West marine does not stand behind their warranties and outright lies to customers just to make sales. A few months ago I purchased a West Marine brand 10.2ft inflatable boat along with a gas outboard engine. After extremely minimal use I noticed discoloration around all of the seams of the dinghy. After some light cruising on the New River the discoloration spread significantly and in a bunch of new areas. Started to look really bad.. I thought, oh well must be a Defective product. The manager who sold me the boat, Tim, (who conveniently transfered to the California store right before I brought the inflatable back) told me if ANYTHING happened to the boat, just bring it in and itll be fixed or replaced no charge. (I was hesitant because Ive read the west marine brand has had some issues. I brought the boat in and the new manager, Bill, attempted to help me to the best of his ability, which really isnt saying much in his favor. An hour and some change later he finally figured out the process of how to process the warranty. Should hear back from them in a couple days, ok cool thanks I had to follow up with them multiple times and nobody was ever around to help. Waited multiple times for calls back, nothing conclusive. This morning I was a little fed up with the lack of attention I was getting compared to when they sold me the boat. Finally got through to good ol Bill. Turns out he forgot to call me to let me know that they arent going to uphold their warranty and I can come pick my boat up the way I left it! Defective products, sleazy salespeople, and a company who does not stand behind their word. I should have done a little more research because this is the case time and time again for West marine customers.

Really great store for all things related to boating and water sports. Its a clean, nice, well stocked, makes you feel like a kid in a candy store type of place. Or, like another reviewer said " The Lowes of marine products". They even have a nice outdoor clothing section. While I really like to see and hold stuff before I buy and I appreciate "brick & mortar" stores even though Im a millennial.... I just cant handle West Marines prices compared to the online retailer that will not be named. Marine equipment is expensive as it is, but West Marine makes you feel like youve got to be downright rich to play. So the best way to shop at West Marine is to join their loyalty program and wait for coupons / sales to hit your mailbox and your inbox before visiting the store.

La ropa nautica, además de no tener variedad de las mejores marcas como Musto, HH, Henry Lloyd y Gil lo poco que tienen es caro. El resto impecable, buen servicio y variedad de productos.

West Marine is one of the worst places Ive ever been. Unless you know exactly what you need, the personnel is very unfriendly or even rude and leave you alone as soon as they get a chance. I was there to buy substantially to equip a newly bought vessel. As a matter of fact, these people "helped" me a lot by not being helpful at all, because afterwards I went to the nearby Boat Owbners Warehouse where personnel was very happy to help and advise and (thank you West Marine!), I saved hundreds of dollars.

Great store with friendly associates. They may not have all the answers but they are willing to learn right along with you. They may not have the parts you need in stock but they can order pretty much anything. Not the best for price but here in Lauderdale you have many more choices for marine goods so shop around if you need and they still price match a store within 50 miles.

West has become another retail outlet. Asked three people if they had "monel seizing wire." Two didnt know what it was, the third told us the wrong isle. Finally looked it up in the catalog ourselves. They do not carry it. I remember when West was the place to go...not anymore. Also overpriced compared to other places.

I came here just to get a pair of Costa sunglasses. While they had a great selection, once I picked out my pair they had a really hard time finding the box for the pair I wanted. After waiting 30 minutes, they finally decided to give me another box, but it was a very long wait for no reason (from the customer perspective).

Good selection of high end gear, along with a decent line up of all the top aquatic apparel brands. Electronics department does not have any mounting equipment as of July 26,2017 which is really weird so if you are looking for a way to mount the gps you just bought youll have to go online.

Dan in Electronics - here is a hint for successful customer service. Dont interrupt you customer on the phone, dont continually tell your customer why something cant happen and try to reach beyond your structured existence and find solutions to a customers stated problem. Good luck!

Great selection, seems a little expensive but also seems quality. Of course that goes hands in hand. Good friendly service. They have a rewards program and I just joined. Lose your receipts they have it on record.

Biggest West Marine Ive ever seen. They have everything from EPIRBs to spear guns to stainless hardware. About anything you could need for boating.
