Totally not what I expected. I have a house on island, and locked my bike up at The Bean before making sure I had the key. Few hours later, leaving the bean after doing homework, go to unlock my bike… no bueno. No key. Text people I know on island, they either don’t have a key to the house or their off island working, since its a Monday. Start walking from Bean towards West Gulf at high noon in cheap slippers with a backpack full of textbooks and full size laptop, in dark shirt and shorts. Pass by Finnimore’s. Figure I’ve got a few dollars in my pocket, I can finagle a rental of an hour or so to ride back to my house and get my key. I walk up to the rental area, one of the employees asks if he can help, I explain what I did, and he says “You can just borrow the maroon one.” This was completely unexpected. Thanked him, hopped on, got to my place a few minutes later, grabbed my key, rode back, dropped off the bike. Fifteen minutes tops instead of a 45 minute walk in the sun with pack. Didn’t ask for ID or anything, just asked that I bring it back when I was done. This was a completely unexpected act of island spirit, and I cannot thank the guys at Finnimores enough.

We rented both bikes and kayaks from Finnemores. Bikes were definitely run down and wobbley/squeaky. Wishing I had WD40 to make mine a better experience. Then rented kayaks from them the next day. Ruined my familys day.. Dropped us off at Bowmans beach, where parking was next to impossible to find. We had rented 3 kayaks and 1 tandem for me and my youngest. We got about an hour into the mangroves and my sons kayak was sinking. We had no alternative but to turn around and go back to the dock/car. Because there were 3 kids, I had to stay back with one of them, while my husband and other two went back out. They didnt stay long because they didnt want to leave us at the car with nothing to do. We werent prepared to go the the beach because we had expected to kayak for a few hours. They refunded the cost of the sinking kayak, but like I said, it ruined our day, and quite honestly, I didnt think that partial refund was enough. Vacation time is golden, so to lose a day to their run-down gear was very disappointing indeed. I would never recommend this business to other visitors.

They had nice bikes out front. AFTER I paid for the rental for myself and my husband they went to the very back of the store and brought out two very old bikes. The experience was dreadful. My bike was so wobbly I could barely keep it in a straight line and my husbands squeaked so loud we stopped and squirted some sun block on it to make it stop. Both of the bikes were extremely uncomfortable. I paid for a couple days but after only an hour we took the bikes back and handed in the keys. We were also supposed to get helmets, a map and water bottles with the cost of the bikes. Helmets and map were never offered and after i asked the staff handed me one warm 12 oz bottle of water for me and my husband to ...share.

Leihräder waren technisch gut in Schuss bei fairen Preisen, was wir nicht immer so auf unsere USA Rundreise erleben konnten. Wir machten eine brettebene Rundtour auf Sanibel u. a. durch das wildlife refuge, was wirklich eine schöne Tour ist. Ich kann den Verleih wirklich empfehlen.

Si vous avez envie de faire un peu de kayak dans la région et découvrir de la façon la plus paisible possible la flore et la faune locale, cest ici quil faut venir. Les locations se font pour 2h (suffisant à mon goût) et les prix ne sont pas prohibitifs pour la région.

Rented a hybrid bike for a week. Mid-week, Finnimores drop off service came to drop off more bikes. They moved my bike and swapped the lock. I was unable to use my rental until making another trip to the store after it opened the next day. I got a new key but no apology. They close at 4 (too early), you cant call and leave a message or email. Bike worked OK, but I resent paying $74 to rent a $400 bicycle. Unfortunately they and Billys have the market locked up.

I live on the island and, hosting family and friends, we have a bunch of bikes. These guys operate with island cool and really know their stuff. I have had many repairs done there and the cost has always been very fair. My one recommendation: dont expect them to call you to let you know if a repair is done it delayed. Just give a call. BTW, if a repair is delayed it is because their waiting for a part. Otherwise they deliver as promised.

We had a bike break down from Billys bike rentals, their local competitor, and a member of the Finnimores staff noticed and pulled aside to save the day! He was so willing to help and fixed it for us immediately with a great attitude. With people like that and such wonderful service, theyre a top notch business in Sanibel!

Great Bikes! Finnimores is the perfect distance for a ride to the Lighthouse! You can rent bikes, stop for lunch and still enjoy the beach at the Lighthouse and make it back in time! We did this yesterday.
