Honestly. : )

Cozy and friendly, but I never find sweet pastries after 11am; the pastry cabinet is full of labels, but no food behind them. Their coffee, sandwiches, and savory pastries are good, though.

Cute little cafe with great coffee. Ill come back to try the sandwiches for sure. Spent a nice Sunday morning here studying and they had classical music playing. Loved the atmosphere.

Nice people. Kind of hipster atmosphere. Coffee was high quality. Some seating, but not a ton. I thought the place kind of smelled like a swimming pool when you first walk in.

I like that it is a local shop. However, the coffee didnt give me the kick I needed. Also, they charge 99cents extra if you use a card instead of paying in cash

While I am a big supporter of local cafes I found the tea here to be mediocre and the tables not conducive for much. The food was decent.

Very cozy atmosphere... They have a $10 credit card limit but they will charge you $10 and give you back your change.
