Dime a Dozen.... I feel a bike shop is judged by its service department and how good their mechanics are. For Empire Bike I have known Rafael (Owner) for many years, let me tell you about Rafael. He is a terrific mechanic. Now hes a shop owner. Thumbs up! And who is now wrenching at the Fair Oaks location? Mario! hes a seasoned mechanic, Hes got the touch and Ive taken many of my bikes specifically to him. Some things I just dont know how to do. Mario knows many intricate mechanical things, He does wonders with brakes. A mechanic with the magic touch. Shops have to charge what they charge but they dont gouge. I am for-right in telling you this. Some of the best work comes by word of mouth and referrals. You wont go wrong here for service. Best, Greg

Small shop with local bicyclists hanging out. Repair shop right next to the salesroom. Selection of bikes limited, but just what I was looking for - an inexpensive commuter bike. Owner/proprietor was gracious and helpful. Im going back to get rear rack and water bottle cage.
