Being relatively new to the Chicago scene, this coffee shop is a refreshing change from the ubiquitous coffee chains that you find on every street corner. This quaint coffee shop is located a few blocks from where I live so its super convenient to grab a quick drink or bite to eat on the go. When it comes to drinks, Bridgeport Coffee is fair trade certified and carries a wide variety of drinks and a decent selection of sandwiches, baked goods, and etc. Their drinks are just as pricey as some of the other popular chains, but I think they are just as good if not better! The coffees are nice and strong, especially the frozen fraps. Ive also had the arnold palmer (1/2 iced tea, 1/2 lemonade), which was equally as delicious. Ive also tried some of their sandwiches, specifically the grilled chicken sandwich on wheat loaded with large chunks of piping hot chicken breast with a myriad of toppings and condiments. The sandwich and wraps are all made to order and they bring it to your table hot and fresh! Also, all wraps and sandwiches come with chips and different options for bread including wheat, white, bagel, etc. You can also substitute for soup, salad or fruit cup for a couple dollars more. The baristas are incredibly warm and friendly every time Ive visited, which is a plus. Nothing ruins my cup o joe more than a rude barista, ugh! Bridgeport Coffee also is a great spot to come study if the library doesnt work for you or you get distracted at home. The password to the wifi is on a board right next to the door so you dont have to go to the counter and awkwardly ask the baristas. The only drawback is that wifi can be suppppperrr slow at times when there are many people using it so you have been warned! The owners should really upgrade to a faster service. In terms of parking, there isnt a parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking around the area. Overall, this is an amazing coffee shop that everyone should try out at least once!

I had the cappuccino and then the chai latte, the latter for the first time. The cup of cap was good, like the rest Ive had but the chai lat was nice and separated very nicely into its own category of flavors already set in my mouth! Not a huge selection of pastries though. The staff was very accommodating and kind. Parking on the street was available for free which is a huge plus living in a city like Chicago! Well, actually im not sure if parking was free or not, I just parked for free and watched my car. But, I didnt see any signs saying I couldnt park during the time I I was a patron. I was there from about 7p-close. They had free wi-fi which worked very well during the time I was there but there werent very many customers there on a Monday evening to share the signal with. I would have appreciated the tables being cleaner. The table I chose had a few crumbs but better than the table I didnt choose. Next time I want to try the vanilla latte.

The coffee bean selections are great for their taste, smell, and flavor. The roasts are as advertised. The "medium body" roast tastes like medium body roast. Even better that they sell Fair Trade, Organic bean variety that also supports The Wetlands Initiative. Pleasant, friendly staff. Sunny corner spot. They repurpose their air conditioners condensation to drip strategically into the potted plant by the door when its not winter. Cleverly resourceful way to reduce/reuse.

These guys really know their coffee! They roast their beans, about, two miles away on Ashland and will be happy to educate you if you have any questions about their different roasts. I love to come here to work/write, and just relax for the day with their great coffee & tea selection. Their food is not bad, either, but their baked goods are from Bridgeport Bakery...FANTASTIC! Also, Im fairly certain they were rated the top coffee house in Chicago.

My favorite coffee shop in the city, and its not even really that close. It has a great small coffee shop vibe and its great to hang out at all day. Its open til 9, which is pretty late for a Chicago coffee shop. The food is solid and its next to some great restaurants. Across from a great bar. Cant really get much more out of a coffee shop. If only it was closer to me.

I think the only downside to this coffeehouse is that its located in, well, Bridgeport. Not the easiest to get to by public transportation. But, if youre in the area, this is a solid coffee house with good food, impressive coffee, and a nice outdoor patio. It can be hard to find a seat indoors or out, however, so dont be surprised if you have to take your coffee to-go.

Ill save time and say that my friends and I are coffee snobs. After months of drinking two of our cities biggest gourmet shops/roasters I found Bridgeport Coffee. It is my opinion and taste that the single origin beans sold at this shop are the best Ive ever had. Prices are a little high but well worth it. I dont go anywhere else now.

Bridgeport Coffee house is probably the best cup of joe you can get in town. They have their own local roastery and the beans are out of this world! The food is great, and its a wonderful place to plug in and do some work. You can guy the beans and take them with you. The internet could be a little faster, but the people are fantastic!!

I wish they had a rating just for the coffee. the coffee far surpasses the food. I am no coffee schmuck I will not drink dirt coffee. I am a true coffee lover and an average cup will not do. I do not know where their beans come from but I will tell you they are within the top 80% of best coffee beans. Very impressed with the quality.

I love this lil neighborhood coffeehouse! It is so convenient for me and the coffee is amazing. The food is good and the service is friendly. The only thing that I dont like is the fact that it is SO popular that it is always crowded when I go in. But it is worth the trip. They have free wifi and the art is pretty cool too!

Best coffee around, best coffee shop around, best donuts around. Nice cozy atmosphere up front with cool bench style seating along the window that is complimented with a quiet area in back decorated with cool maps; perfect for getting work done. If you want a donut, you better get there early though, they usually run out.

Very good coffee in a warm, comfortable setting. Polite service, but it can get less attentive when theres a line. The people that settled and built this Chicago neighborhood would scratch their heads at the cost of fancy coffee these days. But everything changes and this helps keep the area vibrant.

This is my favorite coffee shop anywhere. A large chocolate frappe is delicious even in Winter when it is a terrible time to order a frozen drink. Bridgeport Coffee has the best roasted whole beans. I buy a bag every visit and I am very sad when theyre depleted and I cant pick up more right away.
