RE: EMPLOYEE RACISM I already lodged a complaint against the stores Bakery section employee earlier today. Im a woman of color, Indian-American & a loyal customer for over 20 years. I was waiting to be helped & this female employee was chatting with 2 other customers who seemed to be together. She was trying to explain to this customer why his order had been messed up—I was at the counter long enough to understand the context of their exchange. I was barely 2-3 feet away. She began blaming some nameless employees in the back. The man asked if the problem was "because English is their 2nd language?" Within clear earshot, this woman said loudly enough that the "these people (in the back) dont understand English and its really hard to explain anything to them. Its a really big problem we have these days." She shrugged after waving her arms in frustration. This was a highly inappropriate comment, and if the workers she was referring to were Latino or Hispanic, this was also blatantly racist. This seemed like a clear Trump-effect unfolding before my horrified eyes. I wonder if this woman would have felt as emboldened 2 weeks ago & said this with the same arrogance. She didn’t care if I overheard. She felt entitled to express this bigotry clearly for 3 customers to hear. I wonder if a store like Ralphs would let this kind of behavior pass. What was worse is that when I said, "excuse me," to attract her attention (because Id been standing at the counter for a good 5-7 minutes without being attended to or told that she’d be with in a few minutes) she turned to me & rudely, very slowly said, "I am helping this woman who was ahead of you in the line." Here is the thing: (1) If Ralphs trains their staff well enough then this employee shouldve said, "Ill be with you in a moment," the second she spotted me at the counter. (2) There was no line. The employee was casually talking to 2 people. I assumed these 2 people were together. And since shed already explained the delay or mistake, I assumed that she was done with them. She made me feel like one of "those people who dont understand English"—hence the slow-talk. This is outrageous behavior and not something I expect from a store that I have been patronizing for over 20 years. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I wonder how this woman treats her co-workers who may not be white. I doubt that it’s with courtesy. I doubt if she recognizes the dignity of “these people” that she was ranting against. Ralphs has a serious problem on their hands if this is the kind of employee whos the face of the company and is allowed to get away with this attitude without a reprimand. They have some serious investing to do in employee sensitivity training so that this vile incident doesn’t repeat itself.

I had a great experience at this Ralphs just a few minutes ago. I had been there earlier in the evening and had accidentally forgotten my iphone at the self-checkout. I didnt realize that I had done this until several hours later. Knowing I had left it in a public location, I didnt have that much hope in getting it back, however I rushed to the store anyway, just in case. Upon arriving, I was helped by the manager, whose name is Ernesto, and a very nice young cashier, whose name I unfortunately didnt catch. To my delight, they had my iphone there in the lost and found!!! They made sure to ask me a couple questions to ensure that it was going to the right person. I was delighted an impressed by the courteous, honest and intelligent service!

No one was available or even come close to helping me in the late afternoon. So I called the next morning about 9am, no answer. Called back a couple hours later and the person that answered was rushed. When I told her I needed to order two cakes she asked when do I need them for pickup. No questions about what type or anything. I told her Thursday morning when they open. She said it has to be after 7am.....the manager told me the bakery is open at 6am so obviously they dont need the customers!!! I will drive the distance to the Ralphs I used to go to in Huntington Beach that went over and above on all their bakery requests!!! Or there is always Albertsons!!!

This is the main grocery store in my area. the parking can be difficult and depending on which direction you want to leave you need to plan out which exit that you want to take. All of them are right turn only. The store is clean and the employees are helpful. The selection is fairly diverse but Ralphs has gradually been pushing prices higher than its competitors over the course of the last two years and the quality of their goods has remained unchanged, and in some cases worsened. I can recommend this place for sale items but for staple items I would check the other stores in the area.

There were a dozen people in line and only one cashier. I tried the hokey self checkout, but the wonderful system was unable to find the price of a scanned item. It kept notifying the attendant, but there was NO attendant. The self checkout attendant decided to help the people in line and completely abandoned the self checkout customers. She tried to help remotely and the system found the right price, but after I put it in my bag, it asked me to remove the item and scan again. What the F? Was this system programmed by idiots?

They just did a full renovation of the whole store which is nice. A little confusing for people who are regulars but its great that they renovated it, it looks much nicer inside than before. Alot of the people who work here also seem to have been working there for awhile, almost everyone is friendly apart from a few. They also have a good selection of food and products.

Because of its proximity to my home, I frequent this spot often. Weekly deals on par with any other grocer. I will say this though, the deals on beef arent as good as othet locations, but everything else is on point. All workers here are super nice. Cute filipina girl works here too.

The prices are a bit higher for produce than some of the other grocery stores around, but this is the most convenient store in my area. They have a great produce section and always have specials in the meat section. Also, they have a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf inside the store.

The associates were rather rude and flip. I was in Irvine on business, and they gave me a hard time about returning my bottles for the deposit. Apparently, their automatic bottle recyclers are closed on Sundays. I didnt know that since I was from out of state.

Nice grocery store conveniently located near a few other shops and a bank. I was delighted to see the large selection of craft beers that they had available. The store was clean and had a decent number of staff on hand to assist with any issues.

This used to be my favorite Ralphs, it was always clean and the staff knew regular customers by name. It looks like it must have had a management change, as the store doesnt seem very clean anymore and the staff isnt friendly or helpful.
