rude staff, Some fat bozo named Ken supposedly, ignored me while try to buy some fish then refused to sell me fish be cause I didnt bring a water sample? I been buying fish for years both at petco and petsmart as well as local shops and have never had any 1 demand a water sample to buy a fish! If he is in a pissy mood or having a bad day dont take it out on a customer.. dude probably makes $9 an hour and looked to be 45 and just wanted to exorcise his lil itty bit of power... not the 1st time I have had issues with unfriendly staff there.. about 2 weeks ago I was looking at some fish and some guy there was talking to 1 of his coworkers and then walks up to where I was and says excuse me!!! all agro cause I wasnt even in his way while looking at a fish.. its like dude Im not a mind reader.. you where too busy talking about football to go down any of the other 5 or so isle and ended up at me barking that I get out of your way as if I was blocking him for 30sec plus.. I was in his way and he waited about 1/4th of a second to bark excuse me.. Ill say this again, I wasnt even in his way, I was just on the isle he ended up at when done talking to his coworker.. no need to be rude cause you are too busy not paying attention to go down any of the other isles.. Few years back the staff was cool but now they are all bitter pricks that need a good azz kicking.. o well this location had a crappy fish department anyways.. half the tanks where full of dead fish, most looked ugly and unhealthy.. trash on the floor, pore selection.. as of right now 2015 this is the worst petstore in the area and when you top that off with bad attitude staff members and pain in the but to get to and leave location I dont see much of a point in going there.. Ill stick to petsmart in rsm or el toro for now on. Clearly they dont want my money bad enough at petco..

I am usually always going to petco over petsmart, my personal preference. That is until now. I went to petco and bought a guinea pig that seemed completely healthy until we brought him home. He was extremely timid, which I expected because he was not socialized very well being in a pet store. Anyways I was holding him and it looked like he had dust from the wood shavings behind his ears and I was going to brush them off but after looking closely they began to move. There was TONS of them he was heavily infested with lice! I was very upset that they did not notice this and I went to return him the next day and they were RUDE with me they didnt believe me and sat there and examined him and I pointed out they were very excessive behind his ears but I then realized it was in front of many costumers that were getting grossed out so i believe he was trying to hide it. After getting him to finally admit it had lice he casually said guess your going to the vet but im going to see if they do bring him in. If you are going to purchase an animal do your research when i bought him they said they buy from a private breeder in so cal so that they dont get shipped I hope they were honest but either way.. watch out what you buy and check for parasites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a golden retriever and I took him in to get a bath and a light trimming around his feathers. They said it would only take about 2 or 3 hours, well 5 hours later I fianlly got the call to pick up my dog and he was completely SHAVED!!! He looks awful! When I started to complain the "boy" behind the desk was very rude and offered no help whatsoever. His response "It wasnt me..." Needless to say I was and am still very irritaed and I will never go back to Petco again. Be aware of these guys, they are unprofessional very disorganized and will likely shave your dog if you tell them to you want a bath and light trimming.

Dog Training with Paolo was a wonderful experience! Regarding checking out, in my experience, more than 4 times waiting for a cashier to come to the register is an issue. One occasion the people behind me said theyve experienced the same problem. Using my phone, I even called the store manager to send up a cashier as the line was becoming longer and no one was around to "flag them down". Other than that, the folks are always friendly!! The 5 stars are for Paolo the Dog trainer. The store itself, 4 stars. If you read this all the way through, thank you and may Beautiful gifts come your way.

Terrible experiences...twice. We made an appointment for 1pm and were told our dog would be done by 3:30 or 4 (this was just for a bath and dry, no cut). My husband went at 4:15 and they hadnt even started! She had been crated for over three hours at that point for no reason. When my husband spoke to the manager he said dogs were there for up to 5 hours before starting because it "wasnt inhumane". He told us that there are extra charges for starting right away (we were never told this originally). This is the second time something like this has happened. DO NOT GO HERE.

they are excellent and very informative my favorite groomer marcia left:( they give me advice whenever i call or ask the outside looks a little sloppy but the people inside are great i have many different pets and they always make sure to test my water after some fish die so i dont waste my money killing more fish they are very knowledgeable about small animals and snakes too they also got me to switch from pedigree to a better food blue buffalo theyre rats could be bred better though

I just got a new puppy. Anxious to get all the supplies I would be needing, I stopped here. No shopping carts available outside. Inside there were several parked in the aisle half full of merchandise waiting to be restocked . When I asked a clerk, they said if there werent any outside they were all being used. No offer to help find one. Poorly run store. I went to Petsmart in Aliso, much better selection. Wont be going back to Petco.

I brought my yorkie in for a grooming and could not have been happier ! The groomer was Katie and I think shes only been there a few months BUT she did an amazing job. Ive never seen someone handle the dog with such care and she treated her like she was her own dog. I will def. be back and I highly recommend your dog getting groomed by Katie.

I love this place! They offer brands and products that PetSmart and other animal supply stores dont always have. The staff is nice, the place is well kept, and I love shopping there for my spoiled brat of a dog. I would recommend to anyone :) **Note: I have not had experience buying an animal from Petco, so it is not reflected in my review**
