I pretty much lived here when I was in grad school. This shop has a fiercely loyal troupe of regulars, and if you spend time here you will learn why. The owner knows his craft inside and out, and is very proactive about hiring and training young people from the local college. The customer loyalty program is free to sign up for and provides more generous rewards than the Starbucks loyalty program. There are also some great deals around Mothers Day and the winter holidays. Delicious coffee roasted in small batches. The shop smells like heaven when the owner is roasting. Ive never had a bad cup of Newport coffee. Great place to camp out if you are a student or just have some work to do. This shop has been around for over twenty years and theres a reason for it. Long live Newport Coffee.

boring. burnt/stale daily brew. ethiopia-what? sidamo? harrar? went in to scout out a new barista gig, dropped $3 on a small coffee and tip, knowing my fellow baristas be broke, recognized the bakery selections were delivery and probably fresh-froze-thawed, cafe was empty and surrounded by competition, talk about poised to fail, if the owner there reads this theyd be smart to email me for a consultation/advice at a price, eff strip-mall coffee, buying a roaster and renting space does not equal profit, dont open a coffee shop in the same strip mall as a panera, or a grocery-store-starbucks, or a breakfast diner, or ALL THREE! i give it three months until bankruptcy.

Newport has a variety of beans and roasts. They roast their coffees on site. Ive purchased my coffee for home from there for almost two years and have always been satisfied. I especially like their Kenya AA. Furthermore, Newport is a peaceful, relaxing environment in which to stay and enjoy a cup or two. The service is always on point and personable, yet low key; I have never felt rushed or upsold like at a chain. I work near Newport Coffee House; if I lived nearby you would find me there far more often.

Waited in line for 30 min for a cold brew only to be given hot coffee poured over ice. Website says "Our iced coffee is made using a Toddy which is a unique method of seeping ground coffee in cold water for 12 hours. The resultant brew is mellow and smooth, very easy to drink" Food looked good but we probably wont return to try it.

Newports coffee is the best, I especially love the lattes! They have a lot of different kinds of coffee from around the world, and a lot of organic/fair trade choices. They roast coffee in store, which makes it smell wonderful. They have tea and hot cocoa too if you dont feel like coffee. Well worth a visit!

Dont listen to the reviewer who said its closed, it isnt! I was just there last week! Newport has the freshest and most delicious coffee Ive ever had. They roast coffee in store, which makes it smell wonderful, and the lattes are really good too. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable.

As any nursing student would know, the key to a successful study day starts with the perfect cup of coffee...and I just found my new favorite study place! Perfectly delicious non-fat latte, perfectly splendid baristas, and perfectly pleasant atmosphere, need I say more??

Owner was very nice and very friendly! Love supporting a local coffee shop. Very happy to have other options to the big chains. They roast their own coffee and it smells wonderful in the shop. Coffee drinks are delicious.

Newport roasts their own coffee, and they offer many delicious flavors. They tamper their espresso, not make it with a cheap starbucks machine. A great place to relax or study.
