I have been going to Fox Valley Tattoo for about 7 years,and after about 1 year of going there,I wanted to find a new place but just didnt know how to go about it,so I kept coming back and back and getting more dissatisfied with the outcome of my piercings and artwork. The biggest problem is the completely unprofessional behavior there,not to mention the revolving door of "artists" and "piercers" there. I would overhear(not that it was really concealed) artists discussing and ripping on customers and their tattoos after they left. On many many occasions I would show up,design/concept all ready and drawn out,and I would have to wait 30-90 minutes,while it was "redrawn" 10 times,then oops,repeated smoke breaks(practice your weakness on your own time,not mine),and then oh wait hold on....they had to order in lunch and eat it in front of me,and THEN start on the tattoo...Also, one artist,who is amazingly SLOOOOOOW and very socially limited,had his girlfriend there in the room,distracting him and talking the entire time my husband had his tattoo done(which took an hour or so to get started,despite his having his simple design all drawn up when we arrived),and I got dirty looks the entire time I sat there. Also,very very uncomfortable vibe in there,especially on Sundays,when the owner,Christian,is not there. It turns into a high school study hall in there. I had 13 tattoos and 8 piercings done there,in the course of 7 years...I have moved onto a really great place in Crystal Lake,that is friendly,affordable,professional,and above all,TALENTED. So,skip Fox Valley Tattoo and head to either Area 51 Tattoo or Black Ink Tattoo;both in Crystal Lake.

Never will I give this place the option of disappointing me, although it appears it has already disappointed other reviewers. I accidentally parked in their parking lot(to go next door, poorly marked lots and snowy out) and some guy YELLS at me through the window in a terrible way! Having piercings and tattoos if this place ever might have been a consideration it surely is not now! Living only a few blocks away and recently moving to the area this is not a pleasant interaction for a potential new client to have. And you bet when anyone asks me about a tattoo/piercing place near by I will say, "Im new to the area so I dont know of any good ones but but definitely steer clear of that place. The guys screamed at me for parking in non-busy hours on accident in their parking lot!"

Got my design done by Christian, didnt come out as expected - Going back to see what he can do to improve it. Color is not quite like the image I showed him - it came out too dark. 02/17 Went back and he told me he would charge me to brighten it up. I am not happy with that b/c he did the original coloring too dark. But, I will say its a nice piece and I have received several compliments on it. I would go back to him and specify coloring more.

This place came highly recommended to me by some friends. They did not disappoint. Christian, the owner, did one of the best tattoos I have ever seen for me. The place was clean, very professional, and it was an overall enjoyable experience. I will go back again, and definitely recommend to any of my friends looking for a tattoo. Thanks Christian!! This is place is awesome. Christian the owner is was great to work with. My wife came in with a drawing on a napkin and he turned into far more then she ever imagined. We had heard he was the best so we traveled from colorado to see him and we would do it again in heart beat. Thanks fox valley tatto Celtic man and his bride

Amazing experience! I got my nose pierced yesterday by Matthew. Very nice and very professional. Talked me through what was going to happen and what to expect. They dont reuse their needles and kept everything very clean and sanitary. Definitely would recommend Fox Valley Tattoo!

My girlfriend and i came to fox valley to get a belly button piercing and not only was my piercing shallow and off center, the place reeked of POT bad! not only that they took the jewerly from the case and pierced me with it and didnt even wipe it down. NEVER again

This place i adore! i am usually afraid to get things pierced but the girl that works there was super good and really chill , she even fixed my nose piercing when the hole closed up!
