The technicians at this dealership admittedly missed a serious problem worth $400 with my car before selling it to me, and now I am stuck with the bill. This indicates to me that they were either not as thorough as they could have been checking the car before selling it to me, or they are not being completely truthful with me. Either way their technicians made feel as if it was my fault for not checking the car thoroughly enough myself in the first place. Note that I took this ot another GM dealership to fix the problem, and they told me the problem had to start before I bought the car. Most people I ask agree that they should have taken care of this problem at Marqaurdt, and most people tell me it is very unlikely they did not know about this mechanical problem while they had the car. The problem was a very loud noise coming from the rear on sharp turns. When I tested teh care I didnt take a sharp turn because I followed the route the sales person told me to follow to test the car. As you can imagine there were no sharp turns in the suggested path. Either way, Marquardt will not pay for the repair. Beware of how they repair your car. Obviously they miss critical things that can be costly to you down the road. And dont waste your time calling GM, they wont do anything to help you. My suggestion, buy FORD and stay away from this place. Also please let me know through this forum if you have dealt with them, and if you have had negative responses or experiences, and if you are Hispanic. I am researching their level of customer care with Hispanic customers. Thanks.

Marquardt of Barrington Buick & GMC will be THE DEALERSHIP I WILL PURCHASE MY NEXT VEHICLE. Tim in Sales and Frank in Finance have gone above and beyond ANY other dealer that I have worked with to put me behind the wheel. I purchased a YUKON almost 4 years ago from Marquardt of Barrington Buick & GMC. (I then purchased a TERRAIN for my daughter last year from another dealer and was disappointed with the inaccurate information given to me from not only the salesperson but the service department.) This past month I called Tim at Marquardt of Barrington Buick & GMC and discussed what I was looking for in my next car. Tim and I found a vehicle within a few days, however my credit wasnt great and purchasing brand new was out of my price range. Unfortunately, the vehicle was sold before I could figure out my credit issues. Tim spent the next few days looking into vehicle options and discussed with Frank in finance a better solution. Together they put me behind a used car with only 5,000 miles that I would never have thought I could afford or have the pleasure of driving. Tim McIntyre is a FRIENDLY and HONEST salesman that did not give up until I was completely satisfied with my vehicle purchase. Frank White is KNOWLEDGEABLE and HONEST about all the financial and warranty products available from Marquardt of Barrington Buick & GMC. Both Tim & Frank are a team I could afford to and would work with again. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HASSLE FREE!

I am from Michigan and bought a used vehicle with "Out the Door" pricing from Marquardt. When I got the vehicle back to Michigan I found out that Marquardt did not pay all the Michigan sales tax when I went to get my license plate transferred. Carey Lynch - General Mgr, told me it was my problem not theirs even though we had an "Out the Door" deal. My salesman was Jeff Schoeps. He did not honor his sales commitment to me. Neither did Frank White - Business Mgr, Eric Maines - Used Car Mgr, Carey Lynch - General Mgr (she hung up on me on the phone when I was talking to her about our deal.) Also the owner,s Dan and Kurt Marquardt, who between the two of them I had left 13 voice mails or messages with their dealer secretary and never got a call back. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. Their website talks about "Customer First", "Pennicle Pledge", "Delivers on Promises", "Exceeding Expectations"....They did NONE OF THESE. This was the WORST experience I have ever had in buying a vehicle. They are the reason why used car salesmen get a bad rap. I still cannot honestly believe how I was treated by this dealership "after the deal". I do not believe this was how the original founder of Marquardt of Barrington would have treated me. I have bought 12 vehicles in my life time and this is the first time that a dealership did not honor their commitment. Todd Housenga

My wife and I went down to Marquardt to drive an Acadia to just test it out. After driving it, I did not like it and mentioned I was interested in a Canyon. There were no Canyons on the lot, and Tim Holloway said hed let me know when one that matched my specifications came in, and I could take it for an extended test drive. Tim found out what color and options I was interested in, and he tried to get one matching that for me to just test drive! However, he was unable to do so. Tim had a truck on order that matched what I wanted, and he kept me in the loop about when it would be coming in and how it was built, etc. The day it came in, Alexis from Customer Care called and set up a test drive with me. The best part is that Tim took the extra step of getting me a vehicle that I might actually want to buy so that I could drive the ONE Id be buying. This may not have been the intent, but thats how I felt. I believe they went above and beyond before I even knew if I liked the truck or not! When it came down to it, the numbers were fair, they gave me a great deal, and Novi got us financing that was very low and beat a lot of those rate available at many banks. Great experience, great guys to work with, and very little pressure. Great place. Great people.

My husband and I had been looking for a GMC Acadia Denali and visited a few GMC dealers in the NW Suburban area. We live in Crystal Lake and dont mind driving a little ways to get good treatment and fair pricing. Our visits to the Crystal Lake, Elgin, McHenry and Arlington Heights dealers had ended in disappontment. We met a few nice people, but didnt get the deal or treatment we wanted. It always fell apart somewhere along the way. Were not psyco-shoppers, but we do like to spend our money where we are treated well and get a fair shake. We spent our hard earned dollars at Marquardt and recommend the experience to anybody that can drive there. Like some of the other reviews say, it IS a nice clean place, modern and well-lit. If youve been to some of the other dealers, this place is a nice change of pace! Ask for Jay Davis, he has lots of car knowledge and will take the time (as much as you want, believe me!) to explain everything about the cars. He went over the specifics of the deal and the vehicle in every detail. I feel we were treated honestly and fairly, with no "man behind the curtain" tricks.

I purchased a used 2004 GMC Yukon XL from Tim McIntyre. I live 240 miles away from the dealership. Prior to showing up to actually take delivery everything was done (including my trade evaluation) through the internet, email and phone calls. When I showed up, the vehicle was cleaned and ready. The vehicle exceeded my expectations. The service I received from Tim and the finance manager Frank was first class. This entire process was "stress free, hassle free". My only regret is that I live too far away to take advantage of their value-added customer benefits. I have purchased several vehicles from several dealerships and this experience is by far one of the best I have ever had. I would absolutely recommend this dealership and my salesman Tim McIntyre to anyone who is considering buying a vehicle regardless of the distance. Everything they did was upfront, straightforward, honest and first class. Well worth the 240 mile drive to buy this vehicle.
