My family have been with this jeweler for a very long time. That didnt stop him from being a con artist to his long time customer. His store was "robbed" a few years back of course he had to take out a insurance claim. Anyway our jewelry was "taken" during the "robbery" . However he did say he was going to customize both my grandmothers and my own ring to take place of the ones that was in his possession during the "robbery"... It took me more than a few phone calls and pop ups at the location for him to have my jewelry ready. After maybe 8 months my ring is ready, my grandmothers still havent even started on. April 2015 my grandmother passed every time I went into the shop I asked him about my grandmothers ring, he always replied he was working on it. My mother finally went up to the shop and he gave her this size 3 ring with 4 stones inside.... My grandmother has 15 grand kids. The ring consisted of Each of her grand kids birth stone. The original ring was a gold cluster with 15 different birth stones and space for more because again she added on every time we had addition to the family. We even had to call the police on him at his business and the police even told us they had plenty of calls about this man poor business and poor quality service and product. Im all for supporting the community but this is why Its hard because our community tries to get over on us.

I have been doing business with Burks Jewelers for many years and never had any issues until January 2013, I took my jewelry in for repair. I was called by Mr. Burks associate staff and was told I could pick all my jewelry up. When I arrived at the store they could not locate all of my jewelry and only gave me part of what was supposed to be repaired. I spoke to Mr. Burks on 5-6 occasion and he basically told me that he could not locate the jewelry, so finally, I asked Mr. Burks what should be done about it, he told me that he spoke with his attorney and he advised him that he does not have to replace it or do anything. Sorry to say that is the last time I will be doing business with Burks Jewelry. If you need your jewelry repaired and you want it back, DO NOT TAKE IT TO Burks jewelry on 1188 Glenwood Ave SE. Burk kept my DESEASED MOTHERS CUSTOM MADE RING... HE IS DISQUSTING..ALL THE JEWELRY HE CUSTOMIZED FOR ME, BROKE. I LOST ONE HUGE DIAMOND Earring after letting Burk put screw on backs on my diamonds.. he soddered my necklace that went to my mothers ashes heart wing pendant, it broke the next day. The only reason I shopped with him is, after telling me he was keeping my mothers ring he then said he would give it to me. So I tried to deal with him to get the ring but he gave me a cheap bubble gum machine RING... DO NOT TRUST HIM!!! HE SELLS FAKE JEWELRY TOO!!!

Felt like a Harlem gift shop, like it should just be there long after all the other trendy business in the EAV have failed and gone. Thank you Douglas, for taking me last minute. My watch needed a battery replaced and it was 10 minutes to close but the manager took me in anyway. I appreciated that. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes and he even took out a link in the watch band as a complimentary service. Not pricey. Great locale. As a business owner myself, I felt really appreciated. I will be back.

I am probably one of their least profitable customers (new watch battery every few years, and occasional minor repairs, etc.), but the owner always seems to remember me and genuinely appreciate my business. He recently helped me resolve a problem that had me totally perplexed (how to get condensation out of the inside of my watch) and didnt even charge me for the advice. If I am ever in the market for new jewelry, I will definitely go to Burks. Its nice to have them in the neighborhood!

Went in to get a ring resized. On the phone he said it would be $70 they were doing a 50% off deal. When I got there it was $89, which would have been fine since it needed a different service, but he wouldnt honor the 50% off because I was a new customer. Feels a little like a bait and switch.

My watch needed serious repair, but Burks had it back to me good as new in just a few weeks and the bill was about half what I was quoted at other jewelers. Skilled technician, price was very reasonable, and service was both professional and friendly. Will go there first from now on.

Today I took in my wooden watch to get a link repaired. It is hard to find a place which is capable of repairing it and they were able to. While I was there they showed me wonderful customer service and were very generous, I will definitely be back in the future with my jewelry needs!!

Great place, easy to work with. They did great work cleaning and repairing some jewelry at a great price. Not knowing they were closed on Wednesday, I went there, someone let me in, and I still was able to pick up my stuff. Fantastic service!
