When I walked into Fleet Feet Lincoln Square today, I was just an unshaven, overweight 50 something that needed new shoes. My shoe fitting helper Meghan didnt know me from Adam. She doesnt know I have been buying from FF from shortly after Dave and Lisa opened their first store, she doesnt know I have run 50+ marathons and 200+ other road races, she doesnt know I have purchased dozens of pairs of shoes for myself and my wife at Fleet Feet, and Vertels before them. But I have. Despite what I looked like, and whatever preconceived notions she may or may not have had about me as a customer, she gave me the same quality, courteous, and highly attentive service to select a new pair of walking / jogging shoes. She treated me as if I were a a competitive marathon athlete. That is how I have always been treated by FF employees over the years, and that is why I keep going back to purchase my shoes there every time I need a new pair. Sure, that isnt every 2 or three months any more, but it doesnt matter. I get the same quality service as this overweight 50 something as I did when I was a three hour marathoner. That says something to me about how FF treats EVERY CUSTOMER, and I gotta tell you, it is top shelf. As I explained to Meghan today that I had last purchased Ghosts and Dyads, she immediately noticed I had a pair of Pegasus on. Did I like them? (not really). She also was quick to point out that if I liked the Ghosts and Dyads, which she would bring up for me, she noted that if I wasnt running now, but more walking and jogging and concerned about cushioning in a neutral shoe, maybe I should try on the Brooks Glycerins. I did, and despite them being $40 more than either the Ghosts or Dyads, they were the better shoe for me for right now. They went out with me on my feet and immediately got a 6 mile workout. Fleet Feet is more than just a shoe store, they are a member of our community. Their employees genuinely take an interest in you and listen to what you want shoes for and help you make a great purchase. As a company they also are great corporate citizens, and run some of the best races in the city. This is a gem retailer in our midst. Yes, you may be able to find that shoe at a bit better price somewhere else. You might. But will you be buying it from a retailer you WANT to be around for the rest of your running/walking/active life? Will that cheaper retailer be there for its community? Will you enjoy the purchase as much as you will when you buy a pair of shoes from FF knowing how much more than just a shoe store they are?

Mike was great. He helped my son get his first pair of official running shoes for X-country. I appreciated his expertise and knowledge in dealing with my sons pronation issues by using supportive green insoles. In the future I will visit the Deerfield store to purchase running spikes. I also liked how the sales reps continuously acknowledged our presence while we were waiting and "Thanking us for our patience". Some businesses dont understand how important it is to acknowledge the customer. That little bit of kindness goes so far. I have gone to Fleet feet for the past 3 years to purchase my daughters X-Country shoes and when it was my sons turn I didnt hesitate to come back to this store once again. Thanks again☺

This is my favorite place to go for anything running or biking related. I ran track in high school (sprinted), but recently began running longer distances. Being completely new to long distance running (and running outside of school), the staff was incredibly helpful. In my opinion, an excellent salesperson is someone that helps you, never pressures you to purchase anything, gives honest opinions, and has my interests in mind. The women that assisted me helped me pick appropriate clothing, fit me properly, and decide which items were the most important as a beginning runner. The selection is really great except between seasons and they carry excellent, well respected brands.

Amelio is AMAZING. I told him hes a miracle worker. I have extremely hard to fit feet. 2 other stores got fed up with me, or didnt have enough options in stock, so they sent me away. Amelio not only had a gazillion stock suggestions for my feet, he also was able to look at my feet and know what the potential problems could be. He is a rock star of shoe sales! Every time a pair didnt work, he didnt let me get discouraged, nor did he seem impatient (like the guys at Runners Edge did). He just immediately re-evaluated, and came back with options. 9 pairs of shoes later, he found my perfect shoe. It was cute too!

Great running store staffed by friendly folks who know their stuff. I know what kinds of shoes I need to fit my running style, so I dont need to use their fit services. However, the staff are very knowledgeable and patient with all levels of runners, and they seem to have the experience to back up their recommendations. Its probably cheaper to buy shoes online, but Id rather support other local runners. Plus they let you test the shoes outside before you buy.

This Fleet Feet location has good and knowledgeable staff. I bought a pair running shoes from them, and enjoy their run club, and free yoga on the weekends. The store is located in the heart of Lincoln Square. They have a great selection of shoes, and everything you need to get started running, or finishing a marathon.

Dont showroom this place. Its worth the price to give them your business after the employees have helped you into your perfect pair of running shoes. Fleet Feet also boasts the BEST, most well-organized races in the city. Always a pleasure!

First time runner here so I was looking for a place that would provide assistance. Recommended by a friend and it was a good one. Great service, advice and shoes. They will work with you until you find the perfect shoe. Highly recommended!

Dont buy a pair of running shoes anywhere else. The employees know how to fit you and get you what will work with your body and running style. Yes, you can save a little money by going to a chain store, but you get what you pay for.

GREAT place for all of your running gear: shoes, clothes, socks, water bottles, fuel! Come out for the free running groups: Saturday 8am, Monday 6:30pm, and Wednesday 6:30pm (ladies run only on Wed).

Extremely personable and knowledgable staff. They put you through a four step fit process that leaves you with a shoe that works for you. Great vendor selection as well.
