Well I initially went to petco to get my baby girl a new shirt, the cashier was curtious and very knowledgeable with the products in the store. My visit was great until I decided to go to check out. As I was waiting in line I heard a dog screaming in pain and I started to look for the noise. I noticed their was a groomer grooming a long haired dog, every pet ownerwho owns a long haired dog knowswhen you brush their fur be gentle .knotted hair is not a joke and hurts really bad. Well the dog kept screaming and he kept brushing the poor dogs fur like It didnt bother him or the dog. The last thing you want to hear at a pet store or grooming shop is a dog screaming in pain. I felt bad for that poor fur baby .I hope customers are more cautious where they take pets to get groomed.

Unhealthy guinea pigs. I got two guinea pigs from this petco. One died in two days, and the other one was taken back to store in two weeks because of upper respiratory infection. After two weeks, now they told me that they could not treat the second one and they sent it back to vendor! They said the guinea pig probably got the infection from the aspen shaving, which was also sold by petco. Not sure if the guinea pigs were unhealthy at the first place or the quality of aspen shaving they are selling is so poor. I wont go there anymore due to either of the reasons.

Took my dog to go groom there today. Her first time there and my first time having her groom at petco. Everything was great! Staff and all, but I didnt give it a 5 star bc when I got her back, the smell of whatever shampoo they use on her was so strong. It gave me migraine the minute we got in the car. Also the smell of wet dog...every time I bath her at home, she never smell like wet dog afterward. Maybe its just me, but I would rather bath her myself from now on instead of taking her to the groomers. They did do their job right and great though.

They made me wait 20 minutes for assistance in small animals. I was getting a Guinea pig. Finally some lady came over and brought him up to the register and everything. I was about to pay than the cashier asked me if I was in a car or on a bike. I was on my bike. This is how I transported all three of my other Guinea pigs and I bought them from pet smart. Dont go here. Poor customer service and discrimination. Go to pet smart. The cashiers dont interrogate you and ask you questions. The guy even told me they were very under staffed haha.

I took my AKC 5lb male Yorkie petco on laguna blvd to get groomed. After 2 hrs they called me to tell me they cut my dogs ear and I need to come pick him up and take him to the vet. I am so upset I have always went to petsmart but they were busy so I tried petco. My poor dog had to get stitches in his ear. I will never go there again!

I love my groomer at petco grooming. She is always so nice and remembers my dogs name and always squeezes my lil pom in for a groom. I like the fact she always calls ten minutes before she is done and will call me if she is running behind. The other two groomers dont do that there. We will always go back to carrie

It has what you would expect at a pet store. A wide variety of fish and small mammals. The staff are very friendly and offer samples of treats for your pets to try. Bright, clean aisles, and good selection of foods, treats, etc. Services include dog training and dog grooming.

“Stick tail” leopard geckos infested with intestinal parisite called Cryptosporidium varanae are sold at this store. I was hoping to save one of the three I bought but the vet said the best thing to do is euthanasia.

Customer Service is lousy! Took forever to get a price check on a product that looked like it had been used. They still wanted to charge full price. . ..wont be back!

Rude managers, nice regular staff. Went in during midday on a Monday so this may affect it. Out of stock on many items, but selection of pet supplies is excellent.

Nothing special. A few hamsters, snakes, lizards, fish, and parakeets. Usually quiet. Can get pricey quick. Come in for one thing and you know how it goes.
