Dont believe the reviews on here that say favorable things about this place. I wish I had listened to my instincts. I knew there were going to be hitches when I went in to get my eye exam and had to wait (20 minutes). I was walking around looking at the frames, you know because what else are you gonna do? The saleswoman followed me around (pet peeve) and started asking me all these questions. I told her I had my frames already (from Frames Direct USA for about $100 bucks, though I didnt say the price). The saleswomans whole affect changed. Ms. Helpful became rude with me and talked about those frames were sub-par, which is not true because they are designer frames and not defects. (Frames Direct has awesome customer service btw.) Anyhoo, I didnt argue with her and just sat down to wait for the doctor to see me. Then once I got the exam, which was fine, I ordered my lenses. The guy at the desk gave me the run-around about getting my prescription, though. I told him I wanted to have it. (It is your legal right to have it for one year.) He went into the back for a good 10 minutes (was he asking someone?) and when he came back out, he gave me a copy of it with an attitude. Wow, thanks. Then they overcharged me for the exam. then someone else tried to sell me frames again. Woah, settle down, guys. Then, it took over three weeks for my glasses to come in. WTF. And you know, I dont even think my prescription is correct. Wont be coming back here.

I came here on a co-workers recommendation after she heard me complaining that opticals near my house do not sell anything special. She said that Eyeworks of Decatur had a lot of unique frames and I should check them out. I found this to be a local treasure. I thought the frames that they carried were different, trendy, fashion forward and (something important to me), of high quality. The ambiance was urban and warm. The staff was helpful, patient and much more knowledgeable than other places I have gone. I was there for a while deciding and I did not feel rushed at all to make a decision. I also found their prices reasonable. I chose a great pair of glasses and will go back next year for an eye exam with their doctor when I am ready for another pair (this time I took in my prescription).

Excellent service, wonderful doctors, and stylish glasses! I visited because the location is accessible via public transportation. It is walking distance from Decatur Station. I selected a reasonably priced frame for occasional wear. I prefer contacts. I was unsure of my optical measurements. My optical specialist agreed to wait to cut the lenses and secure them into a frame until I arrived. He was so courteous! He measured me and begin sizing the lenses for the frame. I was browsing to pass the time, found another more trendy frame for the same price! I was so excited! In true form of Eyeworks of Decatur, he stopped cutting the lenses and let me switch frames! So kind, truly a fabulous place. It is a quaint and private office. I am so pleased. I am returning again for my annual exam.

I recently switched insurances, and I called around to 8 different eye doctors in my area before finding Eyeworks of Decatur. All of the other places that I called didnt put a whole lot of effort into finding out if they took my insurance (they were all on a provider list given to me by my insurance). Eyeworks of Decatur went above and beyond to quickly look into my insurance, call me back, and even get me in the same day! The staff were all very kind and helpful and seemed to really care about their patients. They even hooked me up with a loyalty program, so if my contacts tear or anything, I can come in to get replacements right away. I would definitely recommend this location, and I will definitely be returning there for all my vision needs.

I went to Eyeworks this past summer for an eye exam. Before I could go back for frames and to order glasses, I moved out of state for school. I called Eyeworks today to ask if they would be willing to fax my prescription to a local vision center. Since I didnt have the fax number with me, the lady who answered (I would use her name, but not sure she would appreciate that information being public) offered to email the prescription to me. When I called, I was not expecting that they would make things so easy for me. I called at about 10am, and received the prescription just a couple hours later. I am quite impressed with their customer service (even for past customers). These are good folk!

I never write reviews, but this place was so bad that i just had to write one. I only got an exam and the doctor was acceptable, but to keep a long story short at checkout they attempted to overcharge me with no explanation, they overbilled the insurance company for exams i didnt get, tried to give me a half-a** receipt with no price breakdown so i wouldnt know what they were doing, they then erroneously notified the insurance company that i bought contacts at their store which caused problems for me when i did actually buy contacts at a later date, and they lost my insurance card while i was there and claimed not to have it when i asked for it back. This place is terrible...

One of the best experiences Ive ever had at a doctors office. Office staff were courteous and went out of their way to help me. One of the staff members spent nearly half an hour crunching numbers for me to find out how I could get the best deal with my insurance. Ive never experienced that level of service from a doctors office before. Dr. Birdsong was wonderful. She was kind, professional, and was very experienced and knowledgeable. She took time to answer all of my questions. Normally Im very nervous at doctors offices, especially eye doctors, but Dr. Birdsong put me at ease. Would highly recommend this office to anyone.

The staff is extremely helpful and polite. I waited a little longer than I really expected to for my appointment even though I was 5 minutes early, but I wasnt in a hurry so it wasnt terrible. I guess thats just what you get for making an appointment on a Saturday afternoon. The contacts are also pricey. I probably could have got them cheaper online but it was just convenient to pay them right then and there and get it all taken care of. Maybe in the future I will look to buy my contacts online but it was just easier to order at the eye doctor.

From the reminder phone call to the courteous and friendly treatment from door to exam to eyeglass selection, just a well-executed, superb customer experience! Everyone I was nice! Enjoyed the warm reception, technical support with eyeglass measurement, professional exam with positive yet balanced advice, great eye glass selection visit with the optician Loraine! Just a blast! Great job! Healthy staff, too, which shared what trey did to maintain wellness! Impressive!

I had an awful experience here. After my exam the doctor made drastic changes to my very steady prescription. My glasses were useless - whenever I put them on I immediately got horrible headaches. Despite several calls and visits back to the store, the staff refused to adjust the prescription or re-examine my eyes. I paid a lot of money for glasses I cant wear.
