Let me just say in a very nervous person with a pain tolerance level thats pretty much nonexistent. I worked with Nic over the course of a few days to come up with a very special tattoo design. Id never had a tattoo that large before (I only had a palm sized tattoo on my back) but I was ready and willing. Straight Edge came highly recommended so I drove the hour and a half to get there for my tattoo. I love writing reviews and being as thorough as possible for those that might be nervous or still considering. I spent 3 nights stalking the Facebook page, Google reviews and pictures so hopefully I can put your mind at ease with this collective review. The Parlor Itself The building itself felt like a tattoo place. It didnt feel like some dingy lean-to where Bob Schmuck does tattoos for reduced prices to get his experience up. It was a warm environment with art decorating the walls. An artist was working on a drawing when I walked in, my artist, Nic, was in the back working on something and I could hear the whir of a machine working on someone in one of the cubicle esque rooms. Although I was getting my upper arm done and didnt require privacy, I still felt adequately shielded from prying eyes that had just walked in. Of course, I wanted to show the tattoo off so I didnt mind if they came over. There are more private rooms in the back for the more private areas being tattooed. Also, bathroom was fine too. The Staff In my communications with Nic, I never once felt belittled or "out of the crowd" as Im not really in the tattoo culture. He never once made fun of my lack of artistic vision, answered all of my ridiculous questions and helped me design what I wanted for my piece. He was incredibly helpful and didnt mind that I was 100% nervous. As soon as he began tattooing, my nerves went away as I became comfortable with him and his tattooing. It was a wonderful experience the whole way through. My tattoo lasted 3 1/2 hours and Nic was friendly the whole time. While I didnt have much interaction with the other staff, they were all friendly and answered questions I had when I came back in the store to ask them after dinner. I didnt get side glances or scoffs for not having many tattoos (a fear I had going into my first tattoo at a different parlor, as I didnt want to be judged) and they were just as welcoming as Nic. The Equipment Im in the medical field so having a clean environment is important to me. The proper coverings were used around the guns and arm rests, Nic wore gloves at all times and I was pleased with the cleanliness of the parlor itself in general. I wasnt worried about dirty equipment, as I saw everything being opened from clean packets and bags in front of me. Nothing looked gross and there is 0 issues with their cleanliness. The Tattoo I am in love with the tattoo. I wanted a LOT in this packed space on my upper arm but Nic helped me gather my thoughts and actually narrow it down to a realistic tattoo that fitted my desires. My pain tolerance is low, Ill be the first to admit that Im a weenie. My tiger, my beautiful colorful tiger, took 3 1/2 hours and Nic offered breaks if I needed them (in didnt want them, lets just keep trucking) and asked how I was doing throughout the piece. The lines are clean, and the colors are crisp. I wouldnt say he has are heavy hand or anything that made the tattoo more painful than it should have been. Pain is a part of the tattoo, especially if its a long ordeal. After about an hour and a half I started making grimaces and clenched my teeth. But never once did I feel like Nic was too heavy, or that I needed to stop because of the tattoo. Nic alternated areas to avoid making my skin super raw. I hope this review helps. I absolutely love the shop and have no reserves about going there again. Im hoping I can secure more tattoos with Nic as Im already planning the next one. Fantastic experience all around.

Unprofessional shop, heard in the grapevine from other shops in the area that they have been trying to get this shop closed for good due to the amount of clients they have given infected tattoos and poor quality work which cant be fixed. Ive heard about this place by many people online and in person who personally have gotten work here and have said the owner Nick, who claims to be a owner and do quality work cant even tattoo to save his life, it was brought to my attention that he always has fake work in his portfolio that doesnt match the real work he puts out, to me thats the lowest sign of a individual in this industry to " fake " youre work is legit and steal someones elses pictures to make a few bucks and ruin someones body for life. This shop is full of amauters who arent worthy of your hard earned money in exchange for their low quality, Cheap service. Its a known thing, the only people who are giving this place 5 stars and writing that are their friends who they beg to since everyone knows the garbage they put out is scratcher work. Highly advise against wasting your money on a shop of liars and amateurs. If youre going to spend your money on a tattoo, go to a " real " tattooist, not a want to be one.

Ive had some incredibly experiences in life but one in particular has become my passion. It is my love for automobiles and racing. Growing up around vintage racecars and waking up in the morning to my Dad reving his engines in the garage is something that I will never forget. For a long time I just couldnt express my passion for it and the amount of interest I had in it. Cars became apart of my DNA. I wanted to celebrate it and I figured I would visit this tattoo shop near my parents house. Straight Edge Tattoo helped to create what I was looking for. Nick is incredibly creative and asked me to send him some ideas (images) of world of a gearhead. I flooded him with ever image that came to mind. He came up with an incredible piece of art. I gave him the green light and that was the beginning. The staff was always available to answer and questions and guide me through the process. The facility is extremely clean AND they have their own autoclave. After two sessions the tattoo was completed. It exceeded my expectations and I am honored to have such fine work on my arm. This shop is talented and professional. They are patient and creative. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Thank you Straight Edge Tattoo!

Back ground story: A friend of mine (knowing I love Sunflowers) tagged me on a unique Tattoo design, by Nick (the Owner), on Facebook. I immediately posted "me! pick me!" and I am so glad I did! He worked with me on how we wanted the sunflowers colored and they turned out beautifully! I spent 5 hours on Sunday getting half my left calve covered. More back story: Another friend of mine wanted to get her next tattoo and wanted me to go with her. So, since I already had the sunflowers scheduled for Sunday, she and I made appointments for tattoos on Saturday. Nick did them both, a phoenix for her and a very personalized Texas for me (unlike the Sunflowers these were both black and white line art for the most part). Small enough that he spent maybe an hour on each. I waited a week to post because.. well... LIFE...and because I wanted to see how both healed and looked like. Beautiful.. no problems healing..and no glaring "Thats soooo going to need a touch up" issues. Very very pleased and will be going back to Nick for more and recommending him to everyone! If only I could post pictures of both tattoos on here to show how beautiful they are.
