DISRESPECTED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I stopped by on a Sunday to take a look at a vehicle (Toyota Tacoma). I liked it and it was great deal. I worked with Clay Jackson (salesman) on the deal and we came to an agreement. One thing that bothered me right off the bat is that Clay Jackson told me it was California State Law that they run a credit check on me even though I was already financed and had a check in my hand (LIE). The only stipulation holding me back on the vehicle was that the engine made an unusual audible ticking sound that worried me. They offered to have the service techs (Honda Techs) reevaluate the sound the next day. Since the truck would be an investment I decided to go to a couple of local Toyota dealerships and listen to similar vehicles engines with similar mileage and year to the one in question. None of them had the same sound. Mr. Poole (Sales Manager) called me later on Monday and told me that the service techs inspected the vehicle and decided that noise was normal? However he could not provide to me what type of inspection they performed. It very well could be normal; however I wanted to be a safe buyer so I asked Mr. Poole if I could get a second opinion from a local Toyota dealership for peace of mind since I was about to spend a lot of money and the vehicle is being sold "as is." I opted to purchase the 4 year/40K mile extended service as part of the sales agreement, however I would hate to buy something today and then have it breakdown a month later. Mr. Poole then had the Used Car Sales Manager call me. This is what he had to say, I have two options "Pay for a second opinion inspection myself by noon tomorrow or don’t buy it." Those are the exact words that I was told. I found that to plainly unrealistic and rude. It’s hard to schedule a service inspection at 4:30 pm with no time at all and before noon the next day. I tried calling back about 30 min after I spoke with the Used Car Sales Manager, found out he had left for the day, than I was put on hold for Mr. Poole for about 20 minutes to find out nobody was going to answer the phone. Nobody called me back. My experience was so rude that I emailed the owner, who said he would handle it. He pawned me off to another Sales Manager who basically lied to me over the phone and said he would fix the issue as well, guess what, never called me back either. I don’t think any of my questions or concerns for the sales reps were unreasonable throughout the negotiations. Mr. Poole and Mr. Jackson both accused me of giving them the runaround and not being a serious buyer which greatly offended me. Mr. Poole actually laughed at me when I told him I went to other dealerships to listen to other vehicles to see if that noise was normal. Come to find out that they sold the truck while they were giving me the runaround. Additionally, there is no state law saying they have to run a credit report, SCAM! Everyone I worked with at this dealership lied to me in some way shape or form, from the Salesmen all the way up to the Owner. Ridiculous, take your business somewhere else to be treated with respect!

Thinking of buying from them? Consider this first... Here are a few highlights if you dont want to read the whole story: -I have bought from Folsom 4 years ago, so I am a repeat customer -After settling on a price through e-mail, Folsom Lake Honda raised it once I got in the doors -My car salesman floundered during the whole appointment, and did not listen -The sales manager stated they could go no lower than $18,490 (which was almost a grand more than their competitors) -After walking away from negotiations I got several calls from them, wanting me back (oldest trick in the book, and completely slimy) I hate to say it, but NEVER go here to buy a car. I bought my first new car with them in 2010 and I was happy. After an accident that totaled my Civic, I decided to buy from them again. I got an e-mail quote from MD Islam for what was a good deal. I then spoke to Jason Davis ("sales manager") on the phone about the numbers. He seemed knowledgeable but started pressuring me at the end of the call to come in right away. I visited the dealership yesterday ready to purchase. I had all of the numbers worked out, along with quotes from every one of their competitors. MD met me at our appointment time and we started looking at color options. He really, really struggled with what I wanted. I told him countless times the colors I would like to view and he kept showing me the same car over and over. I took one car for a test drive, and he was so busy talking about himself that he forgot to give me directions on where to go. Finally, he found a car with a black interior so we went inside to talk numbers. Imagine my surprise when he said the car would be $20,000 ($2k+ his original quote). Turns out the car he picked out for me was a 2015. When I told him (for the 10th time) I was only going to buy a 14, he then said the price would be $500 over what we agreed upon in the e-mail. I told him that was unacceptable. Of course he brought the manager over to discuss this, and the manager said $18,490 was the best deal they could do for me. I was livid that they decided to do the old "bait and switch." Keep in mind that I am a repeat customer and this is how they treated me. Long story short, I left and went out to lunch with my family. I was furious. Guess who texted and then called me twice? Yep, it was the sales manager wanting to "talk" to me. I sent his calls to voice mail, and proceeded to buy my car from Mel Rapton Honda. I am so glad I did not give in to the unscrupulous ways of Folsom Honda, and in the end I enjoyed my car buying process at the other dealership.

I brought my son out Memorial Weekend to shop for his first new car and his first time financing a car. We did a lot of shopping via the internet first and contacted my different dealerships. I was really impressed when Lee Schwartz (Internet Sale Consultant) contacted us back by phone immediately. He was friendly, respectful, answered all our questions honestly, was extremely knowledgeable about the cars we were interested in and he did not pressure us like most pushy salesmen. He also sent us a thank you email and the information about the cars we discussed. He even left us his cell number to call him anytime day or night if we had more questions, which of course my son did many times being an extremely anxious first time potential new car buyer. Lee always answered his phone and answered my sons many questions. When we came down to the dealership, Lee met us in front and he already had the cars we wanted to see ready to go. We decided to test drive a 2017 EX with Honda Sensing. Lee took the time to explain to my son how to use all the digital equipment, the lane watch, sensing, program settings to link with your smart phone, etc. He patiently answered all the many questions my son asked. When we asked for a quote of all the costs, Lee gladly provided them in writing. When I told him I wanted my son to look at a few more different dealerships to test drive other cars to compare them to the Honda, he said he totally understood and would still be available if we needed anything or had questions. After experiencing other dealerships and tests drives, we came back to Folsom Lake Honda and Lee was there asking how he could help. My son loved the EX with sensing but wanted a different color interior than what they had in their inventory. Lee called all the other Honda dealerships looking for the exact car and color he wanted. (Lunar Silver exterior/black interior). Lee even drove all the way down to Stockton to pick up my sons "perfect car" and bring it back to the dealership for him. The minute my son saw the car he knew it was "The One". Even after the sale was over, Lee spent time with my son helping him program his phone to the car, set my sons personal settings, review the sensing, lane watch, etc. to make sure my son was comfortable and safe for the drive home. He even set the clock for us. Lee was the kindest, most knowledgeable and most importantly the most patient salesmen I have ever met. I would definitely recommend Lee Schwartz and Folsom Lake Honda. Thank you Lee, we really appreciate everything you did for us....Kathy and Anthony
