I am changing my previous review from 5 stars to 1. They gave me good deals in setting up my first saltwater tank but they neglected in inform me of a lot of NEED TO KNOW things about the corals and fish they were selling me. Off the Hook Exotic Pets set my tank up for failure. They sold me a fish that ate about $300 worth of coral and did nothing about it besides give me a soft coral worth $40. I told them a lot of things were going wrong in my tank and they did not put forth any effort to help. After spending $2000 in their store and being loyal to their store only and buying everything from them, they were not loyal to me. I got Oddball Pets and another privately owned company to come in and look at my tanks. They informed me of a lot of things Off the Hook Exotic Pets did wrong. As this was my first saltwater tank i did not know i was supposed to be feeding the corals, removing chlorine from the water, and they sold me a filter that is only good for 20-30 gallons when my tank is 55 gal. All George kept saying was that he was an "expert" and knew what he was doing, but all he was doing was taking advantage of someone who works for a small non-profit who wanted to set up the tanks to educate the kids in the house about saltwater life. They have great reviews so they may be a good store, just keep an eye on your wallet and research everything they tell you to do for saltwater before you make a decision. I am still waiting to see if Off the Hook Exotic Pets is going to do anything about how they screwed me over.

I want to thank Off the Hook Exotic Pets for being so wonderful with my daughter on her birthday. Shes been wanting pet rats for a long time, and Ill be honest - I wasnt so sure. I reluctantly began looking into it after much convincing on my daughters part and could not find a pet store in Pittsburgh that had any...until we discovered this little gem of a place in Coraopolis, PA called Off the Hook Exotic Pets. Everyone there is so friendly and knowledgable and put us (me) at ease. The rats we brought home are the cutest, sweetest creatures ever and are enjoying nesting in their new home. Super clean and smart. They are active and playful and come greet us on their hind legs. They love to eat Cheerios and strawberries in addition to their regular food. Thank you so much for all of your help there at the store and for helping make our daughters birthday so special. I love that we can message the store any questions we have and they respond. Highly recommend them!

As relatively new Reptile owners, my wife and I, by word of mouth, found Off The Hook to be a fantastic place to get all our Reptile needs. As some of their prices on products are a bit higher, this is to be expected for their knowledge and time spent with each and every customer to ensure they are getting not only what they need for their particular pet but the training in which to use it properly. There are many other places that are far closer to my home but I will go out of my way to see all the folks at Off The Hook for all my Exotic pets needs. We now have 2 Bearded Dragons, 2 Crested Geckos, & a 3 Horned Jacksons Chameleon. They have food and vitamins for all our Reptiles needs. Thank You Off The Hook. You guys really live up to the name !!!

After getting my daughter a corn snake at a big brand pet store and it dying on her birthday we decided to get her a ball python but we wanted it older. We went on the internet and every place was about hour from us. Someone at work told my husband of this place so we went there. He had a couple that was about the age we was looking at. We really didnt have to wait long to get help since we was pretty much the only ones there at that time. George took his time with us and even said if we have problem with snake just call. It is a little higher priced and we spent now then what we expected but it was worth it. It is just him and his wife so just have to wait. They are not ignoring anyone they just like to make sure everything is good.

This is the best pet store ever!!! The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet and REALLY take there time to help you. George talked to me for over a hour about getting my fresh water tank setup and went out of his way to make sure my tank will be all good. I am so thankful i found there store. Before i did, i was running around to petco and petsmart and still had the deer in the head light look about the way i should set my tank up. George answered all my questions and took the time to explain everything to me. That type of stuff goes a long way for me and greatly appreciate it. You can say i am a customer for life. Thanks again guys.

This Place has so much to offer. I mean there are animals here that you can"t even see at the zoo! From freshwater stingrays to Gabon Vipers, American Alligators, Nile Monitors and Cobras! Not to mention endless fish and kittens!! The staff here really knows their stuff. Unfortunately at times it can take a while to get some help but that is only because the owners take such time and care in helping everyone you have to wait your turn. Seriously awesome shop. I drive an hour each week to get my supplies from here. Seriously Great!!!!

The knowledge they have here is amazing. From small pets to birds to reptiles the owners can not only supply you with your new best friend, but their store holds lots of different foods, toys, and set ups. Great prices on everything, not like the crazy mark ups from Petsmart, and they make sure you have all the knowledge you need on your new friend. I personally got 2 Conures from them, and they are the sweetest things. I dont Shop or their supplies anywhere else. Would highly recommend.

Theyve got alot of wonderful needs for those with small " uncommon pets " , like snakes geckos and such . Along with bird care, small dogs and cats . Reptiles and amphibians . . Well all sorts . . Well just ask, theyre willing to assist . . And of course theyre selling " uncommon " pets as well ! Well, just great to check out the place ! Oh yeah . . Now if you have exotic fish and such, they can probably help you with food !

I havent bought anything from them. We already have a dog,cat,and rabbit. I take the kids in to window shop or just look. They welcome everyone & take time to talk to the kids and share all sorts of interesting information. I have never been able to get my kids out of here in under an hour... Lol if you have kids be prepared ;)

Great store, friendly workers, and so many amazing animals. I really liked how they (the employees) are so willing to take out the birds and let you touch them (on the birds terms) and are so knowledgeable about all of the animals. I also love how they rescue their animals. Wonderful place.
