This is a terrible UPS store and it seeks to gouge customers at every turn. Today I left the store after being given a quote of $43 for UPS Ground Service for a moderately sized package. I went to another UPS store on Piedmont Avenue and it was shipped via the SAME UPS GROUND SERVICE for $34. Besides this gross discrepancy in UPS shipping charges, this store does not give customers free UPS Express Reusable Envelopes - you know, those brown cardboard envelopes for documents and small items. A few weeks ago I went in with a small document that needed to go via UPS Ground and asked for one of these free UPS envelopes. The owner said that he does not offer them *at all* and showed me his soft pack envelope FOR SALE for $3. At another visit late last year I was charged for a few feet of clear packing tape - maybe 24 inches in total. Heres the bottom line: when Im in there, I get the impression that if I linger too long that they will charge me for the air that Im breathing. I have now learned my lesson and will never go to this shop ever again, despite living less than two miles away. I rarely take the time to make any consumer complaint such as this review on YELP, but this particular UPS store has given me sufficient motivation. In fact, after completing this YELP review, I will contact UPS with a formal complaint regarding over-charges and their dishonest policy of not stocking free UPS materials such as the Brown UPS Express Reusable Envelope.

Wow, I dont usually post negative reviews because everyone has bad days and working in retail is generally terrible, but they clearly have a management problem. I came in to do fingerprinting for a new position, not my first rodeo as I work with people. Ive probably gotten fingerprinted at least five times, including at UPS locations, and never had an issue. From the moment I walked in, the employee who helped me was short, spacey, and generally had a bad attitude. When she went to take my prints, she got palpably more cranky and frustrated with me when a couple of my prints wouldnt scan. (No wonder, I could see the marks of former fingers on the scanner. She wasnt wiping it all the way clean.) I finally expressed my discomfort at her attitude and suddenly they couldnt finish the job! Incredible! Given former reviews, they dont seem to care about their reputation, so great. I would not recommend going there for any reason, unless you enjoy being snapped at.

These guys will not let you tape up your box in the store! They will not recognize their own prepaid receipts! They will tell you to hurry up, and that they are waiting on you? For what I dont know, I just came in here to mail a package to a client. I looked behind me, no one else was waiting, I am the only one in the store. After a brief exchange the guy at the UPS finally did recognize the receipt as a legit UPS receipt, but wanted to charge me $55 dollars for packaging. I said I would be glad to package it myself, but I guess you cant do it in the store even if you have the receipt and the box. I am now at home looking up the address for another UPS store close to my house. I sure do miss the UPS by my old apartment. There, I could throw on a bit a tape, no problem, for well under $55, actually you can tape it there for free. What a bunch of uptight losers at UPS Montclair!

I have been a customer for over 18 years & this UPS Store & mailbox service is the best. My packages are always ready for me & if Im on vacation the staff holds them for me. Heather & the other associates give excellent service and they are so nice and the owner is wonderful too. They also have all the printing services you need and all occasion cards too. I love this location in Montclair! They give the best service in the Bay Area!!

Told me I was wasting their paper when they couldnt figure out a paper jam. Then told me the printer cant print my document, even though it had just printed 12 pages. Then said the printer was out of ink, but they wouldnt refill it. Confronted me about why I needed a high resolution document that I had just paid $75 for. Finally, I took over, figured out the jam and walked out with what I needed 45 minutes later. Avoid at all costs.

I agree with other reviewer - they do nothing without a price tag, are slow and not terribly service oriented. I asked to print a PDF of my taxes and they wanted $2.50 per page. Per page!! My jaw dropped in disbelief and I even asked a few times to be sure I got price right. Of course a friend or small biz in Montclair would do it for free! I get that people need to charge but still...Kinkos charges $.25 per page.

I paid $5 to fax 1 piece of paper. The receiving party contacted me saying that half of the fax was cut off. So I came back in the following day and explained what had happened. They wouldnt fax it again because the print out said it went through. So theres another $5 (which is a lot for me, being a student). Zero customer service. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

Too bad writing zero stars is not an option. This is the worst store on earth. I shipped a package from here and the staff stole items out of my package. There is no recourse as my box arrived, and since this is a ups franchise, ups itself disclaims any responsibility. I would rather have donated my valuables!!

They will try to upsell you on shipping charges, without informing you of cheaper options. Be prepared to spend two or three times more than necessary. Also, notary public services are exorbitantly priced. Go elsewhere if you have a choice.
