SAVE YOURSELF MAJOR FRUSTRATION AND DONT GO TO FRAME DOCTORS!!!!! I have had to deal with this guy twice. Walmart recommended him to fix glasses. This business is not a business. He attempts to run it by himself and is never there even though his sign says hes open, and business hours posted in the window. He has a serious time management problem with a bad attitude to boot! He has his cell phone number posted on the window, but if you call and ask him why he is not there and the door locked, he will tell you his wife is sick and hes stuck in traffic somewhere. He gave me this same story last year when I had to deal with him. He expects you to wait for him hours on end, then he finally shows up so you can get your glasses. Never keeps his word as to when they will be ready. I was waiting with 5 other people trying to get their glasses back. One couple drove 20 miles for the second time to get there, had to wait for him to arrive, then the glasses werent ready when he said they would be. They had to come back the following day again. Something about his acetylene tank being empty. I heard that story before too. I had the same problem with him a year ago. I had to come back several times to get my glasses and they were never ready when he promised that they would be not once, but several times. He finally had to mail them to me because he was never there when I drove to pick them up on several different occasions. Agree with Hank X. He never answers the question you ask, but will respond back to you with something unrelated. Does not listen to what is said and puts his own spin on it with a stupid answer back. Save yourself the frustration and DONT go there, even if you have to do a mail in to some place else. Hes not the only guy that fixes glasses.

DONT GIVE THIS JERK YOUR BUSINESS!! ironically, the guys name is Richard or more fittingly, Dick! when i called him on the phone he was impatient and rude. regretfully i went to see the place to find this tall, ugly, grey man with a surly countenance. while i waited, he took a phone call and was just as rude to that person as he had been to me. when i showed him my glasses he acted disgusted that i had used epoxy on them for a temporary fix. rather then to at least have a sense of humor about it he started to berate me, saying how i ruined them and the fix was terrible. i told him, "no. this is great. it allowed me to wear them whereas i couldnt before." then he grumbled back, "if you wanna look at it that way." i began to say how all you needed to do was chip away the epoxy with a blade. he interrupted me and angrily demanded, "dont tell me what i need to do!" he then starts tellin me its gonna cost me $60 for this minor fix. he tells me if i hadnt messed with it, "it wouldve been $30 but now its $60." needless to say, i got out of there. i called another glasses place called WORLD OPTIC on east chapman ave. the guy was really friendly and professional. i told him there was epoxy on my frames and he said no problem. they fixed my glasses by the next day for $40. they would have been able to fix them the same day if this a**hole hadnt wasted my time. seriously, this is the kind of guy that, if he has any family, they likely hate him too. steer clear.

It is so nice to run across a small business that still believes in and lives up to doing the work right and putting the customer first. I had 3 very expensive pair of sunglasses that needed repair; and I found this place just by driving by. I wasnt sure the glasses could even be repaired, and assumed I would have to leave them and pick them up at a later date. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and helpful, and told me to leave them and come back in 20 minutes. I found that hard to believe, so I gave him a little over 30. When I returned to pick them up, they were repaired perfectly; and he even gave me excellent advice on how to keep them from breaking in those spots again (obviously cutting into his future business). The cost shocked me - even less than what he had estimated! This place is amazing! Highly recommend!

I called frame doctors on chapman for a quote and Rick was a very humorous man from the start. I came in and he had a few customers waiting already. In maybe 20 minutes every one was taken care of. He wielded the broken arm of my eyeglasses for me so quickly. He even tightened my frames for me and cleaned them. Frame Doctors is a great place for a reliable and decently priced fix. I dont believe nor do I understand all these negative reviews. Its obvious people have nothing better to do except write trash about credible and hardworking businesses. They are hiring btw and they train you so if anyone wants to be an eyeglass repair person then call them.

I have been to other places and this place is by far the best for repairing eye glasses. I have an old pair of glasses i went here the first time and it was great. Went to another place the second time and that was a big mistake. I went to this place at the mall off the 605 fwy and it was messy , yes they fixed it on the spot but it was like double the price. And to top it off my glasses broke again a few days later. Big big mistake.

Dont use frame doctor. They did a terrible job fixing my glasses. My glasses where fixed but visually where terribly welded. Then a week later the welding broke. I took them to get fixed again but the guy told me it would be a another charge of $45. I was charged $50 the first time. The guy was unreasonable and rude. Never doing business with frame doctor again.

Fellow was manically enthusiastic and didnt listen. Did a terrible job of replacing one pad-arm! About 1/4" uneven. He didnt even de-solder the original arm as INSTRUCTED but rather tack-welded the new wire (arm) onto the old one! Then he became belligerent when I refused to pay and demanded he undo his damage! Frames still have weld spatter from his work!!
