A friend referred me to Safeway for roses. I had never thought of ever buying arrangements from here. From the first time I shopped here I have received great customer service. Today I walked in and asked if anyone was available, the lady behind the counter was teaching a young man how to tie balloons. They both acknowledged me, but gave me no answer and kept on with their conversation, which is cool, but was re acknowledged and asked what I needed, I said I needed atleast 7 red dozen roses as well as one dozen in pink. Making a total of 8 dozens. The lady behind the counter, around her 50s black hair with glasses, then replied with, oh, Im sorry no ones available at this time. Which I replied with an open question of right this moment, she said yes. I replied with thats fine, I can pay now and come back later today. She replied with oh. Im sorry theres nobody available anymore. Which was also fine. But also went on to say she technically wasnt even on the clock. Being a manager myself I asked, ms so youre working off the clock? She replied with yes, I have been off the clock, Im not even supposed to be up here. I replied with, thats fine ms. Ill look else where, I understand that there is no one available and it was probably my bad timing, happy holidays. The lady pursued the conversation and asked to re clarify if I needed 8 roses or 8 dozen. I answered her question, and it seemed as if she thought about it, but by that time I had already decided to take my business elsewhere. The point Im trying to make, is the customer service was not what I have been given previous visits. If the expectation is there, then clarify so, otherwise, dont measure your effort based on the price of my purchase, wether it be big or small.

I been shopping at this Safeway for a few years and they need to do something about their baked goods. The donuts are disgusting, they taste stale, and the tres leches is garbage just because you put condense milk on cake does not make it tres leches. It was a huge disappointment to say the least. I rather drive to crowslanding any day for tres leches because Safeway ruined that cake for everybody that has never had authentic stuff. The Mexican sweet bread sucks too they have the cheapest variety which are called conchas you can buy those 3 for a dollar at regular Mexican markets. I have got them 4 for a dollar while Safeway sells them for 5 bucks for 6 what a rip off. And they are not even good, more stale bread. To top it off the store manager is a catty bee and the workers follow her lead. Not all of them there is a few cool workers in the deli. Oh yeah and the fruit tart sucks big time, sprouts has a better one that cost half the price. I can go all day typing how other stores in the area have better baked goods at cheaper prices. For good donuts go to joes market in west Modesto or Obrians market they have awesome donuts and baklava. On the bright side the Boston cream pie is great at Safeway but all the other stores that also sell it for dollars cheaper taste the same. Bottom line is that Safeway bakery needs to bring down prices and bake better products.

Honestly normally any other day I would have given it a five however as I drove into the parking lot and the parking lot was filled with baskets at 12:30 at night so not very busy just baskets everywhere and kind of difficult to park strsight..when I walked in the first person I saw was the produce guy and I said nicely ..i debated whether to say anything but felt it was a courtesy to inform not complaint.so I said "might want to have someone check the carts..theyre all over the lot" and he said..........clearly what he thought but I knew I misheard..but sure enough when I said "excuse me"? He looked me straight in the eye and spoke up.."I could really care less about the carts"..literally slack jawed I went thru the store to gather my 3 items I needed thinking..wow ..i cant believe he just said that..and then with more indignation repeated it..I mean he so clearly misstated the quote..I Couldnt care less is what he meant..I on the other hand could care less..im offended he spoke to me in that manner..im offended at the two other employees who excused his behavior as a bad day for him.. and I care how he acted and told him so before I left.. Im still dumb struck

I like this place, they have a lot of delicious things and good service they have good prices in wines, spirits, liquors and all that kind of things, those are "cheap" but food, bread, dairy and all that stuffs are not cheap it has a little bit of more cost... But it is still good. Me gusta este lugar, tienen muchas cosas deliciosas y buen servicio tienen buenos precios en vinos, licor y todo ese tipo de cosas, son "baratas" pero la comida, pan, lacteos y todas esas cosas no son baratas estas tienen un poquito de mas costo... Pero aun asi es buena.

Came here today for a money order to pay my rent and waited over 20 mins for a Customer Saervice person. When she finally came I advise her Ive been waiting over 20 minutes and she said she believed it because she had been in the floral department for over 20 minutes and the other lady was on lunch. I was not the only person waiting there were three others. Dont know if I just came on a bad day or not. Very disappointed with the customer service I received today at Safeway one of my favorite stores

So far having a good time I just think is crazy that you have to pay $0.10 a bag for your anywhere you go because I feel like have I go to the store and buy my groceries or what other store I go to and pay for my items you should charge me to bag it up thats been pretty greedy I think its already bad enough that things are twice the price of anywhere else and Ive been in quite a few different cities and states its not even like that in Miami so I think they need to get a grip on that

Stood in line 20 mins to get 2 money orders. There she be more than 1 person when the line for customer svc is backed up. I make it to the cashier and after she prints my money orders she tells me I cant use my atm card. She tells me to use the atm at the end of the counter.. 1. The atm has a fee as well as their fee for the money orders NO THANK U. 2. ur sign shd say that SO PPL DONT WAIT IN IT LONG LINE THEn HAVE TO GET OUT OF LINE, JUST PAY MORE altogether. Wasted my time for sure

Clean, friendly. BUT lately its been a slow checkout. I used to shop here all the time, today I went in for gluten free items (never had to before) and what a terrible selection. First everything is spread out and the real dedicated aisle is about 6ft long. RALEYS has about 3 full aisles. Not only that, they are usually cheaper than Raleys, but not the case with gluten free items. If they change this Id be happy to come back, as for now, RALEYS it is.
