Free coupons! Free coupons! Just the thought makes my heart flutter & my prostate weak ;p Harbor Freight Tools regularly has advertisements in the Sunday LA Times which include free coupons for various items. Things such as head lamps, LED flashlights, tarp, measuring tape, scissors etc. Sometimes with purchase & sometimes with no purchase necessary, which = Happy Birthday, Rodney! Seriously, Ive stocked up for the Zombie Apocalypse with the free items Ive acquired from Harbor Freight. I guess Im part Doomsday Preppers & part Extreme Couponing. Nothing wrong with being both vigilant & frugal, you know what Im sayin? Harbor Freight doesnt carry name brand, professional quality tools, but what they do carry are tools that will do the job for not much dough. Im not quite the handyman, but I do need to swing a hammer or whip out the screwdriver from time to time. Ive checked out their various items for sale - greenhouses, solar panel systems & rechargeable batteries etc. The small size of the store makes finding what you want a cinch, compared to big box stores like Home Depot, which can feel like a maze while youre shopping for what you need. Service has been good the times Ive been here. There is usually a line because 1-2 registers are operating at any given time. Parking is in a shared private lot with HomeGoods, Alin Party Supply & Centinela Feed & Pet Supplies. While eating breakfast & reading the Sunday paper, dont forget to scope out the Harbor Freight Tools advertisement for their free coupons. At the very least, you can score some cool merchandise for your bug out bag & perhaps find some inexpensive tools that you just might need around the house. Recommend!

On a product return they have been unable to refund money my money back to my credit card and this is becoming ever more difficult and very painful experience. I have received a lot of rhetoric with management while they try to stall me and blame my bank as the problem. Its obvious they screwed up and refuse to try to process the refund again. There is no history that they refunded anything to my bank, no digital finger print of a pending transaction which always takes place after any trans action with my card. However they did keep my credit card and fail to give it back on my 3rd visit, they also failed to make right with me and to date have not refunded my money. Thanks STORE MANAGER. And its been over five days with no refund as they promised. Harbor freight has a nice selection of tools but technological pirates stealing refunds from people. Pay with cash so you can get cash refund immediately if you do buy anything from them. Good luck.

After reading some of peoples reviews I compelled to add my two cents into the conversation so here it goes Harbor Freight is the place I go when I need that one tool where you honestly may only use it once or two a year, that one where you may go to Ace hardware and its $50 to $60 bucks for it and the project isnt worth it. Once there youll be amazed at all the tools,toys, and gadgets they have for a low price, now remember the price is a lot lower for a reason, "China Cheap "but I havent had one issue returning anything as long as its within 90 and you havent waited until the 89th day to take it back ! Check it out and look in the paper for there free items with any purchase and there 20% off coupons makes it that much better

Brent the manager at the lakewood location is useless. Remember that the items are made to last 95 days and that is why they have a 90 day refund policy. Brent was of no use as he hid behind the phrase "Sorry, its corporate policy" excuse. If I purchase an item for $180, I expect it to last more than 4 months or that the manager would stand behind their product and not hide behind some "corporate policy". One star for inferior products... Zero stars for Brents poor customer service.

Buyers beware... If you buy something that does not work and take it back there is a 20% restocking charge. I brought a code reader that said on the package that it viewed live data. It did not. That cost me $20.00 when I returned the piece of junk. I argued with the manager and he accused me of taking it home and using it. I have 2 other snap on code readers that work great and wanted one to leave under the seat of my car that was not worth $2000 in case someone stole it. Screw them

Harbor freight stocks tools that, while not of professional grade (IE: capable of being used 8 hours a day, every day for years) are affordable and function well for the occasional user. For example, I have a number of their air tools, which I could never have afforded at the pro grade prices. Im not a pro, and they all work very well for me. So far I havent had problems with their tools, so when I need a tool HF is the first place I look. they also have great sales frequently

I own almost every tool they sell. Good prices for the quality and very convenient. I wish they had more in stock. Only complaint is that they edit their online reviews so its hard to know what good and bad before buying.
