The waiting area reminded me a bit of a Greyhound Bus terminal, except packed with only old folks. Like so many other practices, they cram patients in here and overbook, making people wait well past their appointment time. I heard them telling several people to wait in the corridor because no exam rooms were available. The best thing about this place was an eye technician named Roman - what a sweetheart of a guy - personable and helpful. After Roman took notes, I waited for about 15 minutes for Dr. Prickett to examine me. He was competent and professional but rather abrupt - while waiting for him, I could hear Dr. Wood talking jovially to his patients. I wasnt given more than a few seconds to decide if I wanted punctal plugs for my dry eye. I had no idea if they were even covered by my insurance. They ended up costing me $317, but seem to be effective. I got one sample of a dry eye remedy that already expired, compared to 4-5 I received from an optometrist last year. The worst part of my experience was an incredibly nasty bully who checked me out. She insisted I come back for a comprehensive eye exam. When I told her I receive routine eye care and glasses separately through a vision policy and my medical premium does not cover that, she became belligerent. "The doctor wants you to come back for this exam - you should have said something to him." When I made this appointment, I stated I had been to an optometrist 2 weeks prior and also mentioned this to Roman. This woman forced me to make a follow-up appointment - when I canceled a few weeks later, Im pretty sure it was the same person. Are doctors unaware nasty front office personnel are working for them - Ive encountered this on occasion at other practices. After I posted this review, they were obviously peeved by it, so I was plagued by phone calls from the practice. Somebody kept calling over a period of weeks - probably 10-12 times without leaving a message. The last call was from Dr. Prickett, who left a message saying he was sorry and they would like to make financial amends, which I interpreted as a partial refund - I didnt call back. Somebody there is really dense - in the last month, I have received two robocalls telling me to reschedule the appointment I canceled. Take me OFF your patient roster - Im not coming back!

I had a scratch on my eye from a cracked hard contact lens. I called to make an appointment and the Northwest Eye Physicians clinic was able to get me in right away. I had an appointment with Dr. William Park. He was outstanding. After a thorough examination of the eye, Dr. Park explained my injury to me in plain and easy to understand English. Dr. Parks care, excellent patient skills, and great attention to fine detail lead to a complete recovery of my vision in that eye. I have now switched to Dr. Park as my full time eye doctor for contact lenses and glasses. I also highly recommend the contact lens department within NW Eye Physicians clinic. The technician, Teri, went above and beyond to provide great customer service in not only helping me with a new set of contact lenses but checking my older lenses for cracks and making sure that I had the correct lenses for the right and left eye. I highly recommend the Northwest Eye Physicians clinic.

I have been to several other eye care centers and doctors and have to say that Northwest Eye Physicians and Dr. Wood are the best! Had a great eye exam and then needed a chalazion removed. Dr Wood took his time and carefully explained everything to me and then proceeded to do the procedure. I felt no pain as he took care to make this as painless as possible. He obviously cares deeply about his patients. His demeanor is second to none! I drove there from Elmhurst and its worth it to find such a great practice.

In all fairness, the Doctors Ive seen here are fine, but Ive had issues with the office staff and management. In the past Ive had untold grief with this place over coding errors and insurance billing. The latest annoyance is that they mustve gotten a new appointment system because Ive been getting robocalls for appointment reminders even though Im not due for quite a while.

So happy I switched to Northwest Eye Physicians 5 years ago! The Technicians are very thorough and do a fantastic job making sure my prescription is accurate. Both of my daughters have switched to this practice and are very happy they did. Dr. Wood and his staff go the extra mile to make sure the patients are in good hands!

Experienced doctors and friendly staff! Its nice to have a place to go to get my prescription for eye medicine and also buy glasses and contacts. Its also more reassuring to have actual doctors (who are MDs unlike other big box chains) that can address more serious eye issues that may require surgery.
