Surprisingly helpful staff, easy to find a pair of wrestling shoes for my son at a fair price. I was impressed by the staffs ability to work around the peculiarities of some of the shoppers who were in the store at the time we shopped there. It is nice to have several options for sporting goods in Santa Cruz.

No assistance from employees - they were chatting and hanging out. The changing room is below a walkway with no roof... It seemed a bit strange. Otherwise they have an ok selection and a large variety of equipment. The shoe section looked pretty large and it looks like they might sell hunting rifles/shotguns.

Its a big chain store, and sometimes the service - especially in the shoe department - had been lacking in the past. Im finding that employees there now seem more helpful than before, so thats a good thing. Join the email list and get some decent coupons to help make the experience even more worthwhile.

This place is a Big 5. If youve been to a Big 5 anywhere else youve been to this store. As a Big 5 you should only go on the weekend when theyre running their weekly sales. I can usually find some good camping stuff. Bought one of my favorite pairs of running shoes there too!

Its one of the smaller Big 5 locations, and as a result feels crowded with merchandise and may not have everything you expect. The site has limited parking.

You can find great deals if you search for them the service is great when there are people available which is not all the time but most of the time

This is a great Big 5 store. The store is large, and packed with interesting items. The two staff members I met were helpful and cheerful.
