I just took my 15 year old ShitzaPoo dog to the PETCO Grooming. First, they said they would call between 2-3 hours. As it approached 3 hours, I went back to PETCO to wait for my dog. While walking in, I could see from the window that things were not going well. The woman was doing something to his front left paw that he clearly did not like and as he attempted to bite her, she yanked his back left leg. Although I understand the biting is not acceptable, her reaction was too extreme. In this example and knowing my dog well, I know that even if he did bite it wouldnt hurt and that he is a very nice dog. I would have much preferred to see the woman leave my dog alone for a minute and then retry to do whatever it was she was trying to do before. Animals cannot speak or truly fight back when they are mistreated. A dog is another member of someones family and to see an employee who signed up for a job working with dogs treat him so wrong is disgusting and unacceptable.

I went in today to look around since I was in the area. I was raised up with my mom working at petco and my grandma. I was disgusted by the lack of care in the reptile department. There was no fresh salads, tropical species were left dry. One ball python was severely dehydrated and had stuck shed head to tail. Also snakes are not supposed to be housed together for safety reasons. The albino nelsons milkshake was underfed and also dehydrated. Once we reached the small animal department we noticed that a baby guinea pig was severely ill. The breathing was heavy and sat in the house. Anybody could see that the guinea pig is ill and needs to see a vet asap. The sun conures perch had a stack of poop on it. Animals are supposed to be cared for each morning and if the care was given this poop wouldnt be present. This petco brought disgrace to the petstore chain.

I cant speak for the actual store, but can speak on my grooming experience which was not good at all. My dog is a pug who only needs a wash, deshedding and nail trim. We usually go to PetCo in Middletown (which we love!) and it takes usually an hour tops. I left him at the Farmington one and went to run errands. I returned within an hour and the groomer was actually "on break" and said he wouldnt be ready for another hour and a half. She seemed more concerned about her break than my time or dogs care. Not only did I not even see my dog, but I saw the way the staff treated the other dogs. Aggressive tones and harsh behaviors towards them. He was never so happy in his life to see me. Needless to say we will be going to Middletown from here on out.

Brought dog in to get the a little cut, wash and grooming for 23$. I spoke with them on the phone and thats the price they told me. once I arrived and dropped the dog off I asked again how much it would be they said 23. i was fine with that and came back in 30 min and come to find out it was 30$, not the amount they promised. it turns out they charged me extra for the grooming when they said it was included. I contacted them by phone ( The Petco customer service ) and they agreed to give me 2 10$ coupons by email. i still have not received it or have gotten any sort of apology for the mix up. Over priced and really bad service. STAY AWAY!!!

Stay away from this store! We had our dog Riley in to get groomed a few weeks ago. While he was on the table he was attacked by a St Bernard. He had multiple bite wounds and needed surgery. The groomer was a complete amateur and had no idea how to handle dogs. Any groomer should know you should not have 2 dogs together in a confined space like that! We had to pay the vet bills out of our own pocket (over $1000). Petco has still not reimbursed us. They didnt even bother to check on how Riley was after the incident. What a shame.

If I could do no stars, I would. The actual store itself is great but the grooming salon is horrendous. It took four hours for them to even start grooming my dog. They used his age and size as excuses for it taking so long, both of which are not valid. The manager said that theyve had problems with their groomers but havent been able to do anything because no one ever submits formal complaints. Im still waiting for him to be finished and its been almost five and a half hours.

Horrible!!! I took my dog for grooming and since the beginning the ladys that work there they were both very rude, on top of that they kept my dog for 4 hours and when I came to pick him up as soon as we went out the door my dog starts coughing and like he couldnt breath, obviously they miss handle my dog hurting his throat !!! Do not take your dog there!!!! If I could I would give this review a minus star!

Terrible experience in grooming. They shaved my dog down to almost nothing , the cut is very uneven. They keep the dog all day and are expensive. A full grooming price does not include nail filing or brushing of fur. So those are added to the "full grooming" price. My dog shakes like a leaf every time I take him in a pet store. Hes terrified. DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED AT PETCO!!!

I love this store because they are very friendly to me and my wife every time for the most part they visually know us and always greet us fast we I like the fact that if someone doesnt know about a subject they guide us to the correct person the staff is awesome keep up the great job Brandon, Kim, Maria and the rest of the team great job

This store is great everyone is very friendly and always happy to help. The grooming department is the also the best we only bring our lab/mix dog here and they take care of everything we need and our dog is always happy going. Always a great experience going to Petco.

The cookie bar always empty and when some of cookies filled all duplex cookies and a lot of small cookies how about big dogs that like the honey glazed donut ones and Carbo chip cookies and they never help you awful service

We get our pet food/toys here and the store always has sample treats out so we like to bring our dog in and he enjoys exploring the store. The store is typically very clean and the staff is friendly.
