Bulk! No, Im not talking about my waistline. Bulk bins! Winco Foods has them "by the bulk"! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Finally made my way to Winco. Not receiving a circular in the mail or seeing TV ads, Ive only heard of it through an article on the grand opening & if Winco pops up in a conversation. Lets see what theyre all about...... 1st impression - If Food 4 married a Costco & they didnt use Plan B, thats what Winco would be. The floor layout is similar to the two, w/ everything shiny, clean & spiffy-looking. It seemed like as if the grand opening was yesterday. Did I mention they have bulk bins? I was amazed at all the items in the bins, w/ bargains tantalizing my wallet. For example, chia seeds are almost a dollar cheaper than Sprouts. Score! Also, there are beehouses w/ nozzles for DYI honey. The signs said something like "Dont remove the lids because bees will fly out. I thought "Wow, unpasteurized & unfiltered honey!". Then, I thought "How do the bees get pollen to produce the honey?". Then I thought "Do they get 20% employee discount? Medical w/ dental?" ;P There are signs strewn about saying "No sampling", but I did manage to clandestinely have a taste of the clover & orange honey. Yum! I felt like Winnie the Pooh! The coffee aisle has a vast selection of coffees. The sample station had decaf chocolate macadamia, blueberry & raspberry. Being the decaf choco/macadamia fan that I am, I had to have some. Great tasting! Browsing the aisles, another thing I noticed is a dozen cage-free brown eggs for around $2. Win! The freezer section had a battery of ice cream & frozen desserts. The meat/deli section seemed to have fresh cuts of meat & prepared food items at competitive prices. Upon checkout, I noticed that, like Food 4 Less, its self-bagging which isnt a problem to me. No credit cards. Dont even try. In summation, I delightfully enjoyed my visit to Winco. The main standouts are the bulk bins, the eggs & freezer section & the welcoming cleanliness of the store. I will go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Typically, I love Winco and have been an avid customer since it opened across the street from where I live. Tonight however, there was a drunken male on the side of the store at 3am. This is quite normal for Winco, but this gentleman kept pulling his pants and underwear down, urinating on the two cars parked on the side, throwing bottles at imaginary figures and playing with his genitals anytime a person went by. I was going inside anyway, so I mentioned to the lovely cashier and another employee that was talking to her about the guy outside. As I went to grab my few grocery items, the informed the very young, clearly inept manager about the man exposing himself outside. As I returned to checkout, the employees were telling me that the manager went to go check it out, but I could tell by their tone of voice that they knew he wouldnt truly do anything about it... they even jokingly said "Oh our manager cares so much about customer satisfaction" just as the manager walked up after looking just outside the doors (not on the side where the guy was) and said he didnt see anything. The managers response (or lack of one) was worse than the guy outside exposing himself... at least that man had an excuse, he was drunk... what was the managers excuse? I called the police and they arrived within mere minutes and found the gentleman. Glad someone knows how to do their job.

WinCo is one of the best places to shop for groceries. We let our Costco account expire cause this place takes care of all of our needs at great prices without paying to shop there. They always have sales going on so you are bound to save on something you are there to buy. They have good produce at great prices. One of the best things about this store is their bulk food options. Anything from sugar, candy, snacks, macaroni, cereals, nuts, spices, baking soda...they have so much available in bulk for great prices! I love getting my favorite cereal as a bulk item. Better prices than in the box and I can stock up with however much I want/need. The same with spices. My wife loves being able to buy just as much of a particular spice for a recipe, especially something that we dont normally use often, as opposed to buying a huge container. I also like getting my coffee beans here. The bulk price is fantastic and the quality of coffee is above average. Dont expect anything super fancy, but its a good deal for your cup of Joe in the morning. The facility is very clean and well kept. The staff are always helpful and nice. The bathrooms are very nice. The parking lot is very large. You will be able to find all the basic food items you need and then some. One stop shopping. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this place to everybody I know. I love this place.

Great food and prices, but the customer service is horrible. I ordered a 8 piece from the deli and me and 4 others were waiting for the chicken to come out. Once the chicken came out,I expected the woman to start fixing the orders of the ones who were waiting, she then proceeds to make the orders for the next couple people in line. She then eventually starts making my order. I wanted 4 bake & 4 fried. She gave me 4 bake and ask me if I coulf take 3 fry and 5 baked because they were out of fried legs and they can only give you one of each. I told her I would take any piece of fried. She then tells me I cant per management. I informed her if she hadnt given the chicken away to the two folks in line behind me and the other folks here that wouldnt of been an issue. It took 15 mins and a supervisor for me to get one piece of fried chicken. Smdh, customer service is horrible here.

My husband went to WinCo to pick me up some chips about an hour ago. When he brought them hope they were opened and about 1/4 of the chips were gone! Since the Anthrax scarf of years ago I am very cautious of things such as this. Who knows what someone may have injected into these chips? So I called the Supervisor on duty, Carolyn. She said all she was authorized to do was reimburse me the money. No apology, no nothing. I asked her to call her manager and have him call me back. She said shed rather wait til the new manager came on at 11 PM and he could call me back. Not the best way to keep a customer, Ill tell you. I will be calling the corporate office tomorrow to follow up. Already called the news media.

I really should give Winco 5 stars. There really isnt much to complain about except the bakery. Really though.... their bake goods arent any worse than any other store here in Southern California. For some reason I have yet to figure out, the West coast breads are just not worth eating. Other than that, WinCo is twice a good as any other grocery chain in Southern California. Changed my mind. Ill give the company 5 stars and write in 2 stars for their baked breads. My biggest complaint about WinCo is that there arent enough of them. None in LA :0(
