Seattle Paragliding is awesome! If you are looking for just a tandem this is the best place: Best location: they are literally on the side of the LZ (Landing Zone) Great orientation: lots of videos and you can actually try the harness before flying so you have a feeling of what its going to be like. Great Pilots: Seattle Paragliding also works with great pilots that make the experience even better. If you are starting with the idea of becoming a pilot Seattle Paragliding school is great: Marc & Lan: he is great, making jokes here and there but always keeping it serious when its needed, I think thats a great way to keep people hooked and paying attention. Lan is always keeping an eye on everybody on the air making sure every student lands safely, giving you confidence especially when you just started. Chalk talks: Marc organize chalk talks, about different paragliding topics, where students and more experience pilots can share their experiences in a friendly environment where everybody can learn. Training hill: its right at Seattle Paragliding, useful to learn your lunch technique or refresh it after long winters, so you get ready to get to fly again. Exclusives: Seattle Paragliding collaborates directly with Chris Santacroce to provide, between other things, advanced maneuvers clinics on lake Sammamish. Strongly recommended for every pilot. Environment: One of the best thing of being a student at Seattle Paragliding is that you are part of a club with a great environment. As long as you are student you can keep participating to the chalk talks, using the training hill and spend good time with other pilots around a bonfire exchanging flying experiences. I started flying at Seattle Paragliding 2 years ago and today I got my P3 rating, it has been awesome!

This experience was my daughters birthday dare to scare yourself, step out of ones comfort zone, well you get the picture. After years of watching these paragliders floating around the skies over Poo Poo Point, thinking they are nuts, we found ourselves standing on that point looking down. We live in Issaquah and you cant miss them. Everyone at this facility is beyond wonderful. Although you cant help but be nervous and a little anxious, Marks instructional class before hand really helps to ease some of those nerves. We could not have been paired with more perfect tandem professionals to meet each of our personalities. We had a perfect day and I even had a chance to fly twice due to perfect weather conditions. My instructor Michael was wonderfully sensitive to it being my daughters birthday and wanting to make this the most fabulous experience for all of us. The class before hand gave us a chance to bond with our group and we couldnt wait to celebrate at the end. A huge shout out to Michael who made it just that much more wonderful. Explaining how the process works, what keeps you in the sky, what we need to do climb higher, or why we hang in specific areas of the mountain, giving you confidence, checking when I would go silent to make sure I was still "ok". Trust me you go silent just taking it all in just because you are in such awe of the spectacular views and feeling of flying. Michael, I cannot wait to go again. I promise to stay on feet the next time when landing. THANK YOU.

After a lifelong desire to fly, I recently joined Seattle Paragliding. If youre considering taking up this unique sport I highly recommend this school. Marc and his wife Lan work as a team to train new pilots and are both genuinely enthusiastic and dedicated to the sport. This school has dozens of active pilots ranging from beginner to very experienced (all ages) and I have really appreciated their camaraderie and advice. It really feels like Ive joined a family. One of my favorite things about this experience has been Marcs extensive use of video footage as a training tool. At the end of the day I am able to review my takeoffs and landings and this has proved to be very helpful. I am also able to take these home with me for my own records. Marc has really embraced new technology including Twitter which he uses to keep all of us up to date with the latest conditions and news. Learning to paraglide has been an incredibly positive and empowering experience for me. Im still blown away by the fact that I can hike up a mountain and actually fly down. On my fourth solo flight I caught my first thermal and soared to 3000 feet! It was exhilarating. Seattle Paragliding has been a very positive experience for me and I would recommend this school to anyone thinking about learning to fly.

I flew for my first tandem yesterday with Seattle Paragliding owner Marc. I have been a hang glider pilot since 1989. After a recent shoulder injury and recovery I decided to try paragliding. Marc took me to cloud base repeatedly during the flight as well as flying a triangle from Tiger to Squawk and then over to the north end of Tiger. I can only describe it as an epic first flight. I found Marc to be a very hospitable person as well as what I would consider a great instructor. I felt comfortable throughout the long flight with him and enjoyed the opportunity to pilot the glider myself even while Thermalling to cloud base. It was obvious to me, after spending days at the site including the launch areas prior to my tandem that Marcs dedication to the Tiger mountain site and Seattle Paragliding has produced an amazing site and school catering to both local and pilots visiting the site. My thanks and hats off to Marc for his effort and dedication to air sports. I look forward to progressing through the training program with Seattle Paragliding. If you are considering flying, I recommend Seattle Paragliding and am glad that I made the decision to fly with Marc. Donny Gale

I had a great time here. I took my first tandem flight with this school and subsequently signed up for classes. During the pre-flight orientation, Marcs east-coast directness gave me a sense that there was nothing to worry about, and that I was going to have a blast. The tandem pilots go out of their way to make you feel both welcome and secure. I have recommended this crew to many of my friends looking to get their first taste of free-flight. The school is also top-notch. Regular Saturday classes that explain technique and review your video-recorded launches and landings. Its training hill allows you to practice launching in a very low-risk area. The Seattle Paragliding team is always on the lookout for each other, and the sense of camaraderie is palpable. Often-times there are stories to be told over bonfires after a day of flying. When you join the school, you unknowingly get the added bonus of an amazing community as well.

I took my entire family (Wife, two daughters (14 & 16) plus myself for a tandem ride. I was expecting a quick 5 minute video followed by a 10 minute flight and a good bye, instead we spent almost an hour going over videos of procedures and general things of interest related to paragliding. We then met our tandem pilots, they were all extremely friendly and pleasant, several have since become friends, they were very upbeat and extremely safe. The flight lasted well over an hour and was fantastic, we where able to control and fly the para glider and did not have a single moment of fear or doubt. The truck that takes you from the school to the take off site has seen better days, but it still beats walking!! A fantastic day out and all my family have now signed up with this school to get our licenses!! A great family experience and I highly recommend trying the tandem flights.
