College Student Scores A Real Deal! At the time I first went to Gates Nissan, I hade been to at least 8 dealers before and had already began my car shopping. Originally I was used car shopping at Gates which is how I first meet Brian Philips. Over the course of a week he and I looked at several used cars and had even taken some for a test drive. Days after my first test drive with Brian, I had came across the 2012 Nissan Cube on their lot. Brian listened to what I was looking for and my needs and told me that the Cube was a perfect match. Being a Under Graduate College Student at Eastern Connecticut State University, I needed the most for my money and more importantly, I needed something that could not only last me a long time but also something that could overall fit my pace of life. Overall, we took the Cube for a total of 3 test drive. One on a stander route, one on a route with sharp turns and steep hills and finally one to my university. All the time Brain treated me with the upmost respect as a customer as if I was buying one of their more expensive models on the lot. Brian had sold me on the car and so I put a deposit down so that the financing could be done over the next day or so. Nick Truax was the man who overall got me approved for me car loan. Nick made it so that I was able to get a brand new car at a monthly payment that was not only in my price range but also was in the same ball park as the used cars I was looking. I dont know how Nick did it, but he worked some magic and got me approved without a co-signer which was a concern at the time. Brian and Nick even convinced my mom when it came to the car purchase which was a condition of the final sale. Since I live at home still, my parents had to be onboard with the purchase. The reason why I gave Gates Nissan the ratting that I have is because of amount of time and effort he put into finding me a car that not only I could afforded but was also good fit for my life. Gates gave me the most money for my trade and made a car I really wanted affordable to me. I never had the intention to buy new but Gates made me realize that it was a possibility. Even after the sale of my new car, Brain still makes himself available to me if I have any questions about my Cube. Gates Nissan has gained a new lifetime customer as well as my sincerest gratitude for finding me find a new car.

Ive been considering buying an Xterra since November but Ive been waiting to sell my house. Im planning on moving to a warmer part of the country and didnt want to expose a new vehicle to snow and road salt. I was pretty concerned when Nissan announced that 2015 would be the last year for this vehicle. All of a sudden its mid July and I know that if I dont get one soon Im gonna be out of luck. To complicate matters, I have a pretty specific idea of what I want (Pro 4x, Standard Tranny and tow package). I start by going to a large volume dealer in the central part of the state. I get the old "we dont have one on the lot but well call you when we find one" line--Im still waiting for THAT call. Next I go online and find a match at a dealership in Southeastern CT. I call and arrange a test drive that afternoon. Wouldnt you know it but when I get there, the vehicle Im interested in "just got sold". Mind you this is TWO HOURS after I called. Of course they tried to get me to buy what they had on their lot. Now were getting close to the end of production for the Xterra. Ive wasted a couple of weeks trying to chase down the vehicle I want. According to Nissans website theres only about 3 vehicles set up the way I want in all of New England. My wife sees something on Gates Nissans website saying that they can get the vehicle you want. I roll the dice and send them an email. I get a prompt response both by phone and email. They will make a few calls and get back to me. This is on a Friday. By Monday theyve found my car. I go down Tuesday to make a deposit. By Thursday the car is prepped and ready to go WITH my add-on step rails installed. I would have drive it away happily that night except that nobody told me they needed a bank check for my down payment (I guess people dont put a lot of money down on cars anymore). Anyway we cleared all that up this morning and Im another happy customer. My salesman, Jay did a great job getting exactly the vehicle I wanted. Even though Ive been on Nissans website at least once a week for the past six months he seemed to know more about the truck than me as he was going over the features. And never once during the whole buying experience did i feel like I was getting pressured.

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! My husband and I went to get a new vehicle to fit our growing family and I am trying to save you the frustration we went through. Jimmy the manager was rude and insulting. The dont take everything in trade....any car that is under a certain year they will tell you "We cant take it because it will need to go to auction...." Sell it on craigslist they told us. Then they told us we can put down some money and get it back if we dont follow through, but Jimmy said he wasnt giving us any back because he has to pay his workers for transporting the vehicle for us to see the car...BS I KNOW!! Nothing was explained to us step by step. They kind of just pushed us around stepped all over us for a stupid sale. They took our IDs filled out the paperwork when all we wanted was an estimate first. Now 3 inquiries later on our credit we get approved. Start asking questions and yet no one knows the answer but the financial adviser who finalizes the paper work. Well we got to him and ask if we can see another car if we couldnt afford the one we wanted. Thats not what they wanted to hear, he got Jimmy involved and when we said we would walk away they finally did "ALL THEY COULD DO". This was a birthday present gone wrong and after this mentally exhausting experience they continue to be jerks. NOT COVERING ANYTHING UNDER WARRANTY!! They blamed bend rims on us After a few days saying "IT WAS OUR FAULT!!" We brought the vehicles in multiple times and the "MECHANICS" couldnt even do a proper oil change without leaving some oil out.....I know because my husband is a real mechanic......DON"T WAST YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND FRUSTRATION ON THIS PLACE!! YOU WILL REGRET IT AND THEY ARE ONLY ABOUT SALES...... ONE LAST THING, my mother referred us to them and they have a program where they give you $100 if you refer someone.....3 Months later and she hasnt gotten anything....AND THEY WANT ME TO REFER OTHERS TO THEM!! HAHA....NOT!!
