Two separate occasions I arrive at the store to find they are not able to help me. This last time I arrived an hour after calling to confirm the manager would be in the store and available for a firearm pickup. I arrived to find a replacement manager who was covering for one who had to leave due to an emergency. I asked when they left and he said hours ago. Well before my call to confirm. I asked to pickup my purchase. He informed me he could not deliver it in this store. Only his SJ location. Basically, nothing can be done. After my 30 min drive to the store after verifiying I could pick up the purchase, I was told no. I asked what they would do for me, as they failed at this point, not me. I was offered a $10 coupon for another purchase. Obviously, an insult. I spent $900 be they offer a rejection and a $10 coupon. I asked if I could just refund the purchase and he again told me no, he cant refund in this store. He is a manager in SJ, but it appeared just a body in Milpitas. Im now looking for another store to purchase my item. If I find it in stock, I will make the purchase and refund with Big 5. Customer service is worth more to me than a sale price. If you dont offer service during business hours, adjust your hours or declare different hours for some services. A call into Customer Service resulted in a voicemail and at the time of this review, they were closed. See if they return my message tomorrow and offer something to me for all of this, other than $10. 10% would be a start.

We were at the store 35 minutes before closing, after we came back to Milpitas for an Samuel Ayer Reunion. We were in the back sitting on a bench we put back down on the floor ourselves to use. He had to yell and toss a small thing toward the female worker to get her Attention to help us. She did well after that getting my disabled friend shoes. A man came fly by us and seemed very angry...it was 8:55 pm. He slammed his hand against the door, huffing and puffing. I had to speak out. Sir, that is very unprofessional of you to do as customers are sitting right here, trying on your shoes." It took a minute but after several minutes he came back out. We has other issues after that relating to safety as both of us having issues with our vision. Ill report the rest to corporate Big 5. Milpitas was a small helpful town when we grew up here in the 50s to the mid 90s when we moved. Bring customers come first back..thats what keep repeat business customers coming back for repeat business. Thanks

Great experience and service. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Selection is not bad. I buy all my ammunition and shooting supplies here. All of the managers especially Peter and Eric are knowledgeable. Good deals on sporting rifles are found in thus store.

Friendly staff. Got helped for cleats by Ann-Marie (or was it Marie-Ann?). Not many were on display but she managed to find a bunch of good models (not all of them were on display). Very helpful. Will come Back here for further sporting need.

Today I had the worst experience at a retail store. They had limited staff, and the available workers had a nasty attitude. One of them insulted me verbally and passed me off. Id say you skip coming to this big 5 sporting goods.
