Horrible service, I ordered a cake for my nephews birthday about three months prior. The pick up time was at 1pm when I arrived, the lady asked for the name it was under and when I told her she looked puzzled. She than went to the back and I can hear her whispering to someone. She than comes back out and tells me it would be about 20 more minutes because they were "running behind". I left, went to starbucks and returned about 30min later. When I arrived I was asked if I would like to pay for the balance because that the cake was just about ready. I paid, and waited and waited for another 30min. Totaling the wait to an hour! When the cake was brought out it was horrible work! I know for a fact that they added the decorations/detail in that hour wait because they were horribly done. I asked for refund/or at least half off, and they did not want to! Instead they took down my number to call me another day and try and see how they could fix this problem. Havent heard from them and probably wont. I was about an hour late to the birthday because of them not having it done at the time it was supposed to be. If they cant make the cakes by a certain time and professionally made, than they shouldnt book so many cakes or they need to hire more workers! I do not recommend this place to anyone.

This bakery is amazing. I was hesitant to use them at first due to some of the reviews but I have tasted there cakes through friends birthday parties and absolutely loved them. Last year they made my daughter a pokemon cake that still gets talked about to this day. This year they topped it in my opinion with a Harry Potter birthday cake. I even threw them for a loop. Originally the cake was supposed to just lack most of the toppers (snitch, glasses, and wand) since I had ordered custom cake toppers online. Those failed to come in so I called three days before the party and they added the toppers without hesitation. Everyone at the party kept commenting on how cool it looked and I deeply regretted cutting into the cake when it was time to be served...for five seconds. The taste was amazing. Rich, moist, and best of all it didnt crumble everywhere. Everyone at the bakery was very nice and knowledgeable on how to make the cake we wanted at the best price. I did NOT pay an arm or a leg for either cake even though it looks like I would have based on the images Im providing. I will always be ordering my cakes though them.

After tastings at Cakes by Karen and Childs, we ended up ordering our wedding cake from A Cake Occasion. Their cakes tasted incredible and were very reasonably priced. The amazing smell of the bakery and the constant stream of customers whenever we were there make a big impression on us as well. They did a wonderful job copying the fun spotted cake I had a picture of, using buttercream icing with fondant dots of varying sizes and bright citrus colors. They were very professional, and delivered right on time. It was a HUGE hit at the wedding; we received many compliments on the way it looked. It held up wonderfully, even though it was the hottest day of the summer with no air-conditioning inside, and tasted amazing! The top even tasted great after sitting in our fridge for a week. We were very pleased, and will use them again and again. We are looking forward to our FREE anniversary cake next summer! :) Id like to express my immense gratitude to the staff at A Cake Occasion for helping make our day so special.

Wow the worst customer service I have ever came across from a professional bakery owner. I will never buy any more cakes from A cake Occasion. They quote you one price and then when you go to pick it up they charge you more. They out of the blue decided to charge me a additional $10.00 for decorating. You should be told that is extra. Isnt putting icing on a cake, and decorating it why your in business? The owner treated me like Im making prices up and basically called me a liar. Then the owner proceeds to ask me if $10.00 really makes a difference. Yes it does when your treated poorly. If your going to quote someone then you need to honor what you said and not treat your cusomers that way. Then to have the nerve to call me back and say I was not ever welcome in the store again and tell me a few more rude things that I cant say on the internet is a poor excuse of a business owner. Like I really I would ever set foot back in that store and hope others will take caution before ordering from this bakery.

My husband ordered a rather simple cake from them for my birthday. Chocolate with raspberry filling and icing on top, no flowers just H- Bday and my name. He should have ordered in a more timely manner (2 1/2 days), but they did say they could make the cake for him. When he got there to pick it up, it wasnt ready and they smeared the top trying to finish. Not a huge ordeal I guess. So the good points: 1) it was moist, 2) the icing had good flavor and was smooth. The bad points: 1) that filling was NOT real!! it was gel. I know cake and I know fillings. 2) If you cant make a simple cake in a short manner just say sorry I cant. 3) The price for that cake was ridiculous!!! I can make better and will at home. My husband just didnt want me to make my own cake this year. We wont be back. You get 3 stars because my husband wasnt timely.

We bough our wedding cake from A Cake Occasion. I showed them a picture of a cake I loved and they said they could replicate it, it had a paisley design. The day of our wedding, the cake was AN HOUR late arriving and our florist had to wait around to put flowers on the cake. The worst part is that the cake was absolutely hideous! It looked like a 3 year old decorated it with globs of brown clay, or gingerbread men! Guests were asking if it was supposed to be a gingerbread man cake, but it was supposed to be paisley! I was so embarrassed I wanted them to take the cake in the back and just cut it when it was ready. Our wedding photographer and caterer said it was absolutely the worst cake they have ever seen. I would NOT recommend purchasing your wedding cake here, it was an absolute embarrassment and disappointment.

I was shopping for my sons 9th birthday cake on 10/16/15 and visited several different cake shops. I was looking for something fresh and unique. While I was looking at options at A Cake Occasion, the owner walked in and was carrying several King Soopers bags filled with Betty Crocker cake mixes..... what a disappointment. I left immediately. I wanted something made from scratch not from a box! In addition, the customer service sucked! The staff who helped me was not very helpful. I was asking if anyone was familiar with Five Nights at Freddys and they simply said sorry, No. If this was my shop I would have been more helpful by asking additional questions and offering to look it up online.
