By far the worst pawn shop in CT. I always bring stuff to them first because they are 2 streets over from me and always get insulted by low ball offers. They dont take the time to research items. They take the items to someone else in the back or make a phone call. I always go somewhere else and get offered 5-10 times the amount this joke of a pawn shop offers. Go to them first for a good laugh before getting a real offer at a place like Silas Deane or even Yankee Peddler. Yes, I just put Yankee Peddler ahead of Good Ol Toms in East Hartford. That should tell you something...

Prices paid on gold are shockingly low. Prices offered on silver coins even worse. Go anywhere else and get %60 more or better. He offered $230 on gold, went to a jewelry store in Bristol CT and was offered and accepted $563. Just a slight difference!!!!. How he gets away with those scam artist commercials and poor business practices should make your head spin as it does mine. Still, as I always do and always say we should all do every day, pray for him and wish him well regardless.

I went to the Good Old Toms in West Hartford in Bishops Corner. I had seen all the ads on TV. I didnt have anything to sell but I figured I might be able to find some great antique jewelry. I did and I bought some very unique items that I would never be able to find at a normal store. I cant comment on how much they would offer me if I wanted to sell jewelery. But if youre looking for unique items, this is a place to go to.

I agree that this place is a scam. I called ahead and asked if they purchased diamonds, and was told yes. Once I arrived, they tell me, they only purchase single diamonds of 1 carat or larger. I had NOT even taken out my set of 1.5 total weight earrings (.75 each) and original paperwork! Did it ever occur to them to divulge this information over the phone?

I purchased a 2009 United States Mint Silver Proof Set and 2009 Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar Deep Cameo from them, having ordered it online via Collectors Corner. They shipped on the same day they received the order and I received them the next day via USPS Priority Mail in perfect condition. I would gladly do business with them again.

what a rip-off, i called a head and ask about the jewelry before i went their because i was coming from spfld. what a drive anyway spent the gas to get their only to put it back in the tank .they check out your back ground, kept me their for a half hour haned the check than he said you can go now. never again...............!

They pay so low on gold, i was told i could get 4300 for the mixed gold i had, went to gold cash in, in rocky hill and talked to this Jamaican guy, he was super cool and was like WAT ill give you like 5 grand for that.

I brought some small pieces of my wifes old gold jewelry there and was offered $90. Brought it to our family jeweler and got over $200. Wicked scam. I mean, yes you have to make a profit, but shop around people.

I brought in a 1oz 18k gold coin. They offered me $418.00. I brought the same coin to CT Gold and Silver Brokers that same day and received $1,118! Outrageous!

Do not buy or sell here total rip off.. I bought a coin for $115 and needed rent money two months later they offered me twenty dollars for it

Walked in and must say the silver coin prices were higher than other stores that I have been to. They did have some higher end items.

They are the worst place to sell gold. You will get 50% more at other places. Try gold and silver exchange on 6 th avenue in Tucson!
