Went to SLO for a college visit and this place was recommended. Nice large place in downtown SLO. The coffee was good and though the employees werent overly friendly, they were polite. I had the regular breakfast and it was good. One fat piece of toast cut in half, two pieces of good size bacon, and fluffy eggs. The rest of the family had a breakfast burrito and something else I dont recall at the moment. I didnt give them 5 stars because you have to order at the counter; the only thing they bring you is your food and utensils; you are expected to bus your own table; and after you order, they put a tablet in front of you with your order total and it has preset tip tabs, set at 20%, 25%, and 30%. If you want to tip more or less, there is a tab to put whatever you want. Why is that an issue for me? It seems ludicrous and presumptuous to expect a large tip by default when you have to order at the counter, clean your own table before you sit to eat, get all your own condiments and water, then bus your own table after you eat. The breakfast burrito was just that, nothing special and served on a plate without any sort of garnishment. I may drop in the next time for coffee but Ill find a real restaurant to eat in the next time, one that actually works for their tip and gives a refill or two for free.

Do not come here unless you want to be pissed off! I walked up to the counter (right as someone else has just ordered and walked away). He said that the kitchen was closed, so I looked at my phone. It was exactly 8pm. I politely asked if there was any way he could make an exception since someone else had just ordered. He said no and was incredibly rude. So I went back to continue studying and figure out where I was gonna grab food real quick. As I am on my way out the door, he apologized for being rude and offered me a discount on their pastries. I told him not to worry about it aND that I was just going to grab some food from natural. His response was this. "Oh we dont allow outside food or drink so I cant let you back in with that" So, here I am at natural cafe (where they have great service and better food) NOT studying for finals with my study group but instead sitting here alone silently fuming. Kreuzberg, you have permanently lost my business. P.s. this all happened at 8pm on Monday 5/16/2016. The rude employee was the only male that I saw although I didnt catch his name.

Be prepared to stand in line. Be prepared to be snarked at by the employees. Be prepared to be surrounded by glaring condescending "Im better than you" hipsters. Then take 1 bite of their brownies and youll know it was all worth it. These are the slayer of diets, and the breakfast of dreamers, the legendary food of the gods. Warm them ever-so-slighly, douse them with whipped cream, drizzle on the tiniest bit of chocolate sauce ~ your mouth will think it has died & gone to heaven. Coffee? Yes, they serve coffee. In every permutation imaginable. And its actually reasonably drinkable coffee. Nowhere close to the coffee they serve @ Kreuzberg in Santa Cruz (whats that about?) just OK. But you can get coffee anywhere. The brownies? You can only get those here.

This place seems pretty cool, but the food was pretty bad. I like how this place is geared towards the intelligentsia, with all of the menu items being named after great authors. This is definitely a place to check out if you are an English nerd, hipster, or enjoy literature. I went for brunch on Sunday with my sister, and the food was below mediocre. I had an Omelette (I think the kerouac?) and the egg was bad, the meat was subpar, and it didnt feel fresh. I tried some of my sisters chicken and pear sandwich which I thought was gross. If you want to chill/study, this is a good environment, but the food is very disappointing.

One of SLOs unique coffee shops. The indoor decorations are awesome, with lots of art, books, and old tables, chairs and couches spread all over. Even if youre not into coffee, its probably worth it to just get a drink and sit and look around for a bit. The coffee drinks are very good, and they serve a range of teas from one of the local shops which are also always good. In addition to being a nice place to sit and chat, its good for working for a while. Although I think a purchase gets you 3 hours on the wifi, so that could be a bit inconvenient.

Overall a good vibe and a quiet, spacious place to work with good WiFi and lots of other laptop addicted millennials. Deceptive in that it looks like "home," but when I asked what kind of lox they had, the barrista didnt seem to know what I was talking about! He caught on a little when I launched into an impersonation of my grandmother ordering *thinly sliced* at Zabars... So, I felt a little homesick, although a case could be made for me choosing to move to middle of America but maintain my New York/Northeast standards!

This coffee shop is really cool and definitely had lasted longer than I thought it would. They roast the coffee on site And make the breakfast foods there as well. The coffee is well made and tastes great. The staff is hit or miss (thus the 4/5) and sometimes can be amazing and other times can be snobby, hipster kids. This is a great place to come to get a delicious cup of coffee or latte and sit and read a good book or study for a few hours. I would recommend it for its atmosphere and ambiance if not for the staff.

Great theme and setting, but the service was OK not anything to write home about. Everything costs too much as far as Im concerned for what your getting. The thing that bothered me the most was how you needed to get a token password for the wi-fi which in todays day and age is ridiculous. You should be able to get a password thats good for more than an hour especially with how much they charge for everything..

One of my favorite coffee places in SLO. Kreuzberg coffee is classy and unique. From the quirky interior design and chill atmosphere to its delicious coffee Kreuzberg is a fun place to hang with friends or nice getaway for studying. The restaurant offers several large tables and comfortable chairs, respectable WiFi, occasional live music, on-site roasting, alcoholic beverages, and delicious food.

Wow. Great coffee. Thought this was going to be another hipster over rated coffee places with 10 dollar mochas and beans sourced from Starbucks. I was completely wrong. Place is very chill and the coffee is amazing. Pretty big place with food and beer. I was down for the weekend and hit this place up both days. They also have cold brew on nitros which is a plus. Highly recommend.

They have a great cup of coffee but the closest I have found to a real cappuccino like I discovered in Italy. It seems to be a great study spot but there are a lot of sounds and a lot of people meeting for food. There are all types of seating which is nice for if you go alone or a bigger group. I love all the nooks in this place too. Its a must see place if you go to SLO
