Which Spice Girl has a green thumb & handy with tools? OSH Spice! Orchard Supply Hardware, actively establishing new stores around the nation, opened one of their latest in Lakewood. Grand Opening festivities included $25 gift cards for the first 100 in line, canvas tote bags and complimentary coffee from a barista fresh grinding coffee beans. Knowing $25 is nothing to sneeze at, I made sure to skedaddle early in the morning to secure a spot in line. Having my spot as no. 60 & my portable chair, I killed time by talking to the nice woman behind me. A few propane heaters were brought out for comfort & the line integrity was kept. No funny business from cutters & such. The Grand Ceremony consisted of a few speeches from the mayor & the manager, photo-ops and, instead of a ribbon cutting, a wood sawing. After that, it was time to shop! OSHs store layout is consumer friendly, easy to navigate & find just what youre looking for. Unlike big box stores, OSH is smaller in scale, so getting lost isnt a problem. The staff have been helpful & courteous, asking if I needed assistance in any way. 2 of the popular Grand Opening sales were the Orchard 1 cu. ft. potting soil & Kelloggs 3 cu. ft. garden soil. Unfortunately, all the stock on hand were gone, but I was offered to prepay for the quantity I was seeking and to bring the pull slips when OSH has the soil back in stock. Nice touch! I also purchased an ultra-dwarf Snow Queen nectarine tree to add to my collection of edible landscaping. Checkout was quick & I was on my merry way in no time. Parking is in a private lot, shared by CVS & Uniform Advantage. Time to get your hands dirty & calloused up, its tool & gardening time! Orchard Supply Hardware is a great small-scale hardware & gardening supply store. Friendly service, a well organized floor plan & competitive prices are what await those stopping by for their next project to check off on the to-do list. Highly recommend!

Great place! Helpful employees everywhere! I am not used to that since i typically shop at the other big hardware store. Refreshing to walk in there and have someone ask if you need help. Thank you Orchard!
