Rare coin purchase transactions can be stressful. Carter is a person of integity and has taught me the majoirty of what I know about numismatics. He has been more than accommodating to clients who have limited knowledge of the market. His passion for coins and other rare memorabilia shows in his enthusiasm to help. I try to conduct all my currently collection efforts toward him first. There are some coin stores in the area that one should research (and call) before going to them. From my experience, The store in San Rafael (Gold Hill Coin) next to the Mayflower did not offer me what I felt was fair for coins Ive sold. San Rafael rare coin which is further east from Gold Hill on 4th st is a great business to work with as well. For paper currency collectors, this place has almost everything you are looking for.

While the ridiculously large collection of coins I had yielded absolutely nothing when I took it to this dealer (Carter Collins is his name) I was very impressed with the speed and accuracy with which he went through my coins. What I thought could be a goldmine, turned out to be dross. But he knows his stuff, that is for sure.
