Returning to South Beach after almost 10 years, I couldnt wait for the opportunity to find some fun toys and high end leashes for my 4 dogs in my favorite Dog Bar Store. I walked in with my friends, and although we were casually dressed, for some odd reason, we were pegged as leash or chew bone snatchers. The scruffy looking clerk Steve followed us around the store in a creepy and stalking way, while remaining on his cell phone. While still talking on his cell, he inquired what we were looking for. I myself was looking for new fun stuff unavailable in other stores. I picked up a few items for about 60 plus dollars, but before I concluded my transaction clerk Steve awkwardly inquired about the contents of my purse including if I had a tazer gun and a pair of hand cuffs with me!!! His misplaced comments will remain etched in my memory , and, to avoid further insults, I will not return to the Dog Bar store after the way clerk Steven made us all feel like we were committing an infraction by just being there. My friends, including a pd official, were quite appalled at clerk Stevens insulting comments. You may have lost the luster of 10 years ago, but you could still make customers feel welcome, and make them want to return to buy more, unless your business is thriving so magically that you can dispense with the customer service. Bonne Chance Alexandra

I had a good experience here. Was in last week to get a new collar and leash for my rescue puppy -- a Border Collie / Retriever mix -- and the owner set me up with a nice set that perfectly matched her white and sable coat. Soft leather, with some brushed aluminum, bone-shaped appliqués, and a discrete Dog Bar logo. He also steered me away from a choke chain -- "old technology!" -- which I had been using on her for a few weeks, and on my other dog who recently passed away. In fact he does not even carry them. The new leather collar works better for a higher energy dog (she no longer gets her front legs entangled in the lead) and is certainly fashionable. Everyone in the dog park commented. The owner seems to know a bit about doing training. A little upselling other products, but thats OK. I worked in marketing / PR for a long time and appreciate the effort, especially from a local store owner. Certainly beats the bored, could-care-less attitude you get in the chain stores.

This review pertains strictly to the Dog Bars grooming facility. I have no issues with their retail section. For $280, they washed our dog (no cutting or styling) and delivered him completely wet. An entire afternoon was spent at home towel-drying the dog as were he left wet (he has long cords), his coat would have rotted and required a complete shave-down. The manager made the excuse that the groomer is operating without an assistant. The stores owner, Steven Cohen, defended the delivery of a wet dog as up to his standards. As a grooming facility, avoid at all costs. They should be ashamed of such sub-par standards being upheld by the business owner.

Have to say I was very disappointed with my visit to dog bar. When you first walk in you think, wow this is a pet store and a half. As they say you should not judge a book by its cover. I can not believe that they charge so much. The way that the staff act, pressure selling, it would indicate they are on commission and thus will attempt to sell you anything to get the number up. I was unfortunate to have been present when someone picked up their dog from the groomer. They were not impressed and I quickly left the premises.

One of my go-to places whenever I need to purchase specialty products like food, collars or medicine. The staff and owners here are very friendly and knowledgeable so it makes coming back easy :-) I love the variety of pet clothing The Dog Bar has, very cute and blinged out pieces if youre into dressing your pet, but keep in mind as with any place on South Beach it is pricey. Also a great variety of pet food and RAW FOOD which is nice since not very many places offer it.

Have shopped at the Dog Bar for over 15 years and have always had a positive experience. They continue to carry the best products and the staff and owners are very knowledgeable regarding same. The best thing they started to offer is the anesthesia free dental cleaning. I had my dogs teeth done and they looked amazing after - even my vet was impressed with how they looked. Highly recommend The Dog Bar to all pet owners!

Took my dog for 2nd time for grooming like lion cut first time was ok but today the F Up my dog! Even the cashier laugh when he saw it.. They groomed on shortest possible on his back not fading his hair like he was getting ready for a surgery also the razor lines are not straight.. Just because he was the last dog of the day they groomed anyways :/ Wish i could upload a picture from this "fancy dog boutique" work.

We bought a gift card from Dog Bar for a friend. He brought it into the store and the teller behind the counter said the card did not work. We even went as far as faxing out bank statement to show that we paid for the card. They never refunded or honored the card. We were embarrased and they lost several customers for a $50 gift card. Rude, clueless, snobby, you add the adjective...

They have cute things but it is so over priced. The owner (i believe she said she was the owner) tries to be helpful but comes off a little annoying because she thinks she is an animal expert. Every time i walk in, one employee tries to sell me on her dentals. Im all for oral hygiene for dogs bc i know its important but dont make me feel pressured.

Cute, great service, high quality products. Lots of natural and raw food choices, and plenty of samples too. Good selection of clothes for keeping the tiny ones warm, and both beautiful and cute leash and harness selection. We did not use the grooming service, but we did see them grooming 2 dogs and they looked comfortable and relaxed.

I looked at some items- some expensive ones. BOY WERE THEY HELPFUL! But unfortunately the sizes / colors were just not right. When I just bought some dog food and put it on the counter they ignored me- so I left it on the counter and walked out. Big or Small- they should pay better attention to their clients for ALL things desired!!!!
