I bought a 2008 Jeep Compass at James Auto. Anna was extremely nice, at first. The car looked clean inside and out. They let me start it up but would not let me take it for a ride on the road, but everything seemed to be in order. 2 days after the purchase check engine light came on along with multiple other lights. I took it to a garage and they told me it was obvious that the lights were just cleared from the system without fixing any problems. When I went back to James Auto and I would not work with me at all saying that there is no warranty. I ended up paying out of pocket at a garage for multiple problems that cost me over $1,000 on the 4th day of having the car. The garage told me they were missing pieces underneath the hood and multiple things were jerry-rigged. 2 Days Later the transmission went another $2,500 out of my pocket. I owned the car for four months and was in and out of the garage every week, no exaggeration. All four wheel bearing assemblies were replaced, all four axles or replaced, the clutch and clutch kit along with the slave cylinder needed to be replaced. The brakes all the way around were no good after 2 weeks including calipers rotors and pads. Also had to replace all the anti-lock brake sensors. I started burning gas like crazy in the car with skipping turns out the spark plugs and needed to be replaced also. The gas tank needed to be replaced which I ended up finding at a junkyard but there was a leak in the gas tank and so much sediment inside that the gas pump would not even fill the tank with gas. There was so much rust underneath that was not visible at first, the garage told me they just painted over it. The Jeep also had 3 different size tires on it which was not visible to the naked eye because it was only a slight difference but still... also had to replace the entire intake manifold the four-wheel-drive would not work because the transfer case was shot so I had to replace that also. I alternate Lee ended up trading the car in because after all of this I started hearing a loud noise from the rear end. I brought it to the garage and I was told the whole rear end needed to be replaced which would have cost me another $4,000. I put almost $6,000 of my own money into repairs in a matter of four months. I had less than perfect credit so I was desperate at the time but luckily I took the Jeep to Charles Toyota in Norwich Connecticut and they made miracles happen. Accepted the car as a trade in and gave me maximum value along with putting me in a brand new Toyota Corolla for $4,000 less than MSRP. Buyer beware do not go to James Auto

This place is a used car dealership that provides very good verity of cars at very reasonable prices. The best thing for me was that they helped me to obtain financing on a vehicle with very comfortable for me terms. I loved the car, the service, and the people that work there. They do try very hard to help their customers to get into a vehicle of your choice! They also do very good job on getting the car ready for delivery. I waited for mine for a few days, but it did worth a wait since they did replace a few parts free of charge and made me feel a lot better when I drove the car away from the parking lot. One thing to note, they sell USED CARS and that says it all!!! If youre looking for a brand new Mercedes and have lots of $$$, I do not think its worth you trip. However, if you are a hard working person and do not have much money to spend for a decent vehicle, they are the dealer that would bend backwards to help you! Thank you guys!!!

Bought a 2004 jeep liberty exactly 30 days ago, and it is already in the shop because of a coolant leak. The entire buying process was a huge mess, and the service was less than satisfactory. Very rude owner who acted like I was bothering her. Wouldnt let me test drive the car on the road due to the fact that it hadnt undergone a safety test, which is something that should be done immediately. The owner was also using the car despite the lack of safety check, and took it to Washington D.C. and back so the advertising mileage was not the exact mileage. The car was not ready for pick up on the day the owner said it would be, but instead 3 days later, and the alignment was never done, which is something they said they were going to do.

I was very surprised! I heard mixed stories about this place. I have lived in the area for many years, James auto had the car I always wanted in their lot. So I went to check it out and had a fantastic experience. I delt wit their Sales Manager from their other Lot his name was David and he was awesome my kids loved him! I bought this car over a month ago, before I thought of putting this Review up. I am glad I remembered. THANKS DAVID!! & Anna and to the mechanix at James auto! you where all gr8 :) :) :) :) I felt respected and David & Anna took the time to make sure I was happy. & everything she promised I received as I should have.. A+

I would not tell anyone to go here. A lot of the vehicles have mechanical issues and many other problems. With that being said the woman is asking for the full kelly blue book value as if it were in excellent condition when the vehicle is far from it. She also refuses to come down on the price and gets angry if you do not purchase it. When it comes to test driving the vehicle, she does not want you to take it to the highway at all, she wants you to just drive around the small roads around the dealership. Which makes no sense at all.

i think anna is a not a not person at all... she sold us a van with 3 kids that broke down with in a yr of us paying it... the disrespect ton how she treat ppl is not nice... they are a rip off be careful b4 u get anything from this place ... i would never go back there again... i told my brother to go there and he did the same .... he got a car from there and with in 3 days it was broken.. she took it back and kept it for over 2 months while he was paying for it and put him in a most shitty car... be very careful b4 u go to her

Great scam going on here. Sell you a car with a 50/50 warranty, problem is they never really fix the car before they sell it to you so you have to come back and pay for half the parts that should have already been put in your car prior to sale. We needed to get an attorney our car broke down the first time within 24 hours - had duck tape over a hole in the radiator, one week later car is dead. They do not stand behind their word or their cars. BUYER BEWARE!!!
