My first visit to Brides of Florida was actually a great experience! I am a plus size bride, and they actually had options for me to try on! Every other bridal salon only had the smaller sizes that I couldnt even slide on. I found the dress, cried, and we paid for it and ordered it. They said six months for it to come in. This was on January 2nd. I am an out-of-state bride, so my mom handled a lot of the business with the bridal shop while I was at home. About a month after we purchased the dress, my mother called and asked for a fabric swatch so that we could match and coordinate some colors. They said they would mail it directly to me, in Illinois. This never happened. She called again and they said it had been sent and they werent sure why I never got it. They ordered another swatch and my mom picked it up at the store. At that point, my mom also ordered my veil so that it would be in when I came to Miami for my hair and makeup trial. Fast forward to June. My mom went in to pick up my veil. It was the incorrect veil, but she didnt figure that out until she got home. While she was there, she asked if my dress was in. They said yes. She asked to see it. They said it is packed away in a warehouse, so we couldnt see it. Okay, fine. We confirmed that my appointment to pick up the dress and try it on was the following Monday. On the Monday, we arrived for my appointment. They kept us waiting about 20 minutes before the lady working the desk said that my dress was at the warehouse and the UPS guy had not arrived yet. He was supposed to be there by 11. She said that she called him and he was very close. About 20 minutes later, the UPS guy arrives. At this point, they also had gotten the correct veil and steamed it. The UPS guy drops off a Maggie Sottero box, which we assume was my dress. 20 more minutes goes by and one of the ladies working hands me her cell phone and says that Mackey (the owner) wants to talk to me. She states that my dress has not arrived today due a mechanical failure from UPS. Mackey wanted to me to reschedule my appointment for the following day. Too bad for me - I was scheduled to fly home the next day. At this point, my mom and the owner had a very heated argument. Ill admit, the momzilla came out a little bit, but who can blame her when we have been LIED to multiple times and spent $1200 on a dress?! During the conversation with Mackey, the owner, my mom demanded to see the date when the dress had been ordered. It said January 8th, which is a 6 month turnaround. I called another bridal shop and they seemed to think that was fishy - their current Maggie Sottero ship date was 4 months out. However, we have no way to prove that they messed up the ordering process, unfortunately. We also saw that UPS had scheduled the dress to arrive that day and there was a mechanical failure. Stuff happens - we get it. However, the very LEAST that they could have done was a) not lie about the dress being there 2 weeks ago, b) not given us the "its at the warehouse" bit when we got there, and c) called us that morning to tell us it had not arrived! You dont wait until the person gets there to tell them that there is no dress to try on! Beware. If you do go to this bridal shop, keep on top of everything. Ask to see when the dress was ordered. Ask to see your dress as soon as it gets there. Dont fall for the warehouse bit. It was clearly a big fat lie to me! You might have a great experience - my initial appointment was very positive. But, it was all downhill from there.

I ordered my dress in May 2014. The ordering process was smooth and I was guaranteed a dress for my wedding in April 2015. When the order was placed, I asked how far in advance I should start the fittings and they said between January and February it will be fine. I made an appointment to do my first fitting (I am the bride) on January 27th. I was called that afternoon to reschedule my fitting for January 30th because they were very "busy" and had a lot of fittings that day. Mind you Tuesdays are the only days they are there late and they only do fitting on the weekdays. On Friday, I was called in the afternoon and told that I will need to come the following week because the dress they have was not in the color that I ordered. They wanted to do the fitting on the dress that was no in the right color and they would then change the pin markings to MY dress. How can you do a fitting on another dress and change the pins after? Doesnt make sense... After much back and forth, we agreed that MY dress would be in the store on February 3rd. I arrived to the store on February 3rd and was shown my dress. I had specifically ordered the dress with a zipper. The dress came with straps in the back instead of a zipper. They told me that I did not order the dress with a zipper. Mind you when the order was brought out it clearly stated "Zipper with buttons." The staff at this place was not very understanding and was telling me that they could change the dress from straps to a zipper. If I ordered the dress WITH zipper, I expect to receive the dress WITH a zipper. We asked multiple times to have them call the owner Macky and they kept telling us that "she doesnt answer." After multiple disagreements at the store with the store personnel, the owner "called" back (perfect timing right?). I spoke to the owner and we agreed that on February 4th, the dress will arrive with the zipper. on February 4th, the owner called me and told me that the dress will be coming in but my mother is not allowed to come into the store. How can you tell a bride that her mother is not allowed to come into the store. That is absolutely the worst customer service ever and completely disrespectful to me. I asked the owner what my options were at this point and if she would refund the money to me and she responded "I would gladly refund your money." My wedding is in 2 months and this is what I am dealing with. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. The owner does not have any class nor customer service and will not work with you on anything.

Brides beware! This salon has horrible customer service and even worst attention to detail. My first appointment everything went great found a dress I loved everyone was so sweet. I payed for my dress right away no issues there. My dress finally arrived so it was fitting time. Everything and everyone changed. The owner Maggie is extremely rude she has zero customer service does not know how to run a business not to mention one that has to deal with people. On my fitting they just had to take in the sides a bit and add cups to the front. I also requested to add some stones to the whole front dress. I came back the next appointment and they had done a horrible job. My dress fit worse than the first time and they put three stones claiming that had taken the seamstress four hours to complete and if I wanted more I would have to pay her by the hour. I simply said that was not what I asked for and asked for it to be removed. The owner has an attitude and little does she know that in that type of business reviews and her attitude make or break her business. She was so rude she even told me when she saw brides in there so many times (5)she started questioning wether it was the bride that had a problem. I told her good thing this is my third time here and its my wedding day I want everything perfect. They even labeled me as "special case" which I only know because they wrote it on my fitting card! Can you Believe these people? Absolutely no respect for anyone. I had to to practice patience since they had my most beautiful dress for my perfect day I couldnt risk that. I went back to pick up my dress 3 weeks later and they gave me my dress in a dirty packaging. My dress was not even pressed and was full of hair and threads everywhere. Not to mention the veil I rented from them was a disaster. Thank god I opened it and checked it I feel dont of them because it had huge holes everywhere from being stepped on it was broken( they clearly didnt even check it before giving it to me) worst part is.. They wouldve charged me $600 for it claiming they gave it to me in perfect condition! After talking to other brides they told me very similar and even worse stories. Be careful!! Stay away. I do not recommend this place to anyone!
