I recently took my 1996 Volvo 850 to Volvo of Tampa for a few big jobs. First being a Rear Main Seal leak. Second being a water pump and timing belt kit. The people at the front desk were nice, and mechanics were very friendly and knowledgeable. The lady at the front desk sent me a few pictures along the way as I asked, and they kept all the old parts as I requested as well. I was very happy with that. My car has since then stopped leaking, and it feels like everything was put back together very well (no new shakes, squeaks, rattles, etc..). The only thing that truly upset me was the "courtesy wash" I specifically told the lady at the front desk NOT to do to my car. Im a detailer, and everybody who saw my car was in shock and awe. I brought the car to them in immaculate condition, so I dont know who the hell thought it would be a good idea to wash it. Thats not even what pissed me off. What did is what a horrible job they did washing it. Ive never seen such an awful car wash in my entire life. They badly damaged my paint job by washing the car with a dirty rag. They left scratches and swirl marks all over my clear coat, and I have pictures to prove it. I wouldnt doubt it if the wash mit they used fell on the asphalt and was run over by a car, then put back on my paint. Like I said earlier, Im a detailer, and I keep my paint job looking flawless. Everybody that came out to look at the car could see it. On top of that, the car was covered top to bottom with hash water spots; so bad that I couldnt clearly see out of the front windshield. It looked as if somebody poured a bucket of soapy water over the top of my car and let it sit in the sun to bake. Not only was the entire exterior of the car covered in these harsh water stains, but the interior glass as well! You could do a better job with a water bottle and box of tissues. Im extremely disappointed. Im not trying to over exaggerate anything. Ive uploaded some pictures so you can see for yourself. ***Google Reviews prohibits me from adding links to the images. If you would like to see the pictures, feel free to contact me. The first image shows what a pathetic job they did washing my car. I wiped half way with one of my premium microfiber towels to reveal the swirls and scratches they put into my paint job. You can see the water stains very clearly in the bottom right by my license plate. My entire car was covered in this. This is simply unacceptable. The following 5 images clearly show my paint job before I brought my car to Volvo of Tampa in flawless condition. There was even a large streak of Anti-Seize on one of my wheels, and all over my axle. They torqued my lug bolts so tight that I couldnt get them off with a 2 foot breaker bar and a 3 foot pipe. They were torqued to way over 200 ft/lbs. The specification for my Volvo is 81 ft/lbs. I had to take my car to my neighbors shop to remove them with an impact wrench. Very unprofessional and down right lazy.

Horrible Experience in the Parts Department. Chuck helped me out and was a nice guy. I was told I would get a phone call when my parts came in the next day, I never received one. The fact that I was just charged $104 dollars for 4 small bolts for the window was defiently a shock but I needed them and accepted "the dealer markup". I called in to find out where the parts were, upon mentioning that I was helped by Chuck the person chuckled as if it was a joke and typical, something I found to be very unprofessional. I was than told that the parts would be on back order for 3 weeks. I than proceeded to say I would have liked to know that before and that I needed them sooner as it rains everyday . The attendant than proceeded to be more concerned with me calling them to cancel my order if I did find them else where so they would not get stuck with them, He mentioned that to me about 5 times within 2 minutes. I than looked at another dealer in Georgia who had the same bolts as I used the part number only to find out that The $18.19 pinbolt was only $5 dollars at another VOLVO dealer in Georgia and the $26 bolts of which I needed 3 was only $10 dollars at the same VOLVO Dealer in Geogia. A 300% markup at another VOLVO dealer this was very displeasing. Not only that but the parts that VOLVO Tampa told me were on backorder and would have to wait 3 weeks to be ordered from Sweden were readily available at the same supply warehouse that all the Dealers receive their parts from in Atlanta. Upon going back to the VOLVO dealer in Tampa I was told by them that ya the parts are not on backorder anymore after being told an hour before that they were. I would also have to wait for a check for my refund, acceptable but still not pleased. I than proceeded to ask about the 300% markup and I was told it is according to zone at that point I was flustered at a 300% markup on a bolt that costs normally 2-4 dollars anywhere from a retailer. They than reluctantly informed me that they can match prices from other dealers but since I already had ordered from Georgia they would not need to do that how nice they are. All in all this place is a joke when it comes to parts and service. I work on all of my own vehicles and only go to dealers for parts not available elsewhere, this experience only furthered my hate for overpriced dealers with bad service. NEVER BUY PARTS FROM THIS DEALER THEY WILL SCREW YOU ON PRICE GURANTEEDED SUCH AS THEIR 300% MARKUP ON A $5 DOLLAR PART. Contact another dealer such as Volvo in Georgia if you would like to get parts at a reasonable price but you must contact them directly a couple of times in order to get what you need on a timely basis.

Im writing to complain about unsatisfactory customer service I received at Parts and Service of Volvo of Tampa on 12/21/2016. 14 month ago, I purchased a battery for my Volvo XC60 from your location. I was told that the warranty for the battery is 24 months. The battery died a few days ago. On 12/21/2016, I came to Volvo of Tampa brought the old battery with me and asked for the replacement since it is still under the warranty. The lady, who introduced as the service consultant advised me that I will need to bring my car in to get the replacement for the battery. I notified her that this is impossible as the car, obviously, is not drivable since there is no working battery. However, she insisted that I will bring the car in order for her to honor the warranty. I then explained her that the car will need to be towed from Brandon, FL to Tampa, and it would not make any sense since the towing cost would exceed the cost if I simply purchase a new battery. She kept insisting that I bring the car in. I requested for the manager to discuss the situation, but the service consultant simply told me that the manager is BUSY now and there is nothing she can do. This is very disappointing! While, I understand the rules and policies, I also think it should make sense and not such a burden for your customers. Before establishing these rules, you should consider about your customers location, and requesting to bring the car to the shop in order to give a replacement battery under warranty, is unreasonable. Further, if the customer is not satisfied with the service, the manager should make him/her available and try to resolve the issue. Careless service consultants statements that the manager is "BUSY" is simply unacceptable! Again, the customer service I received on 12/21/2016 was unacceptable and very disappointing.
