On Edit: I received a call this morning from the Dealership General Manager, Dan Sterkel, after having Mariza follow up with me via email. While I am still disappointed at having driven a 100 mile round trip on my only available day for a test drive that didnt happen, I will have to chalk this up to "one of those things that happen". Dan seemed genuinely concerned at my experience at the dealership, and offered several ways of getting me a test drive, which I appreciated. One of these offers was not something youd ever expect a dealership 50 miles away to do. Oh and yes, they found the key. While I certainly hope there is more than one key somewhere, I accept the explanation and apology for why it was unavailable when I was there (stuff happens). I have to respect their desire and efforts to ensure that they have no dissatisfied customers (or potential customers). It seems like they really do care. ***************** Previous, retracted review below********************** Two things are an absolute certainty: 1. As a VW TDI owner, I will *have* to buy a new vehicle in the coming month. And 2. The vehicle that I end up buying, in the price range of the Subaru WRX will NOT be purchased from ANY dealership with the name "Galpin" in front of it. Period. In preparation for the buyback of my current vehicle (dieselgate), I have visited several non-Galpin dealerships. Hyundai, Mazda, Ford etc. Exactly none of whom had any problem with spending time with me, letting me test drive several models and discussing options. When you are going to spend several 10s of thousands of dollars, I think it pays to be an informed buyer. Then there was Galpin Subaru.... Today, I went so far as to schedule a test drive in a Subaru WRX Limited. (Scheduling is something Ive never done before). I arrive shortly before my scheduled appointment. The guy I am scheduled to meet is with other customers.... No big deal, another salesman will take me for a test drive, right? Well, maybe a test "sit". Salesman takes me to the car and describes it, and tells my wife and I that we can sit in it. He comes back after 10 minutes or so. "Cant find the key". Really? If I had told him that I was buying today, rather than trying to determine if the WRX was something Id be willing to buy, I wonder if the key would have magically turned up. (yes, the answer here is: yes it would have) All this after I drove ~50 miles for a "scheduled" test drive. Never again, not with any Galpin dealership.

So where do I start. If I could give a zero rating I would. I started talking with them about a car through emails on a Sunday evening. Tuesday morning @8am I emailed and said I wanted to put a deposit down. I didn’t hear from him, so I calle and he wasn’t coming in until Noon. Because of the work week and the distance it should be nothing to put a deposit down to hold a car and go get it on the weekend, ALL dealers do that. My internet sales person didn’t get in until 12pm that day, so at 1230pm Justin called me, by 330pm he was sending me a link to do a deposit. I promptly gave the deposit, he called said everything was great. Said he would be off over that weekend and meet with his internet partner. I said ok and I would be there at 9am Saturday. Two and 1/2hrs later at 6pm Justin calls me and said a customer came in and test drove the car (Justin didn’t do his job and put my name on the car) and now these people wanted my car. Justin asked if I would wait for the next car to come in, in March. I said NO, after talking back and forth he was going to try and keep my car for me. Half hour later I called and talked to Ryan a sales mgr an unethical one at that. He said he would find out what was going on; I am sure he already knew. Another hour and a half went by and Ryan calls me and said the GM and he decided whoever is there in PERSON can have the car. Tried to say these people were in there before I made my deposit (2 1/2hr) difference in time, not logical dumbass) I gave a deposit to hold that car and this is the kind of unethical business practices this dealership practices. PLEASE SHOP ELSEWHERE, THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY AND ARE UNETHICAL IN HOW THEY DO BUSINESS. I found the same touring model, same color in Scottsdale, AZ next day, with more accessories and they added the other one I wanted for nothing and it would’ve cost me $600 with Galpin … I got the car for $900 less at AutoNation Subaru .. dealt with Mgr. and I get my car in 2 days and they took a deposit and WILL NOT SELL THE CAR OUT FROM UNDER ME .. air miles equals free flight. DO NOT SHOP WITH GALPIN ..

My family and I make large volume vehicle purchases. We purchase on an average of every 2 years. We were using Autonation, and we believe that if there is good customer service, we will provide extensive business. Example, over the last 4 years, my family, and I, as well as referred friends have purchased 14 vehicles all from Autonation. I decided to take a leap of faith and try Galpin after a friend referred me. We were looking to trade in a vehicle for a used one we have seen sitting on the corner of the lot. When I was given the appraisal for my vehicle, I was devastated. I knew I would be upside down, but not like this. Autonation offered me just at 8K for my trade in, Galpin offered me 2k. Yes, 2k. A car that was in immaculate condition, upgraded, low millage, and very well taken care of, I can easily sell elsewhere for more. Not only did they loose a potential customer that can bring them more business from others, but its that one negative experience, that spreads to others, and causes others not to give there business as well. I must thank Autonation, as there is no better place to go. Galpin, I will never walk into one of your dealerships again.

This dealership is a class act! There was almost an old-world courtesy about everyone, and I felt that my needs were heard. There was some thinking outside the box when a question came up. I never ONCE felt pressured or hurried to make a decision. It was one of the smoothest business transactions Ive had in years. I almost didnt have to do any thinking because all questions were answering before I even thought of them. I felt that everyone was very thorough, very careful, and very respectful. Im a fan, and have already been telling people about this particular dealership. I discovered that all dealerships in the same family are NOT alike. This one is a standout. Julian was prompt with responses, answers, information, and assistance. Everyone seemed willing to go the extra mil for the customer. They even had K-cup coffee in the waiting room (not that I spent any time there on my purchasing visit). Someone at Galpin Santa Clarita has thought of everything to make business smooth. And, no, I dont know anyone there and had never heard of them (but had seen their ads in our small mountain newspaper). Anyway, good job, everyone!

I HAD to write a review to tell you about our amazing experience that my husband and I had at Galpin Subaru of Valencia and the very best employee/sales person that I have ever came in contact with. June 11, 2017 my husband and I walked the lot and became interested in a truck that they had on the lot when sales person Randy Janjuh approached us and welcomed Us. He made us feel so welcome. He made us feel very comfortable like if he was family, offered us water, snacks gift cards to Baja fresh. As we all know purchasing a vehicle can be a long process in the waiting process, he was always checking to see if we were comfortable. He had a positive professional demeanor, answered all our questions. I just cant say enough great things about this gentlemen. We definitely need more hard working, professionals like him in this world. He went above and beyond to make us happy customers. Galpin is very lucky to have such a respectful kind hearted employee on there team. I will definitely recommend this salesman to friends and family.
