Alright, lets be honest for a second, lets step into reality. Play N Trade here in Tampa is not really anything to be hyped about. There many other stores that offer retro games in Tampa other than Play N Trade that are way better. I have a better time at the Flea Market looking for retro games! All I find in the store regarding retro games for, lets say Super Nintendo, is sports games. Sports, sports, sports. Play N Trade REALLY loves there sports games, and the games that are actually good and worth the money are super expensive. Trust me when I say this, half of the time youre there, you wont find what youre looking regarding old games. The reason behind this is because they rely on retro game trade ins. They dont buy there retro games like most other retro stores do. Obviously, it leads to people only trading in sports games or low rated games. Knowing all of this though, Play N Trade isnt to shabby. You got nice workers there, a nice selection of current games, etc. Also, Play N Trade does higher trade in values than GameStop. I dont know why I would ever trade in games, but I was low on cash one day. I traded in three PS3 games and three 3DS games to GameStop. The highest amount of money they would give me was 7.00$. Now when I went to Play N Trade to trade-in my games, I got 18.56$. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but its WAY better than 7.00$. Is Play N Trade a good store? It depends on what youre looking for. If its retro games, this isnt your place. Like I said before, rarely will they have what you want. Now, is it good for current games? Yea, I think it is. There rewards program (the Insider Club) cuts down the price of a game even less than Power Up does, nicer employees, nicer environment, and higher trade in values. Id take Play N Trade over GameStop any day. Service: 9/10 Inventory: 4/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Final Rating: 6/10 (Okay).

This store is run by people who truly love video games. Owner Tong Lee throws tournaments all the time, and he always keeps gaming setups by the front door for people to drop in and hangout, even if they cant buy anything. None of that rigid Gamestop nonsense, these people love their jobs, and people who love their jobs love to share their passion and nerd out. The selection is phenomenal; one day the free setups could run 360s and PS3s, the next day it could be SNES, Atari, or freaking ColecoVision. THOUSANDS of games, mountains of systems and accessories, even a nice DVD selection. The deals are good, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Its the only place in Tampa to go for video games.

been going to this store since i was 9 years old and im now 18 , nothing has changed in nice years prices are beyond fair the owner tong is a very nice guy and will work with you if absolutely needed , wouldnt even think about going to another game store if play n trade shut down id never buy another video game again thats how loyal i feel to this store 5 starts hands down love this service iv gotten for 9 years straight never once have i had a bad visit to this store !!!!

Gamestop can suck it, this place is perfect! Great employees, funner, more intimate environment, games for ALL systems (i still play N64) and the one thing that could get the 5 stars on its own..... you can PLAY and TRADE. They allow you to play the games and you get your moneys worth for new or used games that you want to sell for store credit or cash. I love this place and will always shop here.

Compared to other game stores in the area, PnT seems to have a better selection of the PS2/Xbox games. So much so, in fact, that there were games sitting in stacks above shelves, and in bins on the floor. I could only hope that they get a chance to expand to a bigger store, before their selection begins to look more like clutter.

The staff is amazingly personable, its a franchise so its very awesome to begin with. On top of that they let you keep a wishlist and are good about calling you if anyone trades in a game you requested to be told about. RETRO GAMES/CONSOLES alongside new, and you can play them prior to buying them, you simply cant beat that.

This place has pretty good prices, but not that great a selection. There are a few hidden gems that you may find. My only problem is that they dont offer exchanges/refunds, even if the disc is damaged beyond repair, so make sure you check each one before you walk away with it.

This place is a great alternative to the "Big Box" monster that Gamestahp has become. They are personable and helpful. This store looks like it struggles a bit with the size of their shop and the inventory they have, but I still give it 5 stars.

These guys know their stuff. Very friendly and professional. Have the cheapest prices in Tampa. The Franchise isnt as big as the other types so we get things cheaper there! Always hosting tournaments, so good feeling when you walk in!

Weve been to several Play N Trades. Great selection of games, the games were priced very well, and the guy working was fantastic! I suggest playing some music for a more comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

The selection leaves a lot to be desired, but their used games are buy 2 get 1 free and the owner does a lot for the Tampa Bay FGC. Definitely deserving of your business.
