My husband and I used to frequent the old location of Gamers Edge, and we always enjoyed the selection of used and vintage games. Aside from the horrible smell constantly at the old store, all our experiences were positive. Our most recent experience was extremely disappointing, and they will not get any more of our business. We brought in a used PS3, Gameboy, games, driving stand and Logitech wheel, etc. (Lots of pricier items in mint condition with original packaging). Trade in never gets you as much as selling the items yourself, but we were fine with this as the trade off is that we can put money from the trade ins towards an XBox One we wanted to purchase. First day I come in, we trade in quite a few items and put down a large deposit. We were told the system would be ordered and it typically takes a week to two weeks to come in. I come in after a week with a few other items and now the employee assisting us is unsure if the item is ordered or not. ? Knowing that we cant take the item home before it is paid in full, I ask if I need to pay for it all now to have the item ordered. I receive the excuse that he is unsure of the company policy, but he said he was pretty sure it was ordered. My husband calls and he is told the same. Again we question if we need to simply pay, and we are brushed off. Two weeks are gone. Fed up, I go in the store, pay the item in full and ask if it will definitely be ordered. I am assured yes. Another week, no console. Another week, I call to explain that this is simply not acceptable. Im told sorry, they arent sure whats going on, they are waiting on their supplier, etc. They said they would, "Make this right." When I questioned if this is typical shipping time, I was informed again the employee wasnt sure because he had just returned. He said that another person had to wait a month and a half for for a WiiU. This just solidified my decision to never return there for business. A full month to receive our console with an employee obviously not well versed in company policy is not acceptable. We easily could have sold our items through eBay for much more and purchased a console from one of many local and online stores within a months time. I love to support local businesses, but you better bet I will never support a business that is as disorganized as Gamers Edge has proven to be. Buyers beware!

The only reason im giving them 1 star is because it wont let me rate them any lower!!! I called the store on 8/17 at about 7 pm & talked to a kid there about selling a couple of items to them. I told him I had a Gears of War Delta squad box set in perfect condition, Never opened along with a Tritton 720+ Headset & a pair of Gunnar gaming glasses all in perfect shape. He said come on in & we will take care of you , so I did. What a mistake!!! This kid behind the counter was not the brightest bulb in the pack. When all was said & done he offered me $25 for the Headset & when I said ok he then said " oh sorry I cant give you $25 for them I can only give you about $10 " ??? They offer you 1 thing , Then immediately go back on it !!! WTF?!?! I used to own my own game store & would never have treated people that way. If you commit to something , follow through & pay what you say you will pay for a product. Theyre worse than Gamestop!!!

Make sure if you buy something NEW from this place that youre 100% sure you want/need it at the price they are selling it. I bought a controller for a tournament and it was cancelled, so I tried to return it. Brand new, in packaging, within the 14 day period, and they said they could only give me STORE CREDIT. Literally any other store would give me a refund, but not this place apparently! Total ripoff. I guess thats how they stay in business.. I can literally get the same controller on Amazon for half the price, with a guaranteed refund/return policy. The store clerk was rude and unhelpful. Ill never shop here again! This place will go out of business in a few years or so anyway thanks to Amazon... Good customer service goes a long way, unfortunately this store doesnt seem to realize that... Shady return policy and RUDE clerks.

Im sure the people that put positive reviews on here are just part of the group that regularly plays D&D there. If youre not one of them they will let you know. There was a guy that worked there and he was a complete a**hat. A buddy and I went there for the first time looking for older games. The a**hole guy, I think he was bald not that it matters just look out for him, mocked us and made jokes to his friends playing D&D in the back. It was strange, I have been to a lot of stores like this one but never made fun for shopping there by the staff. It was like they dont want to sell any of their products, not that they could because their selection was a kin to the pile of s*** from Jurassic Park and it smells like it too. Its shops like this that give Gamers a bad rep.

Couldnt be more happy with the customer service provided by Antoinette and the prices at Gamers Edge in Ocala, FL! My son (7 year old) saved his money until he finally had enough and decided he was ready to make a purchase. He gathered some old games that he doesnt play in hopes he could trade in to afford an X-box. Antoinette took the time to talk to him to see what he was looking for and helped him find the right items that were age appropriate. Making sure Mom and Dad approved but for the most part letting him be the customer even though the store was packed with customers. She even made sure it fit his budget. He is so proud that he was able to buy a system and 2-games with his own money. Gamers Edge definitely has all of this familys gaming business!

This place is awesome. When youre there you feel like family. Staff is happy to help. I love to collect retro games and consoles and this is my place to go. They warranty their stuff so you can feel good about your purchase, because you are buying some old electronics thats had many many hours of game play. They bring old consoles back to life. They have a great selection of old and new pre-owned games. Its so much fun I sometimes stop in just to say hi, talk to people and see what cool stuff they got. Its the best. (I dont work there, I really do like the place)

A great place to buy, repair, rent, and/or just get info on all your gaming needs. The people are prepared and the products are excellent. Who ever heard of trying a game BEFORE you buy it? These guys did; a shining example of a gamers pinnacle of customer service and the only place you should go if you need anything for gaming. And the best part is that they dont rip you off. Thats right, their prices are either cheaper or competitive with what ever you want to buy comparative to the current market. Gamers Edge, aka, a gamers paradise.
