What can I say?! I met Bill Miller, the General Manager of AutoNation Ford Lincoln in Union City, after I had been talking to Allen Burks. Both are real gentlemen! Allen had showed me some of the cars on their lot as Allen knew that I was in the market to buy a new car. Then Allen introduced me to Bill. Bill, having been in the car business for over 30 years was very pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me a little. He asked what my wants and needs were in my next new car. As we sat in his office he asked me "have you been thinking about buying a new car?" I said yes! I mentioned that my friend had bought a new Honda Accord EX-L. I thought that it was such a nice looking car and it was getting extremely great gas mileage for the size of the car and had plenty of room. Then Bill asked me what color and upholstery I liked. As I answered him he was busily typing away on his computer keyboard. Then Bill asked me what was the one thing that impressed me about the Honda Accord? I said its the fuel mileage! He then asked Allen to go to the printer and get a print out of the perfect Ford Fusion HYBRID that would suit my needs nicely! Allen went and got the car and pulled it in front of the showroom. It was absolutely gorgeous! Just the right Platinum White with light tan leather seating. I had mentioned to Allen that I was replacing my old car because I needed lots of trunk space to accommodate my moms walker. He opened the trunk and my heart sank... There is a type of carpeted box on the floor of the trunk that holds the Hybrid battery. At this point I wasnt sure if her walker would fit and I didnt have the walker with me. Allen was genuinely concerned about my needs and wants too. Absolutely no pressure! Talking to Bill and Allen was more like having a conversation with friends rather than what I thought shopping for a new car would be like! Allen suggested that we take it out for a test drive and explained how the Hybrid Fusion operated. It was a pleasure to drive! I still had that question in my mind as to would moms walker fit in the trunk or not? I sure hoped so... I loved this car! Bill and Allen allowed me to take the car to my home and show my mom and to see if the walker would actually fit in the trunk. My mom loved the car too and we took a little spin around the neighborhood. But, I still had the unanswered question as to the walker fitting in the trunk. So, when we got back to the house I folded the walker and opened the trunk... It wouldnt fit. The height of the cargo space was lowered with the Hybrid battery. I was sooo disappointed! I wanted this car 10 times more than the Honda Accord. It seems like the Fusion Hybrid has an EPA Rating of 47 mpg city and 47 mpg hwy. The Accord cant touch this. So what did I do..? I decided on the Ford Fusion Hybrid and ordered a different style of walker from Amazon that folds FLAT. Its even the same color as my car! And my mom loves it too! Walker problem solved! I went back to the dealership and told Allen that "this is the one!" He explained all of the paperwork and got me a terrific drive out price! It was a very comfortable experience from start to finish. I currently have about 400 miles on my Fusion Hybrid, Im averaging 46.8 mpg and still have about 1/2 tank of unused gas! I highly recommend Bill Miller, Allen Burks and AutoNation Ford Lincoln in Union City, GA. What a GREAT car buying experience!

I had an absolutely awful experience this week. I took my 2012 Lincoln MKZ for service because the heated and cooled seats stopped working. When I went to get the car back the next day, the service advisor, Christopher Harder said he could find no fault with the system and wrote "Unable to verify concern" on the report. Foolishly I trusted him at the time and took the car home without verifying right there. The next day I tried to use the heated seats and the same problem was there. The light came on and stayed on for a two seconds and went out. The seats never heated. I immediately called Christopher Harder to tell him that the heated seats were not working. He insisted that he had witnessed himself that they worked, and dismissed my concern because he checked it himself. I took the car in that afternoon and showed another service advisor that it was not working and told me to wait for Christopher Harder. When Christopher Harder came he continued to insist that it was working because he checked it himself the day before and it was working then, even with all the evidence to the contrary right there. I explained that it had not worked for a month and it clearly was not working now so there is no way it worked when he checked it. He said he was done with me and asked if I wanted to speak to the service manager. I said yes. Service manager Wayne Quattlebaum came and I showed him that it was not working. He drove the car back to do some tests on it. After about an hour he came back with a printout from the manual and told me the seats are not supposed to work under certain conditions such as when the RPM is below a certain level. I explained that the seats work under no circumstances at all, at any speed, at any RPM, at any temperature. He scratched his head and said he would talk to an engineer tomorrow since his engineer was not there at that time. I asked if he was going to keep the car to show the engineer tomorrow. He said no, I should keep the car and he would call me tomorrow. Apparently, while I waited for about an hour, instead of doing tests on the car, which he said he was going to do, he was looking up reasons why it was OK that the heating -cooling system did not have to work. I do not know how the engineer is going to fix the car without looking at it so I guess they have decided that they are not going to fix it. Very disappointed with the service and attitude, especially the unapologetic rudeness of service advisor Christopher Harder. After driving foreign cars for many years I made a concerted effort to buy an American car. Never did I expect that the first problem I had with the car would be handled this way. Did I make a mistake to buy American?

I was recently in the market for a new 2017 Ford Fusion Energi and had been calling around to several area dealerships and doing preliminary negotiations and exploration. Im time crunched during the day and end up needing to do a good bit on email, with any calls to be in the evening. Cynthia Lutalo at Auto Nation in Union City kept in very close contact with me, was quick to respond, and answered my questions. The fact that the Dealership is open on Sunday was good as well, because thats about the only time I have available in the week to go look at and deal on a vehicle. Cynthia was able to find a car that met my list of requirements without adding extra features I didnt want and have it quickly delivered from another Auto Nation to the one in Union City. She was also great and a joy to work with in working out a good deal. They were very reasonable on my trade in, which had some challenges, and I ended up purchasing the vehicle, which Ive been very happy with. Im normally not a fan of using in-house finance at dealerships, but went ahead and ended up going with their financing this time as well, and was impressed with his honesty and the time he was willing to take to answer questions. I have some professional experience in negotiation and dealing with the back-end of finances for some of my clients, and I never felt like I was being given anything other than honest and accurate information by anyone there. The vehicle was also ready and out front when I arrived and ready for a test drive, which was nice as well. All in all, I had a great experience with them and would recommend them. I was a little hesitant after moving to change from the Ford dealer Ive used for my last 4 vehicle purchases (which has also always treated me well, but is distant and simply didnt have access to the immediate inventory I wanted at this time to take advantage of incentives before they expire), but Im glad I did in this instance. I should also add - the car itself is great, and Id suggest anyone considering it to try it. I think it gets the performance/comfort/range for plug-in hybrid balance very right for this area. So far, Ive cut my gasoline usage by 80% (I can plug in at work), and the car rides great, is very comfortable, and has adequate power for the commute in the Atlanta area, including getting on and off interstates and dealing with our infamous Rush hour. The Fusion line has come a really long way since it was introduced, both compared to itself and the rest of the market.
