SHOP PRICES FIRST BEFORE BUYING AT COUNTY! County TV just had to refund us over $400 for an item we purchased from them recently when we came across the same model at a much lower price just a few days later! Weve been customers of County for over 30 years. Years ago, you had to get a price quote elsewhere/bring an ad, before shopping there as they didnt put price stickers on their items. Now, County puts prices on most items BUT you still need to price shop before shopping there, or anywhere, as we just found out. And being a repeat/loyal customer means nothing. Late last year, we purchased a 50” plasma HDTV from County; our salesman was extremely knowledgeable & we got a good tv via his knowledge. (we already had a 60” Pioneer Kuro in our living room, & he did a good job at finding something similar, but less expensive, for one bedroom) We are replacing our old tv’s with HDTV’s, so last week we returned to County & asked for the same salesman who sold us 42” and 54” plasma HDTV’s at what we thought was a fair price. We didn’t price shop first, as we assumed our salesman would “take good care of us” as repeat customers… Both tv’s were already “on sale” according to the stickers that showed retail, sale & new sale prices, and our salesman took off another $100+ dollars, so we walked out thinking we were treated fairly, but based our thinking on nothing but trust….how dumb was that? Well, a few days after our new tv’s were delivered we noticed our 54” (exact same) model was $400 less at another tv/appliance store! (we were looking for tv stands). I took cell phone photo of model number/size/price & immediately called County & asked for our salesman who told me I couldn’t use a cell photo, but needed a written quote because he needed to “show proof to Panasonic” & then he could get us a refund”! We were still in this other store at this point, and one after another, their salesmen tried and tried to get us to return our tv to County & buy same model from them. Once we all found out that our tv couldn’t be returned, we were ignored & couldn’t get that written price quote I needed for my County match-price refund. (County won’t take back tv’s over 32” so I needed to get this quote! $400 is a ton of money!) So with no written quote, and only a cell phone photo, & no way to return our still-in-the-box 54” tv, I called County back & spoke to a manager. He was alarmed that our salesman told us we needed a written quote & that my cell photo wouldn’t work for them. He told me to come in with my cell photo & they’d refund my credit card, which they did as we couldn’t get there quick enough….and made it 10 mins before they closed! Before you buy a big sticker item, be sure to run back and forth & get prices before you buy so you don’t go through what we did. County is no different from any of them: they all sock it to those who don’t walk in prepared. We missed these steps as we were too trusting, banking on our 30 yr history & our “favorite” salesman from our last purchase to honor our business & to get a fair price. But a $400+ price difference is just ridiculous! (note that this $400 is just for the 54” tv, as they didn’t have the 42” model so I couldn’t get a price on that one, but I will if I can!) Bottom line: The competition is fierce out there so the prices are insanely diverse for same model numbers! DO YOUR RESEARCH! At least County TV still refunds price differences should you make the mistake we did, but expect to work for the refund and maybe be told a little lie just to make you work harder to get that refund. This is just bad business & County TV has left us feeling duped (but justice in the end!) And one salesman has lost a loyal customer, and perhaps County too. I write this with the hope that our experience will help someone else. We were just stupid to believe that loyalty means anything in the marketplace in this day & age.

County Appliance is the real deal. In business for decades, great selection, patient and caring sales persons who reply to email even on a Sunday evening. Excellent installers who dont mind coming back if something is not ready to be installed even though you think it is (AC outlet in wrong place). If I am however being totally honest which I always am in reviews, and this is only in small part a fault of County Appliance (for them failing to point this out), the Sub-Zero fridge I purchased is disappointing in one very large way. And shame on Sub-Zero for this. I purchased their French-door model, 42" wide. Its a beautiful and very expensive appliance. I have owned 2 prior French-door fridges, one a Kenmore Elite and a Samsung. They all work the same way. The door on the left has an elongated "flapper" for lack of a better word that enables both doors to seal shut. I never had a problem on my two prior ones. On the much, much more expensive Sub-Zero, if one pulls the left door open softly, the flapper will not always fold flat. If one then closes the right door first, the flapper when closing the left door will slam against the right door. This is a horrible design defect. I was informed by County when I complained that all Sub-Zero French Door fridges do that. I wish I had been shown that before purchase. That would for sure have been a deal breaker and I would never have purchased it.

County gave us the absolute best prices, in all of Fairfield County, and maybe CT & NY, on our appliance!! We did a lot of research and discovered no one could beat their prices. They also passed along $750.00 in rebates from the MFG! However, they truely surpassed themselves in AMAZING customer service with the three young men who delivered our new appliances! Not only did they delivery in the time frame they said they would, but they called 30 minutes before actually showing up to let us know they were on their way. All of this is what you would expect of good customer service, right? Well, what put these guys over the top is when they arrived, my husband and I were carrying our old kitchen cabinet out of the garage, breaking them apart, and placing them in the dumpster. Well to my utter shock, these guys jumped right in and helped carry the cabinets out and proceeded to break them apart and throw them in the dumpster!!!! When I thanked them, they said that is what they were there for!! To me, that is so far above and beyond any level of service you receive from most companies!!! I say kudos to County Appliances for their customer service and appreciation and for hiring amazing gentleman!!!

My wife and i recently went through a kitchen reno and found County last in our appliance search. We purchased high end appliances where there isnt any wiggle room (in terms of price) amongst other retailers, but their willingness to accomodate our changing schedule so easily was very helpful throughout the reno. I changed the delivery date three times and County had no issue at all with it. The sales rep Fernando was amazing and helped throughout the entire process. His knowledge of the inventory was amazing as well as his communication during the order, scheduling, and delivery. He processed the rebates and gifts we were eligible for without request and followed the process all the way to finish. He even answered emails within minutes. The delivery crew was just as great. No damage and nothing but helpful. I dont typically review businesses, but County was the only reliable and on time vendor during our project with no suprises. I would recommemd these guys for any service they provide especially if youre planning a construction or kitchen reno. Super reliable group. Thanks Fernando!!!
