There are only two pros about this store: the mural on the side and the convenient location. Everything else is a disappointment. Cons: Prices: "Budget" is a bit of a misnomer since the prices arent any lower than competitors and are often times higher. Appearance: Very close, cluttered feel. Some items/displays are dusty with the majority of the packages ripped open. Selection: Very hit and miss Refund policy: understandable, though obviously enough of a irritation for customers that an exchange policy would be a decent idea for non-custom items Customer service: I had purchased something online and had it delivered to the store. I received an email that it had been shipped and that I would receive another email when it arrived. I never received the second email nor a phone call from the store regarding my item. I waited over a week after the shipping email and finally went into the store. When I asked for my purchase, the person behind the counter was impolite and acted like it was a huge inconvenience that I had left my purchase there for so long [mind you, the item was small and took up very little space]. Ive lived close to this hardware store for over a year, and so far, Ive learned to save myself the headache and to go to Home Depot in Coconut Grove or on sw 8th ave instead. This used to be the first place that I would go for hardware supplies since I live 4-5 blocks away, but now its become my very last resort... after Home depot, Target, Publix, Walmart, and online shopping.

Extremely disappointing. Walked in yesterday and purchased a special bit for a special type of screw. Asked if I may return it if its the wrong size and they said yes. Came back an hour later cause it was the wrong size and took another. Next morning I returned a second time because it was still the wrong size and wanted to return it for a refund since they did not have the correct size. They wouldnt allow me to return it. Im out $15.00 for an item that is useless to me. The stupid, I mean very stupid employee who could not even speak a word of English, in spite of saying hes worked there for 10 years, pointed to a sign on the wall which says, no returns for tools. If you cant speak or understand Spanish, dont waste your time going to this place. If you want to be cheated, shop here. This is so typical of so many stores in Miami. Lousy service, no one speaks English, tell you one thing and do another, absolutely no consideration for customer satisfaction. Never going to this place again. They lost my business for ever.

Just dropped in to have some keys made. I arrived around 10 a.m. on a weekday, and the line at the main register was SUPER long. But after waiting patiently for a few minutes under the sign at Register 3, that read "KEYS," an older gentleman kindly asked how he could help me, and in 10 minutes or so, I was on my way with 5 shiny new keys in my pocket. The service was $3.50 per key, plus tax, and it was super professional and no-hassle. For example, the key-maker didnt try to pressure me into buying novelty keys and the woman working the pay register didnt try to get me to buy any needless accessories. Plus, super-bonus, the keys actually WORK! Ill definitely return to Budget/Ace to have keys made in the future, and I highly recommend it to you, too. Its super convenient, and the keys are quality.

I come here all the time for our company remodeling projects. The prices are fair, some higher than the big box stores and some lower. The Benjamin Moore paint prices are great. Employees always ready to help you find something. They have a lot of smaller tools and supplies that you wont find at Home Depot/Lowes, not to mention a lumber supply centrally located around the Midtown/Brickell area . I mostly decided to write this review to counter another negative one that complains about not being able to return a tool. There are signs posted right in front of checkout counter stating so- its not like it isnt advertised. Overall, great place to get supplies in a pinch.

Too bad they have a ridiculous return policy and their prices are twice what youll find anywhere else. I figure they only exist for contractors in the area that have forgotten something at home depot or Lowes. Drive to home depot and avoid getting ripped off. Not competitive in price, service or selection.

Best place for hardware needs. They have things other stores dont have. The complaints from other people are mostly because they cant return tools, which the store makes explicitly is not refundable. Moreover, the policy of the store is written on the receipt and by the cashier so there are no surprises.

Terrible !!! No one even knows what a tension rod is. I went back the following day because the rod I was sold was incorrect, and brought up my concern to the manager (who tried charging me a restocking fee). Manager had no patience and told me "his employees are much better than Home Depots".

Staff is very helpful, and knowledgeable. Family atmosphere . I frequent this store for my hardware and bbq needs. Quick and easy find. Unlike Homedepot and the bigger chain stores price ranges from inexpensive to expensive. No hassle .
