So I ordered a birthday cake on a Friday to be picked up the following Monday morning. Called in the order and the lady I spoke to was very nice and helpful in answering questions I had about options listed on her website. Never gave me a price on the cake, so wasnt sure how expensive it would be, but it was my own birthday cake so I wasnt overly concerned. Showed up at the agreed time on Monday morning (8AM) and was greeted by the baker, who told me the cake wasnt ready amongst apologies. She offered to deliver it, but I told her delivery wasnt an option, so she promised it would be ready the next morning. I asked if there was something we could work out, like a discount, and she emphatically agreed and said Id get 50% off the cake. That was more than enough for me so I left. Came back next morning at agreed time (7:30AM) and was met by I believe the owner. Apparently there was some confusion about the time, as they thought I would show up at 8 again rather than 7:30, though I clearly stated the latter the day before. The cake still wasnt ready. She was very apologetic and said the wait would be about 10 mins. Once it was done, not only did she give me the cake for free, but also threw in a $25 gift certificate to her shop. I was honestly blown away by the generosity, Ive never been compensated so much for a business screw-up. The cake itself was great. The decorating was interesting - a bit unexpected, but not unpleasant; and the cake tasted excellent (I got vanilla with amaretto filling and vanilla cream icing). I took it to work to share with my coworkers and it was gone in 3 days (it was a big cake). Im more than willing to give them another shot when the time arrives, and aside from the miscommunication issue, theyre a good little business.

Though my story does not begin well, I give credit to Mischa for trying to make it right. My original research showed excellent reviews for the place. I went in and pre-ordered and paid for a cake for my daughters birthday 3 weeks in advance. On the morning of pick-up, was told I didnt have an order in and when they finally figured it out, they had forgotten to make her cake! They attempted to fix it by saying they would make her a cake and bring it to her party in time for the start of it (this was about 20 mins or less before her party was to begin). I was curious to see how they planned on making a cake in 20 mins. They showed up shortly after the party began with the cake. I will give them credit for doing a great job with the outside of the cake, it looked fantastic, picture perfect, but once I cut into it, the inside did not look how it was supposed to, which she did tell me that it wouldnt due to lack of time. Considering they had 3 weeks to make the cake, I find that to be a terrible excuse. The buttercream between each layer of cake was cold and still frozen! When the assistant brought it to the party, she told me well we couldnt make a fresh cake because that would have taken more time and we needed to get it to the party. A couple days later Mischa did get ahold of me and apologized for the confusion. It was a horrible mistake, a fluke if you will, and not their usual fantastic service. She offered to give my money back and a gift certificate towards my next cake. I will consider giving them another try the next time I need a cake and I just know(at least I really hope) that my next cake will be flawless!

Icing On The Cake is the best kept bakery treasure in Colorado Springs! My son & I ordered his daughters 5th birthday cake about 3 weeks before her birthday. Less than a week before she did a complete 180 on what she wanted. Mischa jumped on board with the change like it was nothing. The other cake had been planned out by my son & we were not prepared for little misss change of heart. We walked in & told Mischa that she now wanted a Trolls cake. Mischa stepped in & 10 minutes later we were out the door completely excited about what Mischa was going to do. It turned out beyond expectation! We were stunned by the GORGEOUS & cheery cake we picked up. Our granddaughters reaction was priceless! The cake was a HUGE hit at the party (35-40 people). The buttercream frosting was the best Ive ever had, the cake perfectly moist & delicious...just WOW! We will be long time customers! On a side note, we are regular consumers of the cookies, cupcakes & pastries...just as wonderful as our cake!

I have seen some creative cakes in my day, but the cakes you get from Icing on the Cake by Mishca are Phenomenal. They are more like a piece of Art then just a cake. Mischa works to know exactly how to create the perfect cake design just for you. One of the cakes Mischa made for me looked like a bowl of chili it was out of this world! Not only was the cake 100% eatable but you had to look twice to be sure it wasn’t an actual bowl of chili. The other cake Mishca made for me, was a replica of a Precious Moments doll. I almost felt bad cutting into that cake I felt like it should have been displayed with the rest of my collection. Not only were both of these cakes beautiful to look at but they tasted even better. Mischa’s cakes are fresh and full of mouth-watering flavor. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to Icing on the Cake by Mischa.

If i could put zero stars i would. First of all the day i was suppose to pick up my sons cake, i went in to pick it up to find out the order wasnt taken right. I preordered the cake a few weeks on advance. The cake wasnt ready because they didnt have any idea what it was suppose to be even though a lady took a picture of out the day i placed the order. Then after it finally was delivered, nobody would eat the cake including the birthday boy. My youngest son who isnt picky on food actually gagged eating the frosting. The frosting did not taste anything like buttercream, it was like pure frosting sugar. I am very unhappy. I called them to let them know and all the lady said was that was unfortunate.

This place is amazing. Great, friendly service and delicious cupcakes. I recently moved to NY and this first year I havent been able to celebrate my moms bday, so I wanted to surprise her with a birthday treat. How do you get your mom a fresh baked bday treat when you live in a different state? Icing On the Cake to the rescue! Mischa worked with me on a variety of flavors, whipped up a box of cupcakes, and delivered them to my moms work!! My moms response, "Best cupcakes I ever had, melt in my mouth...I tried all of them and I dont want to share." Thank you so much Mischa for helping me make my moms bday special this year. Cant wait to visit so I can try your cupcakes myself.

The best Colorado Springs has to offer! Mischa made our daughters wedding cake dream a reality! The five tier ombré rosette cake was absolutely stunning and equally delicious! Our bride chose layers of vanilla, chocolate, and lemon all with raspberry filling. Each was outstanding in taste. We knew Mischas cakes were scrumptious from the tastings, however, we were amazed at the beauty of the final product. Our guests are still talking about Mischas work of art! Thank you, Mischa! Your cakes are incredible! P.S. Also, Icing on the Cake is affordable! 5+ Stars
