This place has been a source of long waits, inefficient transactions, and sheer frustration ever since I started shopping there. Most frustrating is my recent experience where I stood in line at the customer service counter to redeem four scratchers. Just as the gentleman in front of me was given his receipt and walked away, another sales associate wheeled over a huge cart of groceries for a customer whose card wasnt working, and this customer was put ahead of me in line, even though I was the only one waiting and my ticket redemption transaction would have taken under a minute (I know, because its one Ive undertaken before). I find it absolutely infuriating that my place in line was given to a person with a much more complex transaction, as the staff dont seem to be trained well enough to know how to attend customers in an efficient order - or even in the order that customers arrive. After several minutes, I ended up just leaving in utter frustration, now unwilling to conduct business with the store at all. Funnily enough, it was the CUSTOMER that I heard say upon my exit, "Maybe you should help that lady." It never even occurred to the associate that Id been treated unfairly. I absolutely will not be back.

Prices are a bit high but thats everywhere in SLO. Good deals can be found on meat by looking for the manager special stickers. Surprisingly good sushi at the deli! The employees all seem happy to be there, and offer help and often recipe advice. When it gets busy they are pretty good about opening up new lines.

The "LIVE" estimate of business is ALWAYS WAY off. When it says much less busy than usual that means normal to very busy. Otherwise discourage anyone in any sort of hurry or with anxiety to go peak hours11-7 on most days. Besides the higher prices, its a pretty good store with nice selection and customer service.

One of my favorite grocerys stores. Not only cause the price is decent but the employees are so helpful!! And hands down best deli selection for a grocery store. Super good sandwiches, pastas, and soups. They got it all!! And the fresh deli sliced meat and cheeses.

This store has a decent selection of food, with slight emphasis on healthier organic alternatives. The prices are usually on par, or slightly higher than the other grocery stores in town. Avoid this place during busier times or your frustration level will peak!

The folks at Vons Marigold Center are wonderful. Friendly, helpful and patient. I do wish they would have a wider variety of "ready-to-cook" meals like Gelsons, Andronicos and Whole Foods for all of us families on the go. But, on the whole, I love my Vons!
