This walmart is good considering its size. Unfortunately it will never become a super I learned. Although they have bought and paid for land (behind costco) the city officially voted against it becoming a super, years ago...back before any other supers were around, it was to be the first. But because it was voted against, they cannot expand. The customer service is soso, bit prices still decent and its organized just like any other marketplace walmart is. Just not many of those left. There is an older lady in the electronics/photo/pickup dept that is particularly helpful. Im bad with names but think her name is Sharyn or something like that. Shes the best at this store far as Im concerned. Only other walmart with best customer service is the Lodi one which is brand new. Dont forget to bring ur own bags people! That law was also passed recently by voters like you. Funny how some ppl complaining about it now.

The customer service department is a horrifying experience. Starting with the person Im going to assume is female named Jennifer. First off she looked like she was guarding the gates to hell and the makeup was thick enough that I wasnt sure it wasnt covering facial hair. Then as she addressed my problem it was clear as day that this thing could care less about my issue or customer service in general. My best instinct tell me Id have done ok if I was dressed in drag as some goth tweeker and been there to rip them off as the guy right before me did. Obviously a freind of Jennifers by the way that whole " return" went down. Ill never step foot inside that walmart again and wont even call a manager as the employees speak volumes for what kind of managers are there. walmart in Manteca is a welfare ridden crack head supporting bunch of thieves and stole 22.00 from me. Beware.

Horrible customer service, never stocked & only one choice..take or leave it...too many fights in the store, the place is always dirty ..ever since they brought in more food..everything else had to go..no more eye center they had to take that out...they SUCK!!! The Christmas selection SUCKED & I was told by an employee that they didnt want to bring in a lot of Christmas stuff because they didnt want to have to mark anything down...(I found better & cheaper stuff at target)..There product they had looked like dollar store status..the employees are always complaining & when you go to the register they dont even say HI!!!!!! I HATE THAT..I will drive out of the way to go to walmart in modesto or tracy..if i cant or dont have the time i will go to target and just pay more...BUT i do have to say targets prices have been reseasonable latly!! & they say HI

Much better as a supercenter and, of course, the prices are low. However the entire experience from parking to check out is terrible. Always crowded and hard to find a good spot when you arrive. Typically there are beggars or other transients out front. Then once inside you get to the main problem, the crowds and type of people that you typically associate with Walmart. No intelligence in sight, from simple courtesy and caution with carts to kids running aimlessly the entire shopping trip is aggravating. The associates dont seem to have any clue whats going on nor are they friendly or at the very least approachable. Checkout is a disaster as well with long lines and some sort of payment issue with every person in front of you. Yes, the prices are good but have some dignity and save yourself the trip and shop elsewhere.

I have been calling every walmart from the bay area to the oregon border this morning looking for a product. Of the 20-some-odd calls I have made, the Manteca Walmart is the only one that answered and wasnt rude! When I was transferred, the next employee that answered was just as nice as the first, and to my surprise, the woman answered within 2 rings and was eager to answer my questions. I realize Im talking about Walmart and not a high end boutique on rodeo drive or something- but I will now only shop at the Manteca Walmart. Customer service is everything to me and they nailed it today!

Its a Walmart...you go in, fight the crowd, stare in confusion at the strange people you see, search vainly for what your looking for, try talking to associates in Walmartian, fail to understand, forget why youre there in the first place, grab something you really dont need, wait in line at a cash register, question your mental state as you begin to understand the mumbling you hear, wonder again why youre there, realise its you thats mumbling, still waiting at cash register....should I really go on? Its an E-ticket attraction. A rite of passage. An American tradition....

This place is both of good and bad Im sorry to say ... the people who work here are very nice and polite, and always friendly. However, from where this Walmart is located at, it is in what I guess is a rougher edge of town... Ive seen at least two people shoplift from this place (one who barged through a back door with a brand new bike), but that is I think, more of a Side-Of-Town issue (Ive seen the same thing happen at Safeway across the way), it is unfortunate that this happens in this area- and by extension, this Walmart... on the plus side, this place is Open 24-7.

I do love the prices and variety at Walmart but for it to be 24 hours, it makes no difference when you go shopping there; you will still be waiting in line to check out for a long long time; which makes me shop there a whole lot less than I normally would. I actually avoid going there because of the wait. Why are there so many check out aisles? They only open two at a time, no matter how busy it is! Does corporate know about this? Isnt this a waste of space if they never intend on using these check outs at the same time? Just saying!

They have obvious undercover shoppers that make you feel like your doing something wrong when you not. They stocked me thug the store the whole time I was shopping. Latterly stocking me every isle the whole time. They were trying to act like they were shopping. The undercover shoppers were terrible actors. They make my shopping experience uncomfortable and not able to shop. I felt rushed. Other wall marts Ive been to were not as bad. But Manteca wall mart sucks and they never have anything in stock.

PRO: 1. Its a Wal-Mart. 2. Its close to home. CON: 1. Dirty, and I mean, really scummy. 2. Always busy, check-out is always long and people, both customers and employees are grumpy. 3. Out of a lot of items, like ammo, fans, place mats, etc. Other: 1. If you KNOW they have it, okay to shop, but if not, go to Target. 2. For food, go next door to Safeway. 3. Parking is horrible and the parking lot looks like someone puked all over it.
