I barely write reviews... only when I have an amazing experience to share or a terrible experience that needs to be shared. In this case, Pet Food Express is AMAZING! I just moved to the Sacramento area from Davis and I used to buy my cat food at the Davis Pet Food express. It was about 8:15pm last night when I realized how low the cat food container was...ooops! Not wanting to be woken up at 2am by my hangry cats I knew I needed to run to the store and get more food. I did a quick google search to locate the nearest Pet Food express store and saw that they close at 8:30pm! I lived about 20 minutes away so I called them and the lady on the phone was sooo SOO SOO nice! I told her my situation and that I could hop in my car but didnt want to waste the drive if they were going to be closed. She told me to come on by and they would wait for me! I was really shocked and hurried my way over there. When I arrived Karen & Jackie were so nice and helpful. I felt nervous and embarrassed for making them wait for me but they made me feel welcomed. They spoke highly of the owners of Pet Food Express and explained how the owners really care about their customers and animal friends. It is so nice and humbling to know some business owners out there are still doing things right! I will continue to be a Pet Food Express loyal customer mainly because of the fantastic customer service! Thank you Karen & Jackie for all of your help! :)

Samantha, the clerk who rung me up was rude and overall unhelpful. I asked about the cat water foutain I was purchasing because I noticed it had been previously opened. I wanted her to check to make sure all the parts and accessories were all there. She rolled her eyes, scanned the fountain before I said I even was sure I wanted it. Now, I understand you are young and working at a pet store isnt your ideal job, but to then proceed to tell me how you were upsent it wasnt your Friday and that youre not very happy in general because you just moved here, have no friends and live in Elk Grove. Id say your additude was poor and reflects bad on the Pet Food Express business. Needless to say, I will not shop here again. Samantha, Im not surprised by your lack of friends at this point in your life.

Ive heard so many great things about PFE in the bay area, and Im so glad its finally here in Sacramento. This brand is in clear contrast to the experience and knowledge of Petco and Petsmart - I cannot wait to leave those stores, but PFE gives you reason to linger and mingle and hang out. They are attentive to customers and knowledgable about their hollistic and healthy pet products. Their community events are great to meet fellow pet owners and support good causes like K-9s and shelter dogs. I look forward to the low-cost vaccination clinics. Welcome to Sacramento, PFE!

We have an English Bull and Russell Terrier who is a heavy chewer and super smart (shes a handful, but the sweetest dog). The staff here was incredibly helpful in recommending different toys and treats to keep her occupied and happy and even when one of the toys didnt work, they helped with that too. Their prices are pretty average, but their customer service and their responsibility in stocking the best (things that are not made in China, fairly made, etc.) really impressed me. Wish we had known about this store sooner!

I have been purchasing my 1 year old jack Russells items here since I got him at 3 months old. The staff has always been nothing but helpful and polite! They greet and helput you every single time. Even though I know the store very well now, they keep me updated on the latest things for my pup. Also the return policy is amazing (much nicer than petsmarts) lol. If youre a new puppy parent I highly recommend the to stop by here first. Theyll get you everything you need and provide useful information for new parents.

I just recently moved from So Cal. And being new to the area, you naturally ask a lot of questions. The girls there are absolutely the nicest and most helpful when figuring out what my dog needs the most. Having a husky in warm climate with allergies, they are quick to suggesting products that will make her more comfortable. They are friendly and always have a smile. Very pleased and have continuously gone back for any needs. The fact that they have a bathing station for animals is a plus!

I really appreciate what PFE brings to the neighborhood and the pet community. Holistic foods and products, a great place for meeting up with fellow animal lovers, and cool special events. I like that they support local community charities like K9s and rescue groups. Two paws up for PFE.

Although the prices tend to be higher then most chains I still prefer to shop here as much as possible. They offer a great buy three get one free deal, and have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
