Man, I only wish I didnt even have to put any stars. This place deserves negative stars. I think I will have to believe the majority of these reviews are bought like that guy said. Either that or I would have loved to have seen or met the people the other reviewers mentioned in their reviews. My girlfriend went in to American Auto to possibly purchase a car. Her salesman (wont mention names just that he wasnt very young) talked her into possibly a truck or SUV. She test drove a couple and then it got down to the nitty gritty. She has decent (not the greatest) credit and they wanted a huge down payment and a huge monthly payment. She mentioned a co-signer and old man and some other guy (who I assume is the Manager, more on him in a minute) told her sure get them down here. She knew I didnt get off work until 4pm and it was only noon. She said she would be back and at that point, all of a sudden the niceness and friendliness turned off and they even told her, eah sure we wont hold our breath. Well, I met her over there at 4:30 and boom the dog and pony show were on again when they saw she actually came back. Well I looked at the vehicle and test drove it. Then I looked under the hood and as soon as I lifted the hood, I knew by the smell there were some leaks. One from the smell of antifreeze and the other from the smell of burning oil. The salesman tried to pretend he didnt smell anything. I told him there was a smell plus I could tell the shocks and/or struts were gone and needed replaced. His answer, Well we have these fully inspected so I doubt that is the case but besides, you need to remember this is a 2003 used vehicle. I saw the mileage and told him I had to talk to my girlfriend. At that point, he went to talk to who I can assume was the manager. I had been watching the chaos and disorganization around me the whole time and had already determined my name would not be put on any paper in this place. Then the manager came over and at first was real nice and friendly. Problem was, I could almost feel the oilyness (Not sure if that is a word) from his handshake. I spotted this man for exactly what he turned out to be. Fake as can be. After trying to convince me that there were no leaks and what for the deal they offered my girlfriend, it was the steal of a lifetime. After finally realizing that I was not helping buy that vehicle, instead of showing something else, they basically told me to leave then. Told my girlfriend lets go and we went down the street 3 blocks, bought the same make of SUV but 2 years newer, less miles, over half the down payment they wanted and the best part, payments almost $150 less than American wanted for their junk. SO, all I can say, thanks American Auto for showing your true colors to me, wouldnt have gotten the REAL steal of a lifetime if you hadnt.

If i could give the guys at this joke of a dealership -5 stars, that still wouldnt be an accurate account of the caliber of American Auto Sales. Purchased an 06 Honda Pilot from these guys on 2/22/17 for $10,000. Was overpriced but with it being a 2nd vehicle & knowing i could get it refinanced immediately after, i went ahead and bought what I THOUGHT was a good vehicle. Luckily i made them sign a "We Owe" document stating they were obligated to fix the rear heater of the vehicle if i bought it. It is now 5 weeks later & after confirming the fix was only minor & would take a day max, these guys have had my vehicle for 2 out of the 5 weeks! Have had to take time off work to take my vehicle from Thornton to theyre dealership & pick it up after having it 2x for 7+ days & getting a call saying my car is "all repaired & good to go" only to get there & it be in the same condition it was when i left it! WHO CALLS THE CUSTOMER & STATES THEYRE CAR IS DONE KNOWING DAMN GOOD & WELL ITS NOT?! Do you seriously not go check before you call the customer or do you just enjoying wasting peoples time & gas?? The best part is when you go inside & confront them about it though! The crook of a salesman that i bought the vehicle from "Roger" states to me "well they told me they fixed it, what do you want me to do?" REALLY?! I want you to own up to the legal document i have stating your going to fix the problem & ACTUALLY fix it rather than hope i dont notice it isnt fixed & i just go away! Not only will they not care less about standing behind theyre word of fixing the vehicles they sell but you will actually get cursed out & hungup on by Roger, whose sadly a manager at this establishment. But the worst part about this whole situation is the fact that these guys are acting the way they are knowing i have 4 children (1 being a 2 month old) & expecting us to just deal with no heater in CO in the winter!! After 3x of taking the vehicle to these guys & 2 1/2 weeks of not having my vehicle, im done wasting my time, gas, & effort. Fortunately for me, i have family friends who are both mechanics & lawyers. Not only do i know now that the heater wont work because of a blown head gasket, but i also know it wont pass CO emissions because of it! Then after i give you back your vehicle, ill be taking your crooked asses to court so i can get my $1k deposit & $400 ive spent on new tires! Also, just in case you guys ACTUALLY read these.. 7 News, Fox 31, Denver Post, CBS Denver, 9 News, & Tom Martino have all been emailed in detail of this situation & how shady & corrupt of a comany you all are. Im going to make sure ALL of Denver knows to stay the hell away from you guys!!

To gives these so called salesman even one star is killing me!! I purchased a vehicle from them about 3 years ago, with less than perfect credit at the time I took the deal. I paid over $10,k for a 1997 Ford Explorer. It lasted me longer than I expected, I put a lot of money into to keep it going though. I get a call from Tony advising me that since I have been such a good customer and my payments are almost done they would like to keep my business. Only because the Explorer had finally given out on me, I went by , sat down with Rodger. Nothing on that lot has less than 100k miles on it. He talked me into a 2007 Dodge caravan with 107k miles. Said he ran my credit and this was the best he could do. He even went so far as to tell me no one else will give me a chance, not only because of my credit but because I work independently and file 1099. I put $200.00 down and drove off with a van that was going to cost me over $12k . It just wasn’t sitting right. The Kelly blue book value of this vehicle is $3400 in mint condition. I called him back and told him I was not going to go through with it. He advised me I should think about it, which I did! I thought about it all the way to MedVed in Wheatridge. Now these guys are true professionals! I spent 2 hours with Kenny, finding out my credit had improved I drove off in a 2014 Dodge Avenger! Hows that for no one will work with me! I called TJ not even 5 minutes ago to get my $200 back. He says they have to charge me $50 for the day and mileage. how desperate. I told him fine petty but fine. When I asked when I can pick up the balance he said he would call me back and hung up. they are pathetic DONT BUY HERE YOU HAVE OPTIONS
