I try not to go to BB often because of their bad customer service and customer loyalty and today I was reminded of why I avoid shopping here. I bought a video game online but wanted to switch it for another console. Same product just for the xbox version. It came up a different price and the associate didnt want to exchange it unless he got approval from the "manager". The associate asked and manager said no. Then I asked to speak to the manager and a minute later this guy came out with a bad attitude. From the beginning I could tell this guy isnt going to provide customer service and he didnt. The main reason he didnt want to do was because if he exchanged it, it would look bad on his scorecard because the store price was higher than the online price. I am shocked that he would even tell a customer that his sales goals are more important than customer service. Anyways, I walked out unsatisfied and disappointed that this giant retailer doesnt provide customer service when a customer clearly did not do anything wrong. Good news is that I went to another BB and the manager quickly exchanged it and apologized for the inconvenience the manager at this store had put on me. I will avoid BB in the future because of this experience and hope the corporation fails because of bad management. The only people I feel sorry for is the young, college student associates that are working their trying to make a decent hourly salary. My final thought is; what is the point of being a physical retailer if 1. your online component is not unified with the physical store and 2. there are no advantages of having live customer support service.

Think about the TV show Chuck, and the funny way they portray terrible customer service buy dumb customer service "techs". Well, this Best Buy branch could take a few lessons and might get to that level if they tried real hard. For the life of me, why do I even bother going in there, just to be annoyed every time ?! These guys have no idea as to their inventory, what the items they sell do, and how to use them. If you have an idea and need an item, better go online, this store is mostly more expensive, and they wont understand your request. If you have a question, dont even bother ! Youll get googly eyed "let me check" with 5 minutes wait of "I dont know". Than you ask another person and hell point you to a different department. If you are the type of person who needs advice about PC, TVs, cables because you are not Tech-Oriented, STAY OUT ! I wouldnt trust their ready made chewed, read from a cereal box replies. Man, they annoy the hell out of me. Why did they put this blue behemoth in that prime location near Ventura Blvd I have no idea. I wish they close it down and open a nice coffe house or outdoor restaurant.

Just left the store in complete frustration!!!!!! Stood and waited for over 25 minutes in mobile section. It seemed th at after the sales guy helped his last person he took off and no one replaced him. Had to buy a few items so I wentto the next dept! Ame thing no help! Walked and founf two people standing around and talking. They said they were not helping anyone so I asked about the items I needed. The woman did not move more than a body turn and said. "I cannot help you with that... just go over there..." I told her no one was helping me and she said "Im sorry I cant help you either" then turned and continued her conversation!!! Frustrated... I tried to call in and tell the manager & guess what - I wason hold for over 17 minutes!!! Its really bad when I feel I would get better service at Frys instead of Best Buy! If you want better service than Best Buy Sherman Oaks, go to Frys. If you want to stick with Best Buy because of your rewards card, drive to the Burbank or Los Feliz locations!!!! So disappointed! I would not give any star rating at all - but have to in order to post.

I lost my camera battery charger. Instead of buying it on back order from Fuji and paying for shipping, I popped into the Sherman Oaks Best Buy where I bought the camera 6 months earlier. I wrote down the model number and name of my camera. I told the guy helping me the name and number of the charger I needed and completely ignoring me, he grabs a huge bulky thing that looks nothing like the charger, saying "This is universal, it works with all Fuji digital batteries" despite the fact that it had a totally different model number listed on it. Sure enough I take it home and my battery doesnt fit in it. I take it back to the service counter and explain the problem. I also ask the register chimp if someone can help me find the right charger so I can do an exchange. She doesnt say anything the entire time and just takes my card. "We returned the amount to your card". No acknowledgment of anything Ive just said to her brick wall face. Just a refund to get me out the door. Never shopping here again. I am way too nice and polite to be treated like that.

Ive been avoiding Best Buy like the plague but decided to give them another shot after a fiasco at Frys. I chose a blu-ray player online and checked availability. Sherman Oaks had the unit in stock. Made the trip to the store after work and looked for it on the shelf... no sign of it. I waited to find a clerk... and waited, and waited! Almost ready to leave, one approached and asked how it was going. I replied "Not well!" I told him what I was looking for and he checked the same shelves I did earlier. He didnt say anything, then just wandered away! I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited. I heard him tell another clerk what I was looking for and they were supposed to have 2 in stock. A different clerk came and looked at the spot where they should have been, then another clerk joined him. I was peeved and ready to leave.... but in the end, they gave me the next higher model at the same price. So they redeemed themselves a bit, and thats why I gave them a "good"... they still have a long way to go!

Be VERY careful buying a cell pone at this store. If for any reason whatsoever you decide you do not want or need it - the fun begins. Today I stood in line for over 35 minutes while they helped all the people standing behind me because they were all buying phones and I had a return. The guys who work in the mobile phone department kept looking at me and smirking because they could tall that I was not happy with their blatant disregard. I had to call the store from my cell phone and ask for a manager before anyone would even talk to me as if I wasnt an annoyance. My motivation to ever buy anything form Best Buy again is at an all time low. Look at what happened to Circuit City - do these guys think they are economy proof? With all these bad reviews, I really hope they get the message and turn things around. So to summarize, please buy your cell phone at a carrier store - other wise you will find any support or customer service after the purchase painfully absent.
