My boyfriend and I recently bought a 2013 Toyota Camry from Folsom Lake Toyota about 4 weeks ago. We currently live in West Sacramento, so the closest Toyota dealership to us is actually the Maita Toyota Dealership. But we chose to come to Folsom Lake Toyota instead because they had better reviews online, and we wanted to get the best customer service possible because sometimes it can be a stressful experience buying a new vehicle from a dealership. We went to the dealership at about 10 am and was helped by a salesman. He was nice, and worked with us on how much we could afford and what we wanted. Our experience was a pretty good one up until we had signed all of the paper work and drove off the lot. It is a used vehicle, about a year old. We were informed that this vehicle was previously used as a rental, which we were fine with. After we left the dealership I realized that we had not been given an extra key. We only had been given one keyless entry key. Not even a hard copy spare. And the floor mats were not in the vehicle, which I thought was odd. Now I have previously bought used vehicles before and have never not been given two keys and floor mats. Ive bought used vehicles from a private seller as well as a dealership. And the other dealership I worked with provided an extra key and floor mats. So I didnt think to ask if wed be getting those things before we bought the car, Ive always assumed that those things come with the vehicle. So the next day I called the dealership and asked why we were not given those two things with the vehicle, and the manager informed me that used vehicles are usually not sold with those things. That if they were provided in the sale, theyd have to bump up the price of the vehicle. He said with used vehicles they usually throw away the floor mats because they are dirty. I dont know about most people, but Id rather have used floor mats that are maybe a little dirty, than no floor mats. And seeing as how we were on a budget in the first place, we didnt have the funds to purchase floor mats and an extra key. Which would have been at around at least an extra $300-$400. So I was very upset. When you buy a new vehicle, I feel like you want it to be complete. And it doesnt quite feel complete without floor mats. They did eventually agree to provide me with an extra key and floor mats, but I basically had to twist their arms for it. I had to call several times and be that awful bitchy customer that no one likes, and thats really not me. Im a very easy going person when it comes to most things, and it usually takes a lot to make me mad. If they had previously told me that this particular vehicle didnt come with those things, then okay. But I was not informed this before I bought the vehicle. I guess in the end you have to ask if every single little thing is going to be provided before you buy the vehicle, and next time I purchase a vehicle from a dealership, I will do exactly that. The reason I chose to buy a vehicle from a dealership instead of just going online and finding one myself from a private seller, which would have been less expensive anyway. Is because I wanted the process of buying a new car to be easy, and to know the vehicle had been taken care of, and that we wouldnt have to worry about much. We did also have a few minor things that had to be fixed on the vehicle as we started driving it. But thats to be expected sometimes. So if you decide to buy a used vehicle from Folsom Lake Toyota, Id just make sure you know everything about the vehicle before you buy it.

The reviews speak for themselves, worst service out of them all. Worst service experience I have EVER had from any dealership. Ive purchased 6 Toyotas in the past 7 years. The only (and last) vehicle I leased from them was a 2006 Tundra which I bought off the showroom floor equiped with a 3" lift, MotoMetal rims, and some crappy duel exhaust that they had installed. ALL items the sales and finance departments assured would be covered under the extended warrenty that I purchased. After that, Ive had several issues with the service department with this vehicle. 1) A tire sensor had gone out around 10k miles so I brought the vehicle to them to have it repaired. The service advisor then said it was due to the lift and was not covered seeing I had replaced the stock rims with aftermarket rims. When I said it was dealer installed he said it wasnt because the tires looked "too new" and when I again said it was he called me a liar, (Im not making this up). I went in with the purchase info including the window sticker and spoke to his manager who shrugged his shoulders and said "these mistakes happen" and didnt even appologize. When I asked what he was going to do about it as I wasnt happy about being called a liar, he basically said nothing. 2) The crappy duel exhaust hangers broke in the back and left both pipes hanging off and banging around. Once again I was forced to bring it back and again more issues with them saying that they hadnt installed it, this time I brought the window sticker with me. After a week and several unreturned phone calls asking what was taking so long to get it fixed, I got the truck back. 3) Once again the duel exhaust hangers broke, and once again they said they didnt install it. After waiting a week for the service manager to get back to me, I just gave up. Fortunetly, I just took it Roseville Toyota were Ive had nothing but good service and they fixed it for me, even though that should have been done at Folsom seeing as this was an item they had put on. Thank you Roseville Toyota. 4) Yet again the stupid exhaust hanger broke. With 40k miles on it, the service advisor yet again said they had not installed it and after they finally admitted they installed it said it wasnt covered under the extended warrenty and refused to repair it. Im still waiting to hear back from the general manager who most likely wont get back to me just like last time. I had to go to a muffler shop and pay out of pocket. I have no idea how this horrible dealership stays in business. When my lease is over in the next couple of months, there is no way in hell Im considering leasing another truck from them. Im simply handing them the keys and going to Roseville Toyota.

If I could give these guys NEGATIVE STARS, I would! Service manager lied through his teeth while talking to the sales manager about a particular issue that I had. Little did he know that he was on speaker phone and I was listening in the background. Even put words in my mouth - the scumbag. . The sales manager panicked and elected to take care of the issue himself. I could see the distress in his eyes. I wont forget someone like that. Service reps sit in their offices casually chit-chatting away while customers are waiting. Even when they see you through their glass walls, they just turn and look the other way when they can clearly see that you are waiting for service. Service department even misplaced my keys at time of pick-up. Is everyone who works there an idiot? The receptionist just simply told me that theres nothing she could do. I told her that is not the right answer and she needs to get someone on the phone or do something other than shrug her shoulders. Get someone back here to the office to fix this debacle. You dont leave a customer stranded. Seriously...what kind of dealership management tolerates this kind of irresponsibility? I called in to get an appointment to get my vehicle treated for corrosion. The gentleman who does the scheduling for this was not available at the time, so they said they would call me back in about an hour. Waited...no callback. The next day comes...still no callback. So I called the dealership again. A gal in the service department picks up and I voiced my disappointment about not receiving a callback and she obviously was not listening to a word I said and replied "Oh, thats okay! Let me transfer you!" All I could think was... "That is certainly NOT okay." Who the heck is managing this dealership? I was near the point of just returning the vehicle and asking for my money back. Finally, I had enough and asked them if I could get my corrosion treatment performed at another dealership. They said that if I bought it at Folsom, then I would have to get it done there. I was tempted to tell them to refund my money and Ill go buy it from a different dealership, but gave them one last chance in the end. Needless to say, I will never be going back there nor will I ever recommend any of my friends and acquaintances. No one deserves the lack of decency that this dealership showed me. Not even my enemies. Disgusting dealership.
